He should first preach it to all these nations in the middle east who won’t even accept and integrate the fragments of Muslim families left behind by Muslim vs. Muslim violence.

Of course, I bought into Rush LImbaugh’s theory that nominating Obama was a good idea since he was a weaker GE candidate than Hillary.

  5. Well, I waited till the next day for comments on the Super Bowl. Like I mentioned two weeks ago I thought that the Seahawks/Rams game was on a different level. In fact, it was probably the de-facto Super Bowl. Yesterday, Seattle put on a defensive clinic. Probably the best defensive showing I’ve seen in SBs. And I’ve watched all 60.

PS-didn’t mind the half time show by Bad Bunny. He didn’t come across as being a rapper but more of what I was call ‘salsa’ music.

Better than the Eagles leading KC 34-0 into the 4th quarter until they pulled all the starters on defense?

  7. Jason, Limbaugh wasn’t always right, but I do think HRC would have won bigger than O, just with a slightly different coalition (she holds more WWC, making PA and the rust Belt states bigger wins, for example). She hadn’t completely destroyed herself with things like Benghazi, the Russian “Reset,” and other nonsense from her time as SoS to 44. My guess, given the Kaine pick in ’16, is that she would have opted for a safe moderate like Evan Bayh, who was still a Dem Senator from an otherwise Red state, and made noises about including leading blacks into her Cabinet to appease the Obama crowd. AA turnout would not have exploded as it did, but she still would have won that handily along with other minority groups. White women would have been largely fine with her as a “reasonable” option to a McCain tarred by the GOP scandals, Iraq fatigue, and the economic bust after the Lehman collapse; Palin will offset nothing, he probably desn’t pick her with a woman heading the Dem ticket. My guess is that instead of 53-45, she wins 55-44, might still eke out IN with Bayh on the ticket, and perhaps trades NC for another state like MO and perhaps MT (he won both very narrowly, MT by 2% and MO by just 3,900 votes), although she could have won all three. Maybe even an outside chance at one of the Dakotas since Obama got 45% in each.

Obama in this counterfactual may sense that lackong executive experience is a net minus for him, and runs for IL GOV either in 2010 or 2014 (Blago will blow himsel up at some point, he was always shady), and we have to deal with him later on.

  8. It’s not about the type of music played during the show.

It is about in the universe of entertainment available, the NFL choice for the halftime show is an America hating Marxist and a band (Coldplay) that makes “f–k America” a standard of their performances.

As pointed out by Jennifer van Laar at Redstate, this selection was essentially a middle finger to America courtesy of the NFL.

I thought so too at the time.’

Now I don’t agree at all, Hillary in 2008 was even worse than Hillary 2016.

I think she would have been crushed by the male vote.

Maybe she could have eked out a narrower win than Obama, but i doubt it.

Hillary was a horrible candidate in ANY year.

  15. Rush’s Operation Chaos was more around the idea of stretching out the DEM primary as long as possible so there would be as much damage as possible to the brand and a possible party split that would be difficult to resolve by the general election. Hillary was behind Obama in the delegate count, so Rush wanted to prop her up and keep her going to damage Obama. I don’t believe Rush ever thought that Obama was the easier out in the general election.

  16. I lived in TX at the time, Rush very definitely wanted Obama to be the nominee.
He thought Obama was a third rate community activist rabble rouser and a media creation, which of course was right.
Where he was wrong was underestimating the power of the MSM to transform Obama from an obscure unaccomplished state legislator to President in about 4 years.

  17. Rush Limbaugh urged listeners in states with open primaries to cross party lines and support Hillary Clinton.

“I now believe he would be the weakest of the Democrat nominees,” Limbaugh, among the most powerful voices in conservative radio, said on his program. “I now urge the Democrat superdelegates to make your mind up and publicly go for Obama.”

“Barack Obama has shown he cannot get the votes Democrats need to win — blue-collar, working-class people,” Limbaugh said. “He can get effete snobs, he can get wealthy academics, he can get the young, and he can get the black vote, but Democrats do not win with that.”

Bad Bunny has smashed the record for the most watched Super Bowl Halftime Show in history with 135.4 million views.

The Tití Me Preguntó singer, 31, wowed crowds as he headlined Sunday’s Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Puerto Rican star Bad Buddy (real name Benito Martínez Ocasio) brought his Latin roots to the stadium with his catchy hits including NUEVAYoL, DtMF and EoO.

And while ring-wing commentators and President Trump were quick to criticize, it has become the most watched halftime show ever after live viewing figures were revealed.”

  52. That Swallowell internal is the warning bell for Dems to start consolidating behind one or two candidates. Thing is, Steyer is now on the airwaves, and he will drown out everyone, other Dems included. Historically, CA DEMS reject millionaires trying to buy their GOV nominations (airline CEO Al Checchi back in 1998 was an early favorite but finished way back behind ultimate Gov. Doofus), but the new crop of Dems is very different, and with so many being hardline enviro whackos, I can see them gravitating towards him since there are not many heavy hitters. Porter was in the lead a few months ago, and she’ll still win a bunch of AWFLs, but by and large, I do expect some consolidation over the next few months.

That said, I’d be thrilled if the GOP managed to serve up a lockout; it almost happened in 2014 for the Controller race (came up just ten thousand short against three Dems, one of them severely damaged by criminal allegations). Dems have done it a few times in very red legislative districts, so they have no right to complain if it does occur.

    Like

  53. If the lockout did miraculously happen, that would create a very interesting race. Bianco is all-in with the GOP, but could have appeal with Hispanics. Hilton seems like the prfect candidate to be a RINO who will distance himself from the national party and start pikcing fights with Trump to earn bona fides with coastal whites even while campaigning against fraud and cleaning up the streets of homeless camps etc. Would begin as a total tossup, but I havr to wonder if Dem turnout would be depressed. The 2016 Senate race was a Dem lockout, but it wasn’t a top of the ticket race, and there was a considerable undervote compared to the snoozer governor election. If, say, half a million Dems sat it out, that could be beneficial downballot.
