  6. As it turns out, the early vote in Virginia looked good because it was high propensity voters voting early, not low propensity voters. Sears ran a horrible campaign. Youngkin and Miyares were good candidates and dragged Sears across the line four years ago. They should have banked the hard to get votes during early voting. Not sure it would have been enough for Sears, but Miyares could have won. Too many MAGA voters just think that it doesn’t matter, Trump will fix everything, so they don’t have to vote. Its stupid, and they should know better, but they don’t. Virginia is gone for good. Dems will have at least 64 house of delegates seats, up from 51. They will redistrict to lock in their gains. –NJ and VA voters have chosen to become sanctuary states that welcome illegals, allow girls who identify as boys in boys locker rooms and showers, and create an even more powerful state government. Power is FINITE. either the people have these powers, or the government has an even larger amount of the powers.

    ________

–NYC voters have chosen to have an avowed socialist who hates the basic premises of the The under 30 voters voted for Mamdani at an 80% clip.

Low info voters, low personal asset voters, disconnected voters, voters who know the least about government and economics and real life, voters who live in the here and now and to them the future is something they do not care about or plan for. Take from the rich and give to the poor is viewed favorably by them.

I think the next 4 years will prove VERY troublesome for the residents there. Increased crime, and more vacancies in police officers ranks, economic problems exacerbated, budget issues for their $190BBBB/year budget.

–TODAY, an exit poll says TWO-THIRDS of D voters in VA voted D as a protest against Trump as their main reason why they voted D. One-third of R voters said they voted R as a support for Trump and Trump policies. I mentioned last night that one exit poll said about 1/3 of voters who voted for the Ds said they voted for the Ds as a protest against Trump an his policies.Last night, I actually was surprised that number was not higher.

Yes, the elections were successfully nationalized by the Dems.

    __________

–Heard today on radio that lots of people who are blaming Trump and Repubs for the shutdown actually have no knowledge or understanding of the filibuster in the Senate and how that 60% threshold is the reason why the Dems have shut down government. Rs assume everyone understands that. The majority of people (who are not government policy wonds) simply do NOT know or understand the filibuster and how the MINORITY Ds are the reason for the shutdown.

  42. And speaking of economy…

I STILL get monthly emailed, detailed reports about WV government revenue–even after being out of the legislature for 9 years now. My friend who was the Senate President made sure they put me on the mailing list. He was the former student of mine who was elected to WV House of delegates in 2002 like me. He was primaries by a guy who is now actively trying to primary Sen. Shelley Moore Capito. He has positioned himself to be part of the right wing nuts coalition.

ANYWAY, the reports also have the condition of the many state retirement programs for various state worlds and for teacfher all across WV (who are considered State employuees for retirement).

WV state government was not putting in much at all into the retirement system for DECADES. The unfunded liabilty in the two largest retirements systems –police government workers, and teachers–were HUGE–MANY BILLIONS. The Teachers Ret. Sys. (TRS) ALONE was underfunded by about $4BB or $5BB and was it was only funded at 9%. Government employees (PERS) was better than 9% but still awful.

In 1995 the state enacted a 40 year payment plan where they would annually put in an ever increasing amount of money into those accounts to make them solvent (and pay down the unfunded liability). This year’s EXTRA payment just for the teachers ret. sys. is about $400MM.

The most recent monthly report shows that ALL TEN of the retirement systems are in TREMENDOUSLY good shape. Most are well over 100% funded and no unfunded liability. The JUDICIAL Ret. Sys. is over 230% FULLY FUNDED.

The government employees (PERS) is now funded at 101% and the TRS (teachers) is at 83% Experts say that is you hove your retirement assets at 85% or better of your unfunded liability (what you would need if ALL employees retired RIGHT NOW) then you are considered fully funded.BEcdause the odds that EVERYONE I’ll retire TODAY is infinitesimally small.

In WV’s $5.4 BB budget, we are putting in an EXTRA $430MM this year (annual payment per the 40 year payment plan started in 1995), and this will keep ballooning until it reaches over $700MM in the last few years of the 40 year’s plan. We actually can END the 40 year payment plan EARLY and have extra $400MM, $500MM, $600MM, $700++MM that we could either give back to the taxpayers thru lower taxes or spend those extra hundreds of millions a year on government services.

THAT is a BIG chunk of money in a $5.4 BB annual budget.

If you die before the scheduled date, who cares? You have no value to the government anyway.

Democratic Party economics are terrifying, but more terrifying is their lack of regard for human life. They truly are the party of death. Life has no purpose or meaning, and only the government matters.

I watched the documentary movies about a newly married non-practicing Jewish couple in Romania, who became evangelical Christians right before WWII. They survived the Nazi occupation, barely, but then had to survive the Communist takeover.

As bad as the Nazis were, the communists were ten times worse. They did finally get out and were able to enjoy what was left of their lives after a long career of being physically tortured just because they were Jews and Christians. The husband never walked right again.

  58. More pushback on the “repudiation of Trump” BS.

    Stephen Kruiser:

The Dems’ flying monkeys in the mainstream media will have a field day with this, loudly proclaiming a huge repudiation of President Trump. There’s no basis in reality for that. I am not at all surprised that things went poorly for Republicans in four states that voted for Kamala Harris last year. Voting Democrat wasn’t very popular last year, and it hasn’t gotten any cooler this year. My stomach isn’t going to be twisted into knots because people who voted to send the country down the leftist toilet last year are continuing to do so.

