looks like 53% voted against codine. This is a disaster. He should have stepped aside.”

    LOL

Looks like 60% voted against Paxton.

    Should he have stepped aside?

Tina not taking the fact Paxton LOST to Cornyn very well.

    Crockett says there was cheating.

I hope a lot of her supporters stay home and don’t vote for Talarico.

Paul will show up shortly to affirm that another Democrat is out there sowing distrust in our election integrity.

Could it have been returning from a trip to N. Korea carrying drones and other weapons of middle East destruction?

  13. Considering the massive funding Cornyn had to defeat Paxton with ($70 million to $4.1 million) IMO Cornyn had a dismal return on his money, when measuring the small margin of difference between their final numbers. Paxton will go into the runoff as David to Cornyn’s Goliath incentivizing the grass roots to crawl over glass to vote for him.

  14. I also think, for the runoff, Trump will endorse a candidate to represent Texas in the Senate, and that candidate will be Paxton.

  16. ”An initiative imposing new voter identification requirements in California is one step closer to getting on the ballot.

Roughly 1.35 million signatures were collected during the effort to get the California Voter ID initiative on the Nov. 3 general election ballot. That’s well over the 800,000 signatures that were required. The initiative petitions will now go to the secretary of state to verify the signatures later this week.

The new initiative would require voters to show one of several forms of identification, according to supporters during a press conference on Tuesday morning.

Those who vote by mail would have to write the last four digits of their identification number on their ballot for it to be counted. The numbers would be from a form of identification of the voter’s choice.

State lawmakers who advocated for the measure said the effort has drawn bipartisan support.”

Bravo! A ballot measure I can support!

  17. Much like was done to Trump, the Cornyn faction pulled out all the stops to trash Paxton. Their ads were around the clock, non-stop throwing anything negative they could dig up on Paxton. The only avenue not pursued was Cornyn’s own unremarkable 21 year record in Congress. Not only did Cornyn take great pains to discredit his closest rival, he also went after Wesley Hunt with similar vitriol. When it comes to a runoff who do you think will get the Hunt vote? My bet is on Paxton, as Cornyn has burned bridges with Hunt supporters.

  18. So Cornyn plays to win? Good. I did not see any of Paxton’s ads. How much did he praise Cornyn? Were there puppies in the ads?

But seriously, I would vote for the winner of the GOP primary like I have done in every election since 1986. Hurt voters should either suck it up and vote for the party or just vote Dem.

  20. What you don’t get Bitter is that too much muckraking just becomes irritating noise, and more often than not backfires. The “fake” news and lawfare indictments turned off people, helping Trump more than it hurt him. IMO the same will happen to Cornyn, especially as he is seen as an establishment, Bush/McConnell Republican, and Paxton is favored by the enthusiastic grassroots.

Well this is unlikely to help John Cornyn. If I’m Wesley Hunt, after getting this ridiculous attack from John Thune’s Senate Leadership Fund, I go all in to campaign for Ken Paxton. Talk about lack of class from SLF.

  22. I didn’t click the link, but I don’t recall it being the responsibility of the SLF to fund and support primary challengers to take out sitting Republican incumbents.

  23. If Hunt wants a job in the Trump admin, he’s best off keeping his mouth shut. Would be better to endorse Cornyn and all that, but staying out like Cruz is doing is the best career enhancing choice for him right now.

  24. IF that’s real (hard to tell with AI slop everywhere), yeah, that’s a ridiculous statement by the SLF, even if they are just trying to dissuade primary challenges to their incumbents in general.

  25. Trump will endorse Cornyn imo. He will then ask Paxton not to run.

  28. I doubt Hunt will endorse Cornyn after the sharp rebuke by the SFL – headed by a close friend to Thune. Hunt also received a respectable chunk of votes – almost 300,000 – a sum you don’t want to patronize or piss off. I listened to a representative for grassroots in Texas this morning, and even if Cornyn won the runoff it is estimated 30% of these voters would not vote for Cornyn.

  29. Tina, I don’t think Paxton can be deterred or cajoled to simply give up on his run for senate.
