  6. The Supreme Court just ruled 8-1 in Chiles v. Salazar that Colorado’s law banning “conversation therapy” for sexual orientation or gender identity is unconstitutional. Jackson was the lone dissent.

  7. i read Jackson’s dissent. She actually says this decision will result in a “precipitous drop in the quality of healthcare in America”.

You can’t make this sh-t up.

  8. Sotohatewhitey must love it that Jackson’s presence on SCOTUS means that she’s no longer the resident dingbat; the number of 8-1 decisions has left Jackson firmly ensconced in that role.

Which also makes the 9-0 rulings (rare as they are) that much more dramatic ie when even Jackson gets it, you know it has to be plain as day…

  10. So Jackson considers it “unhealthy” for people to be able to stop others from tricking a boy into thinking he can be made into a girl resulting in his permanent sterilization and loss of genitals.

Jackson should go back in time to the Assyrian empire and explain to captive male slaves that it was healthy that their testicles were ripped off and nobody stopped it.

  12. Don’t know about this one. The Seattle Mariners just signed one of their top prospects, Colt Emerson, to an 8 year contract extension guaranteed at $95 million with an option for a 9th year that could total about $130 million. Here’s the caveat…Colt Emerson has yet to face major league pitiching in a major league game. The contract is a record for a player yet make a debut in the majors.

I know the NFL and the NBA are different….college signees. But I also remember Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) in Moneyball arguing that it is impossible how a player will turn out.

We should all hope that these bad people are…you know, that we win this thing and clean up straits and that Iran is no longer a threat to anybody.” “The markets will be concerned until it is over.” “But I think it’s VERY important…it’s much MORE important that this be successfully completed than what the market does.”

Seems like every day there is a new report on TV in the DC area of yet another person being killed by illegal aliens. Guns, machetes, knives, vehicles, fists…

I picked up the fourteen 16 x 24 pavers (about 35-40 pounds each) at Lowe’s today. Two trips getting 7 each time. Loaded them onto a push cart. Loaded them from push cart to car, unloaded them from car to the back yard, had to pick up and move reach one about 6 times during construction.

Some leveling left to do, sand fill the cracks, and rebuild the fist sized stone paver that line each side of the new 24 foot walkway. I do not ever remember being this tired.

    Tomorrow…it might get finished…

  21. Trump is such an easy lightning rod.  I said when he was first elected that we were in for a bumpy ride. You see, Trump has never been elected to anything, never served in elective or appointing government position. He does not understand laws and the lawmaking process, how government is intended to operate, the art of compromise, etc. Trump does not even understand what powers the president actually has.  He has a CEO mentality which says “I am the elected CEO of the U.S now so I have any power I want to have.”

Now having said that, our country has become so screwed up and institution after institution is failing miserably–political system, judicial system, immigration system, education system, election system, family system, religious system (organized traditional Christian denominations), moral system, etc. Plus, our national media had become a joke of itself in being very partial toward leftist candidates.  Enormous frustration being felt in the country in 2016, 2020, 2024 and today.   And Trump’s first presidency did a lot of things that I approve of and were far better than any alternative D president would have done. to run the country deeper into the ditch. Ditto for Trump’s second term of office.

So perhaps the unsuccessful and devolving times pulled onto the stage someone like Trump–who despite no experience in governmental affairs nor ever been in an election before–decided to run for president and try to do things differently. Act different from traditional politicians. Talk different. Go attack problems in unconventional ways.

But he was not stupid in his entering the political arena. He observed the lay of the land and became aware of the issues that were twisting the underwear into a knot of various groups of voting blocs. And he advocated for the things they were wanting. Trump was not a D or R–not a conservative or a liberal, he was a Populist. And he got the support of various blocs of voters. He correctly sensed how lots of voters wanted change after 8 years of Obama and liberal agenda advancement.

Trump as president still retained that CEO mentality–that has not served him well as president. He wants only people around him who will agree with everything he says and does. Will not tolerate any opposing viewpoints or opinions. Hires cabinet members and then fires them on the first bump in the road.

Trump’s CEO mentality says I can name anything I want after myself–just like CEOs often name things after themselves (such as Mr. Dell naming his company Dell, or Mr. Walton naming his stores WalMarts…) Trump’s CEO mentality  does not comprehend the downside of adding his name to the Kennedy center, putting his own likeness to the 250 year U.S. anniversary coin, having people name airports after him, giving him awards and prizes he did not win, etc.

Trump’s personal life has been a mess when looking into it–multiple divorces, previous business failures, etc. Claims to be a Christian, yet often the way he acts and talks decries that.

In politics, there is a subtle nuance toward those who oppose you on X, Y or Z that successful political people understand and navigate through–to accomplish their goals and agenda. Reagan was the master of this. Trump, not so much. Trump CEO mindset says if you oppose me on issue X then you are my enemy and I will destroy you. On the other hand, Ronald Reagan was able to win Dem Speaker of the House Tip O’Neil over and get some things done by a D controlled congress.

A CEO is likely to bad mouth his competition (other companies). A good president should not be bad mouthing his fellow allied countries.

A CEO does not have to win people over to get them to like him or her. A good elected official MUST do that.

A CEO does not have to have regular national TV spots where he talks to the American public and explains why he is doing what he is doing and how this will benefit them.  An effective president MUST do that. (but then you would have to be able to speak coherently….)

A CEO does not have to have anyone in his administrative circle who dares to question the CEO.  A good president MUST have those people around.

A CEO does not have to get on TV regularly to explain what good things he has brought to the American public and how he has made their life better.  A good president MUST do that.

A CEO does not have to be want to be well liked by the public and be seen as a uniter A good president MUST be the opposite of that.
