My one grandmother, Julia Gott, came to visit for Christmas. Weirdly, it started raining on one side of the of the yard, but not the other. My grandma is a spry thing so she was running around and laughing in the DRY side of the lawn. I wanted to get a picture of the rain with her in it so I said:
“Grandma Gott, run over by some rain, dear!”

BIG chess tournament for the top 8 players in the world was held in Alaska. After 8 straight hours of playing, they had their first break. They went outside but it was cold. They built a big fire, but got too hot so they all stripped down to their undies. People watching them said, “Imagine that. Chess nuts roasting by an open fire.”

Researchers went to northern Norway trying to find someone to be their expert guide to lead them to wild reindeer and tell all they know about reindeer habits and reindeer life. They asked the local store owner there if he knew who might fit the bill. The store owner said, “I know a guy who could do that, but he is a fricking communist.” The researchers said, “We don’t care about his politics. We want a reindeer expert.” The store owner said, Well then he is your man. Rudolf the ‘Red’ knows reindeer!”
These are the kind of things I think about and come up with when I go to bed at 1:30 and cannot get to sleep…

Tina, in another surprise this AM, industrial production rose .2% MoM and 2.52% annually, greatly beating expectations . This is the strongest it’s been in a while. As for the GDP print, a portion of that was due to higher payments for healthcare costs. However, the GDP report confirmed the good news in the PCE report from Friday, showing robust consumer consumption with no reduction in consumer savings rates. This is due to wage growth exceeding inflation for the first time in a while and another positive for the Administration’s economic policies. If consumer saving was tanking to fund that healthcare component of GDP growth, that wouldn’t have been good. Fortunately, the economy is starting to lift consumer boats. Hopefully this continues with sufficient magnitude to impact the midterms next year

Now, I know Tina doesn’t think his ruling should count because he has a foreign name, but she will just have to deal with it.
“District Court Judge Roger Benitez has issued a summary judgment decision finding Parental Exclusion Policies UNCONSTITUTIONAL & issuing a Class-Wide Permanent Injunction in Thomas More Society case Mirabelli v. Olson. In a first-of-its-kind, class-wide, precedent-setting victory, a federal court has permanently blocked California AG Rob Bonta and the CA Dept. of Education from forcing teachers to lie to parents about their own children’s secret gender transitions—declaring parents have a constitutional right to know and teachers have a constitutional right to share the truth.”

Now, when the Dems are in power they will try to impeach this judge for such a ruling.
But Tina and Chicon will be ok with that, since they believe what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Before I jumped on my laptop and visited HHR today beginning at 8:59, had already put together 12 plates of cookies together to be delivered today. I was up about 7:15 this morning. Several hours before I like to roll out of bed.
Caught hell from the missus when she got back home (she left to shop and deliver other cookies because I was in the garage on the laptop without phone–and the dentist had been calling me repeatedly and calling them calling her to see if I could come in today for filling replacement at 2:40 instead of 3:10. “Why don’t you answer your phone?”
“Because it was in the bedroom….”
Oh well.

Having some breakfast now…
Got a sh-t load of cookies to deliver today all over the county before and after dentist appt.
Tonight is gift wrapping time for me.
Tomorrow church service at 3, invited out for Christmas Eve dinner at friends house at 5:30 and who knows what else.
Saturday my brother’s widow and one daughter are coming for dinner here, Sunday is church, Monday is another gathering here of wife’s beach girls and their husbands, Tuesday is off to a Christmas dinner and show, Wed. is out to dinner on new years eve with a gaggle of friends from supper club. Then we get to start taking down and packing away all the Christmas decorations…and they REDECORATING the whole interior and exterior with SNOWMEN decorations….
Though it SHOULD be, it is (sadly) NOT my most wonderful time of the year. Too much stuff on the calendar makes it so. An especially stressful thing is trying to figure out what to buy a woman who has everything.
Extremely stressful…especially for an old guy like me.

we all know that bunu is openly antisemitic, but the question I have is for Jan and Tina, and really anyone willing to answer. Now that Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson and others like them are openly antisemitic, has this made anyone here join their hate?
Owens is out the pushing a book that Jews were running the slave trade. Sounds like Henry Ford 100 years ago pushing The Protocols.
Is Bunu still the only antisemite here?

I have to go to various stores to try to find a cube of 25 Black and Mild cigars specially priced art 89 cents each. I buy one box of original flavor and one box of sweets. (The three other flavors I do not like, but they are always 99 cents). Hardly ever does the same store have both original and sweets at the 99 cent price. Usually, the originals and sweets are $1.39 each.
So I go to one store and ask my usual, “do you have a cube of 25 Black and Mild originals and/or sweets for 99 cents each?” They usually say no. But this time the clerk says, “I don’t have originals for 99 cents, but I have some for 89 cents each.” I bought two boxes of originals. They had no sweets at my price.
On my way home I stop at another store to ask if they have a box of sweets for 99 cents each. They not only had one, they had TWO. I bought them both.
I scored these all on the same day within 5 minutes time.
