  3. Trump’s speech tonight:

Not sure what it will be about. But I hope he has a smart person write it all out, and all of his facts cited are 100% accurate (that will drive the fact checkers crazy) and then he reads it verbatim and does NOT go off of Trump tangents like “Rob Reiner was a horrible person…”, or “I am president and I can do what I want and I will tear down the whole white house if I want to…” or “Did you hear the joke about the Hispanic illegal who…” or “Because of me, that is why gasoline prices are under $2 a gallon in most states…”

What it SHOULD be about is:

    FIRST

–the evil hate filled killers in Australia who mowed down innocent Jewish people

–the evil hate filled wack job who shot and killed the one WV guardsman in DC (Sarah) and shot another in the head.

–the evil hate filled whack job who did the shooting at Brown Univeristy

–the wack jobs who were arrested in CA plotting New Years Eve bombings

and telling everyone R-D-I to tone down the hate speech (hard to do when he engages in it so often)

    And

    SECOND

Maybe explain what the hell he is doing re” Venezuela and how it is in U.S. people’s interest to do so

    THIRD

Maybe announce the instituting of lots of serious sanctions against Russia to cripple them economically and force Putty Poot to the bargaining table to stop the war against Ukraine

    FOURTH

A litany of early Christmas presents he and his administration have brought to the American people such as:

–the securing of the southern border that everyone on one side said was impossible

–over 1.5 million illegals have self deported

–over 500,000 illegals caught and deported

–finding over 50,000 of the illegal aliens children who were scatterered hither and yon by the Biden cartel

–Bringing pledges of $17BILLION in investment to the U.S. from other countries that will create JOBS for AMERICANS

–Lowering the inflation rate (compared to Biden)

–Lower price of gas (compared to Biden)

–the fact that wages and paychecks and buying power is now exceeding inflation and people’s purchasing power is increasing

–the fact that federal income taxes have been cut significantly

–the fact that we now have cut the federal workforce by 250,000 people

–the fact that we found and have cut an enormous amount of USAID and other money being frittered away to other countries with no benefit to U.S. citizens or taxpayers

–the fact that we have cut X billions of fraud in federal government spending within the U.S.

–the fact that the feds are going full bore to prosecute the Medicaid and other fraud ($1Billion to $3 Billion just in MN ALONE) sand we are going to eith put the perpetrators in prison for a long time or deport this asses

–the fact that we have brought in$X billions in tariff revenue due to Trump policies

–the fact that crime has been greatly REDUCED in the cities where Trump sent in the Natiojal Guard

    –etc.

Even if you include the people who self deported, we are nowhere near 3 million.

Trump is on track for about 600,000 deportations in 2025, as of the end of October it was about 527,000.

That is nothing to sneer at, but if there are 20 million illegals it is about 5%.

In addition, about 1.5 million have “self deported”, but that includes everyone who would have left anyway, probably only about a third of them were illegals who intended to stay.

Unfortunately, because of the shutdown, they didn’t compile the monthly breakdown, but clearly housing , rental and energy are leading the way. These are all tied to the administrations immigration policies as studies have shown a strong correlation between those categories and immigration . Of course that’s not the only thing driving them (particularly for energy) but the impact is real.

Since January 20, 2025, DHS enforcement operations have resulted in more than 605,000 deportations. DHS has prioritized removing the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens as part of the Trump Administration’s efforts to return law and order to the United States.”

2024: GOP +2.7 Resulted in R220-D215 (RCP Final average GOP +0.3)

    Observations:

Often the turnout can be intensified in deep blue or deep red districts, while still being less intense in competitive districts.

Only in 2018 did the RCP average over-estimate the GOP’s prospects, by 1.1.

What is remarkable is the difference between 2016 where the spread was GOP +1.1 and it resulted in 241 seats and the last two years where the spread was nearly GOP +3 and we barely got the majority. This is partly due to California cheating in counting every cat, dog, and dead person in the census.

But this year with all the redistricting going on, there is absolutely no way to predict what will happen, or what RCP average we could see to feel safe. And with 2.5 million illegals departed, they won’t be voting this time either.

All that said, it would be reasonable to see GOP +2 in the RCP average a place where we might feel somewhat safe. Here is what I would say for the RCP average and what it might mean:

    GOP +2 – 220-215
    GOP +1 – 218-217
    EVEN – 216-219
    DEM +1 – 214-221
    DEM +2 – 212-223

Observations on Trump speech last night

–not the kind of thing that Trump enjoys doing. He likes to appear before big crowds of supporters and do a lot of winging it with lots of raw meat thrown out. But he needed to tell the story of the accomplishments of the admin. The MSM sure is not about to do that.

–commentators say it was not an inspiring speech. (IMO that was not the purpose)

–have heard commentators say Trump showed no compassion/passion…I agree. It was a factual matter of fact info-mercial to bypass the Dems/MSM meme of “AFFORDABILITY” and that the economy is in ruins.

–Do not think it will move the needle much of Trump fav/unfav numbers. (I still do not like him as a person.) But SHOULD move the needle in how people say the economy is doing and what they expect in the next 6 months I predict a move of @5 pts.

–apparently somewhere in speech Trump read comma instead of coma (or maybe vice versa) I missed hearing that..

–I was pleased that the speech was not one where Trump went out there trying to make people like him as a person. That is baked in on both sides.

–I think Trump needs to do more of these, to remind people of where we were prior to him being elected and where we are now. Read the script, then sign of

–RE fact checking…the only MSM fact checker I saw was one who said TRump saying there were 25 MM illegals let in during Biden…it was only about 11MM..

  98. Good last minute gift idea. “Toxic Empathy” by Allie Beth Stuckey

On Sale at Amazon for just $16.

We are told that empathy is the highest virtue—the key to being a good person. Is that true? Or has “empathy,” like so many other words of our day—“tolerance,” “justice,” “acceptance”—been hijacked by bad actors who exploit compassion for their own political ends?

In Toxic Empathy, Allie Beth Stuckey argues that empathy has become a tool of manipulation by left-wing activists who bully people into believing that they must adopt progressive positions to be loving. She explores the five most heated issues through which toxic empathy is deployed: abortion, gender, sexuality, immigration, and social justice. Progressives use catchy mantras to present their perspective as empathetic, like “abortion is healthcare,” “love is love,” or “no human being is illegal,” but in each case, they ignore the other side of the moral equation. For example, abortion is presented as compassionate for the woman, but what about the human life the procedure kills?

This book isn’t about killing empathy; it’s about submitting our empathy to God’s definitions of love, goodness, and justice. Stuckey exposes the logical pitfalls and moral consequences of toxic empathy, equipping Christians with research-backed, Biblical truths to dismantle the progressive lies that have permeated our culture—and our church.

Mr. Martin will instead keep the findings under seal. He believes that looking back so publicly and painfully at the past would prove counterproductive for the party as it tries next year to take back power in Congress, according to a D.N.C. spokeswoman who spoke on the condition of anonymity to share the thinking behind his decision.
