what about the precedent set by democrats when they gerrymandered multiple times after a 10 year census for political advantage? Should we stick to the old precedent or let the dems only do this?

Me, personally, I’d like republicans to play by the New Democrat rules if a States constitution allows it.

The data I’ve seen shows that if Republicans gerrymander in red states with constitutions that allow it like the Dems have already done in blue states, we will add significantly more Republican seats. The reality is, even with a California redraw, the Dems have already squeezed their States dry. Red states have far more seats to harvest in a gerrymander than current blue states.

  25. Bitter, many Dems were upset with Gavin starting the current battle because the Dems had wrung almost everything out of partisan gerrymandering. The Republicans had lots of room to do so.

Are you of the opinion that the Dems will simply decide to loosen the gerrymandering if the Republicans play nice and unilaterally disarm?

  27. So….Cash Cow has been digging into the facts about Brian Cole Jr.

–He IS Black, (not the white one from Fairfax VA). [Neither Cow nor I have seen any photos on national TV news of Cole. But you can find his photo using the intertube. Perhaps the MSM feels it would somehow be racist to show a photo of him on TV.]

–He DOES have a drivers license because “his” car was spotted driving and then parking less than 1/2 mile from where the first pipe bomb was placed. So my original supposition is that he did not have a car and possibly not even a drivers license was wrong. And instead of being on the autism spectrum as I originally suspected, maybe he is just an Erkel-ish socially awkward type. [“Steven Quincy Urkel is a fictional character on the American ABC/CBS sitcom Family Matters, portrayed by Jaleel White.]

–Apparently, he is now 33 years old. (27 when pipe bombs planted) Since he IS the 33 year old Brian Cole, this one may be the one who is a bail bondsman who works with his dad in a bail bonding company. I have read reports (unconfirmed) that they did a lot bail bond work with illegal immigrants. (again, Cash Cow has not been able to confirm this report she ran across).

–The FBI has all sorts of credit card records that show he bought all sorts of specific things he used to make the bombs

–the FBI also says his cell phone pings put him in the area where the pipe bombs were placed.

    ***********************

I would bet dollars to donuts that the FBI also has the slam dunk credit card info where he bought the specific sneakers shown on video cameras that he was wearing the night he (allegedly) planted the pipe bombs.

    *****************

–A BIG question would be if he was part of a bigger conspiracy with others ordering him to do that he allegedly did (I do not subscribe to that idea, because smarter people in a big plot would be better at hiding all the above (credit card records of purchases of Bomb-y stuff, cell phone pings placing him there on that night the bombs got planted, video of his car there on that night)

–THE BIGGER question is the FBI had all this evidence 5 years ago, but made no arrest?

[I think the FBI then did not give a crap about the planter of dud pipe bombs. They were fully weaponized to go identify 1500 people who went into the Capitol building.

–And the public needs to know more about Brian Cole, where he works, social media footprint, where he was on the political spectrum, etc.

    3) a form of mutually assured destruction where both sides land enough blows to deter the other side.

I disagree. The only way to stop the Dems from ever doing lawfare again is to thoroughly and violently employ it against them in response. If we do nothing, they will just continue to do it again when they are in power. They need repercussions. .

Some reports say Brian Cole Jr. worked in his father’s (Brian Cole Sr.) bail bond business. Perhaps His mom divorced his father, and later remarried???

So maybe he became screwed up in the head due to divorce and having no male role model in his home?

Or was his stepfather present in his growing up???

I never defended the FBI’s actions during the first Trump and Biden’s administration, I have always said the FBI leadership was completely politicized and agenda driven under Comey and continuing under Wray (btw, a Trump appointee!)

My defense of the FBI was limited to opposing morons who wanted it defunded and/or dismantled. The FBI is an essential law enforcement agency, and contrary to idiots like Tina and Chicon and NYC who think the function of the 35,000 FBI agents is only to persecute Trump, the FBI deals with terrorism espionage, drug trafficking, smuggling, kidnapping, embezzling, fraud, organized crime, people trafficking and dozens of other types of crimes.

Fortunately, I think his picks this second term have been outstanding. Rubio is a gem, Zeldin, Bessent not far behind. The only one that I’m still on the fence with is Bondi. Her handling of the Epstein matter was amateur at best ( the list is on my desk). But then again, Trumps statements about the files and flip flop from his campaign haven’t been much better. I reserve judgement on Bondi for now. The worst pick was the democrat labor secretary. However, I thought her comments at the recent cabinet meeting about working to eliminate illegal aliens from the labor pool were spot on.

Thankfully, no wrays, scarammuci’s etc. near this White House in the second term.

Former President Donald Trump specifically stated that “the biggest mistake I made was I picked some people… I picked some people that I shouldn’t have picked” during his appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. He elaborated: “I picked some great people, you know, but you don’t think about that. I picked some people that I shouldn’t have picked… bad, disloyal people.”

    That’s a pretty clear “I” there.

Bitter has been a lifelong conservative and Republican, always votes Republican no matter how bad the R candidate is. But he is a RINO.

Trump was a liberal Dem most of his life, rented out the R label for convenience, contributed to Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, the Democratic Party, Planned Parenthood, and defended Dem economic policies as “better than Republican”, partial birth abortions, “deficits don’t matter, print more money”, “universal health care paid for by the government” and advocates for the failed Dem AFL-CIO protectionist and isolationist policies of the last 70 years. But he is not a RINO.
