I prefer Cornyn for the general election too, but my goodness, Talarico is a goofball’s goofball. He thinks a baby isn’t a person until he draws a breath. He thinks Jesus favors abortion. Just pull the baby out, cover its mouth so it cannot breath, and then do the Kermit Gosnell thing. This loon makes Jasmine Crockett look mainstream.

Here’s the thing. The south including Texas has a larger share of evangelical voters. And normally there are enough stupid people among them that vote Democrat on the grounds of Christian compassion (even though Dems are far from it), or looking out for the little guy instead of the interests of the rich…you know, all the talking points Dems use to try and siphon off some of the evangelical vote.
But Talarico claims to be a Christian. But his views are so far out in left field, it will insulate the evangelical community from being tempted by the normal appeals. The sort of appeals that some would listen to and vote for Jasmine Crockett.

Cornyn is a two-faced, disingenuous man who is establishment through and through. Paxton is an independent politician who would be a better asset in supporting the president’s policies than Cornyn. Furthermore, the Texas grass roots dislike Cornyn, and many will not come out and vote for him in the GE, unlike what they would do for Paxton.

Talarico will lose, perhaps badly. He won’t fool evangelicals. They will despise him for trying to ram abortion and trans stuff down their throats with the extra insult of claiming that Jesus is behind him and supports those views. Furthermore, at Talarico’s high water mark when he was winning the Dem primary, he was still down 2 to Paxton 46 to 44, and this in a University of Houston poll, a pollster that in 2024 got an F grade because of their blue skew of 8.8 against the final results.
