Merry Christmas!

AI isn’t ready for prime time. I asked it to create an image of a Nativity scene. The first try had Mary looking way too healthy for having just given birth to a 1 year old toddler, as shown in the image. A second try looked goofy. The third try had the head of baby Jesus attached to his hip with the body wrapped in swaddling clothes going perpendicular to the head. Then another try had some angels, but one of the shepherds had wings, and it gave one wing to Mary! Another try looked good except there was no baby at all in the manger. Not thrilled with the one shown above, but at least it has all the right body parts in the right places.

  1. First. Merry Christmas!

That’s is a lot of logs for a country without large trees.

  4. History Channel has several hours of shows on the life of Jesus. Commentary is by ministers, priests, and religious scholars. DW would probably accept some things and reject others. One point is that Catholic teaching is that Jesus was an only child and Mary remained a virgin. Protestant teaching is he had brothers and sisters. Compromise view is that Joseph had other children from a prior marriage.

  5. Looks like there is a nice little fire pit there ready to roast one of those lambs (?). Maybe they are goats, that fine too.

  7. Speaking of leg of lamb, my duly herb and spice encrusted Xmas leg of lamb, infused with garlic cloves, is about to hit the oven. Soon the heavenly smell of roast lamb will be wafting throughout the house.

Speaking of Xmas, my wife was not overly enthused with the new robot vacuum cleaner. Some people just don’t appreciate the effort others put into buying Xmas gifts.

I got a new parka, and pretended to be excited about it, when what I really wanted was a gift certificate to the gun store.

  8. Trump was taking calls from kids last night.

    He gave some good advice.

CHILD: Will Santa get mad if we don’t leave him cookies?

TRUMP: He won’t get mad – he’ll be VERY disappointed. Santa tends to be on the CHERUBIC side. You know what cherubic means? On the heavy side. Santa would like some cookies. You’d like to leave some cookies, right?

    CHILD: Yes!

TRUMP: You’re not gonna forget. I’d leave them. I think Santa has a serious appetite.”

the program above debunks these lies.

  16. I Decided to email DRUDGE and ask them for the new year can the possible be even MORE biased in their news coverage. Said I USED to come and visit DRUDGE often and click on their articles. Not so much any more.

When I tried to send the email, I was directed to a “pissed off customer.com” site and I had to register my email and then afgree to their TOS (Which I was not able to scroll through to read) so I did not agree to their TOS so I had to cancel the sending of the email.

I do not know how to count this toward my prediction of 20 radical you-know-what attacks on Jews and Christians over the holidays.

137 warrants issued and 120 women rounded up. Not sure how many separate attacks were planned and thwarted.

    _________________________________

    T’was the day after Christmas

    And all through  the house

    All were exhausted

    Including my spouse.

    A lone chimney stocking,

Still hung on by a thread

    Christmas cards lay piled

    And thoroughly read.

    Wrapping paper piles

    Still strewn everywhere,

All that’s left of the fruit basket

    Is one lonely pear.

    Santa’s sleigh now again parked

In his old North Pole garage,

    Until next year’s deliveries

    For next Christmas’s barrage.

    The reindeer now resting

    At their cool polar home,

    Still covered in sweat,

    And mouth-frothing foam.

    Mom and Dad’s many gifts

    For each kid–big or small.

    But now they both wondered

How they’d pay for it all.

    Outside, limp inflatables

    In heaps on the lawn,

    Looking like a drive-by

    Shooting had gone on.

    Christmas had been joyous

    Much shouting and hooting,

    But not like a riot

    With burnings and looting.

    Today it was more quiet

    A calm after the storm

    All exhausted but happy

Like a bird with a worm.

    Seasonal lunches and dinners

    With kinfolk and friends

    Gatherings and cantatas,

    Parties–seemingly no end.

    But now things are peaceful

    Unlike yesterday’s brawl

When at dinner uncle “No Trump”

    Punched “MAGA” man’s jaw.

    The kitchen was no longer

    A cookie factory scene

    With many hundreds of cookies

Made by our great cookie queen.

    Thirty-some cookie trays

for lots of friends / neighbors,

    Representing lots of love

    Lots of efforts and labors.

    The kitchen had rivaled

    Keebler cookie tree elves.

    With lots of ingredients

    Pulled from the shelves.

    But all were now gone

    Cookie sheets put away,

    The cookie tins empty

    Freezer shelves bare lay.

Now the sweets are near gone

    Nothing but crumbs,

    Someone ate all my favorites!

    No good lazy bums!

Now behind us is the frazzle

    Mailings of package and card,

    Of decorating and shopping

    Strenuous times–making you ”tard’. (tired)

    The day after Christmas

    We’re all catching our breath,

    And happy the effort

    Has not caused us death.

    A nice welcomed lull

    after the season’s storm,

    Looking forward for calm

    As life returns to norm.

    We take a deep breath

    Gone is Christmas frazzle,

    Over is the rush

    Behind us the hassle.

    We’re blessed with the gift

    Of new memories that lingers,

    Recalling the sounds

    Of some nice Yuletide singers.

    Reflecting on our life

    Of being blessed beyond measure,

    Of all that we have

    Things and people we treasure.

    The day after Christmas

We are all plump and stuffed,

    Made it through another year

    Without being cuffed.

    No more Christmas cleaning,

    Dusting and waxing,

    The shopping and mailing

    Can all be quite taxing!

    Today we’re thankful for food

    And wine to uncork,

    Praise for a semi-good mind–

    Body parts that still work.

    Truly thankful for our many

    Blessings large and small,

For eyes, ears, hands, and feet

And a car that doesn’t stall.

    Thankful for our country

And a good sense of humor,

    Thankful we are healthy

And for not having a tumor.

    Thankful for loved ones

    Our home and each wall,

    Thanks for the Baby Jesus–

    Greatest blessing of all.