One of the things that I have been saying in the last year is that the Dems’ extremist behavior since the presidential election last year isn’t doing anything to win back the voters they have been losing. They have essentially been playing to a captive audience, one that enjoys being captive. So the audience was a lot louder on Tuesday night, it was still the same audience, nobody new showed up.

Two of the races will make it nigh on impossible for the Dems to come up with a sales pitch to win back those who felt that the party had become uncomfortably extreme. Now the aforementioned commie jihadist will be front and center for the Democrats as the mayor of the biggest city in the country. Virginia Dems giving Jay Jones a pass for openly fantasizing about murdering Republicans isn’t going to make the case to flyover country Dems and independents that the party is making a return to normalcy. The only thing that they could have done worse in that regard is elect a drag queen serial killer to one of the offices up for grabs last night.

Tuesday’s results could work to some slight advantage for the GOP in next year’s midterms. The spotlight will be on Mamdani all the time once he’s in office, and prolonged exposure to him can’t possibly work out well for the Democrats.

Again, these are just first impressions of mine. I had zero optimism that things would go well for the GOP in Virginia, and the best option in NYC was, as I wrote yesterday, a guy we all despised prior to this mayoral race. There was no realistic reason to hope for the best. When you’re prepared for the worst, the worst doesn’t hit so hard.

I am going to miss Manhattan, though. I spent a lot of quality time doing gigs there when it wasn’t a Third World country.”

By then the economy better be humming along, grocery and gas prices lower, peace reigning on earth.

Rs won’t win the midterms running on “foreign investments”, humiliating Canada and Europeans, trade wars, or even men in women’s sports.

Justice Kavanaugh maybe had the most critical line of questioning of all the justices today — from a purely commonsense perspective. If Congress delegated to the president the power to completely shut down all foreign trade to the U.S. — as the plaintiffs challenging the Trump tariffs seem to concede — how could it possibly have contemplated not ceding the much lesser power of imposing tariffs on foreign trading partners?

    10. Which raises a legitimate question about Dem and their staunch support of Muslim countries, especially radical Muslim countries.,,

The Dems are SUPPOSEDLY pro-LBGTQ, pro trans, pro women.

Muslim countries are very ANTO LBGTQ, trans, women (please say Sharia Law)

      How do Dems reconcile this?

Supporting Muslim countries that abuse, kill or throw in jail LBGTQs and trans folks? and supporting Muslim countries that support Sharia law denying equal rights to women and allowing and sanctioning killing of women for various things like dating outside their religion.

      Dems are adamantly anti military.

Dems are also in favor of world peace.

Dems cannot see that if you have a strong military you can prevent wars, but if you have a weak underfunded military you will simply invite more wars.

You all have seen the news clip on Jan. 6 where Trump is addressing the crowd of supporters in the morning…

The one where Trump says, “…and later on today we will be going to the capitol building, to fight like hell.”?

      ****************************

His actual statement was “…and later on today we will be going to the capitol building, to cheer on our brave Republican congressmen and senators as they….”

and then about an hour and a half later Trump said “…and fight like hell.”

I bet fewer than 2% of the public KNOWS that this “quote” of Trump’s is MAJORLY edited with over an hour+++ of Trump words EDITED OUT in that speech before he said “fight like hell.”

      Big difference.

Some due to lackluster R Gov. campaign.

Say…how tall is Karlin Younger, the young woman (from Madison WI who works for a company that had just gotten a $90MM contract with the FBI…) who ‘found’ the pipe bomb near the RNC behind/beside the garbage can when she suddenly went to do laundry at 12:40 p.m.

Cow says videos of Karlin Younger walking down the street shows a similar walking gate with the video of the person who planted the bomb at the DNC….

    25. Some major news regarding the Virgin Mary.

I am not taking sides, but full disclosure, I was never guilty of calling her “Mediatrix of All Graces”

“The Vatican’s Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (DDF) issued a doctrinal note this week, Mater Populi Fidelis (“Mother of the Faithful People of God”), that rejects both of those titles for the Blessed Mother. Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernandez signed the document, and Pope Leo XIV approved it.

When the Vatican released the document publicly, it stirred up quite a bit of controversy, especially among more old school traditional Catholics who often seem to be dead set against any sort of clarification of doctrine they feel endangers the teaching of the Catholic Church. Keep in mind, these titles are not dogma, meaning one doesn’t have to ascribe to them in order to be part of the Church.

Many, myself included, feel this clarification actually helps move the Church one step closer to unifying a highly fractured Christianity and removes unnecessary stumbling blocks for those Christians outside of communion with Rome. And that, especially in an era like ours that is hostile to the faith, is critical for saving Western civilization.

“When an expression requires many, repeated explanations to prevent it from straying from a correct meaning,” the note went on to say, “it does not serve the faith of the People of God and becomes unhelpful.”

The document then says that the title of “Co-Redemptrix” risks “eclipsing the exclusive role of Jesus Christ” and “would not be a true honor to his Mother.” It also discourages Catholics from using the title “Mediatrix of All Graces,” which it says lacks solid theological grounding from Sacred Scripture and contains “limits that do not favor a correct understanding of Mary’s unique place.”

Rather than use confusing titles that could potentially cause theological confusion for Catholics or those looking into the Church, Catholics should use titles cemented in Mary’s motherhood such as “Mother of God” and “Mother of the Faithful People of God.”
