  32. The PCE report released today is generally good ,Core PCE dropped down to 2.7% YoY,  reflecting progress toward the Federal Reserve’s 2% inflation target and affirming the CPI trends noted yesterday. The headline PCE price index rose 0.3% month-over-month, in line with expectations, while the year-over-year rate held steady at 2.8%., The cooling in core inflation has strengthened expectations for a Federal Reserve rate cut in January 2026. Traders are now pricing in over a 70% probability of a 25-basis-point cut at the January meeting, up from previous estimates..

However, the report also revealed that consumer spending remains resilient and incomes are continuing to rise at a rate greater than inflation. Personal spending increased 0.3%, supported by a 0.4% rise in disposable income, while the personal savings rate remains steady at 4.7%, indicating the consumer remains strong as the economy rebounds from the prior inflationary cycle. . The increase in current-dollar personal income in September primarily reflected increases in compensation and personal income receipts on assets. The $65.1 billion increase in current-dollar PCE reflected increases of $63.0 billion in spending on services and $2.1 billion in spending on goods.

All in all a good report

  47. So there was a former Brown student who was now a homeless person living in the basement of the building where the shooting took place at Brown U. HIS info was instrumental in breaking the case. He posted stuff on Reddit about the guy including car and CA lic. plate. He came forward THREE DAYS LATER to tell the police about his encounter.

And Brown officials to this day STILL cannot tell reporters how many students were in the study hall where the shooting happened, or whether the shooter came in from the back of the room or the front of the room

And the Brown U officials had no knowledge he was there. The Brown police security had no knowledge he was there. Who is running this Larry, Curly, Moe job?

Flashback to 1961 or 1962. My older brother had run off and gotten married. His wife later was pregnant and gave birth to their son. When the boys was only about 9 months old, the wife and son both suddenly disappear. FBI is contacted a day or so later.

WITHIN HOURS of being contacted, the FBI reports to my brother and my parents that brother’s wife and son are both OK. The brother’s wife left on her own free will. (later married that fellow). They are travelling with person XXXX, who is in the military, in a certain vehicle. They are in Arkansas and are headed to TX. (brother soon divorced this woman.) This was in the early 1960s when we did not have all this electronic mumbo jumbo, etc.

I also have a first cousin who has been married for 50+ years to an FBI agent (they live in CT) and he has a career FBI guy who was very competent.

    FBI today seems flawed.

Sorry, Bitter might be that shallow but I stopped watching the NFL when they allowed the flag to be disrespected and it became obvious they were using their immense wealth and influence to promote a radical left wing agenda that has nothing to do with football.

Nothing to do with the Broncos.

  51. FBI today seems flawed.”

I think flawed is the wrong word.

The government is comprised of people who come from our present educational system. Not only from the educational system of the last 40 years, but a significant number come from the elite portion of the educational system, the Ivy League and other “top” schools, which are even more skewed to the left than the already leftist academia

This is not deep state, as idiots like Chicon believe. It is merely people who have been indoctrinated to think a certain way, and their actions as government officials reflect that.

Unfortunately, it is not just in government. It permeates the corporate world and even the military.

Getting rid of the Comeys and Wrays and Mileys and Smiths, etc. is not enough. You have to change where they came from. That is a much bigger challenge.

  52. Here is what the NFL could do if they really wanted to “Inspire Change” and promote “social justice”.

They could fund charter schools which give minorities an opportunity to flee bad schools. They could fund college chairs and departments that promoted capitalism and entrepreneurship and self reliance. They could defend America’s exceptionalism instead of attacking it.

    But instead….

correct, but you can’t underestimate the effect of Mueller, Comey, and Wray on hiring in this organization for the past 30 years. Everyone hired was under them and merely changing current leadership still leaves you with a bureaucracy of concentrated PC shite. They purged all the existing by the book law enforcement types and brought in a lot of DEI hires as well as left of center candidates that had no problem with politicized law enforcement. It’s going to take at least 8 years of new management hiring to bring in people less left of center and more competent, mission oriented. I’ve had some experience turning around an organization or 2 and believe me it’s not easy and definitely a long term project to effectively and permanently change the culture. I’m actually quite impressed with what Kash and Bondi have done with the FBI and DOJ so far, popular opinion to the contrary notwithstanding. We definitely need a JD presidency to comp, este the job.
