For some reason “the alien beings (probably)” won’t let me post these VERY enlightening articles.

Oh well. I tried to warn you all.

  10. Bad poll for Sears and Miyares by Emerson.

The silver lining for Miyares is that it has Spanberger at +12 and Jones at +2, suggesting a 10 point fall off.

So if say Spanberger is only really up by 8 then Miyares would win.

As you remember, given the option of a sheet of paper with Trump’s picture and another with Kamala’s picture, she ate the Trump picture first, a sure sign of her support.

Trump should be wary of losing the llama vote.

“Astronomers are on edge tonight as 3I/ATLAS, the mysterious interstellar object already baffling scientists, has started erupting literally. New telescope images reveal miniature geysers bursting from its surface, releasing plumes of vapor and dust into the darkness. What’s stranger is that these jets appear timed and patterned, almost rhythmic, as if controlled.”

  20. final Virginia early voting numbers. Using the breakdowns on the congressional district margins last year, compared against 2021 and 2024, Sears is in a slightly better position than Youngkin was. Obviously there will be a lot of people who voted for Youngkin but now are voting Spanberger. But the numbers are not terrible for the GOP:

    VA-01 – Trump +4.9: +55585 over 2021
    VA-02 – Trump +0.2: +32885 over 2021
    VA-03 – Harris +34.7: +4238 over 2021
    VA-04 – Harris +32.7: +17571 over 2021
    VA-05 – Trump +12.3: +35796 over 2021
    VA-06 – Trump +23.9: +28243 over 2021
    VA-07 – Harris +2.9 : -7197 below 2021
    VA-08 – Harris +49.7: +8117 over 2021
    VA-09 – Trump +44.1: +37807 over 2021
    VA-10 – Harris +8.4: +145 over 2021

  24. Walt, you should read Arthur C. Clarke’s book “Rendezvous with Rama”.

It describes a huge interstellar craft that enters the solar system and is boarded to

discover its secrets before it leaves.

  25. Rendezvous with Rama is a 1973 science fiction novel by British writer Arthur C. Clarke. Set in the 2130s, the story involves a 50-by-20-kilometre (31-by-12-mile) cylindrical alien starship that enters the Solar System. The story is told from the point of view of a group of human explorers who intercept the ship in an attempt to unlock its mysteries. The novel won the Hugo, Locus, and Nebula awards upon its release, and is regarded as one of the cornerstones in Clarke’s bibliography. The concept was later extended with several sequels, written by Clarke and Gentry Lee.

  28. So, DW, it’s counterintuitive; Dem early turnout overall down, with noticeable lagging in government heavy suburbs and exurbs, as well as heavily AA areas. Meanwhile, republican areas have turned out an extra 158,000 votes this time. Maybe we cannibalized our vote and Dems will come out in force tomorrow, though that would be a reversal of voting patterns.

“I spoke about the change that had been made in D.C. and how now you can “walk down the street, and have your daughter who is ten years old and meet you in the park, and she’s going to be okay.”

O’Donnell interjected, “In certain parts of D.C. I live in D.C.”

Trump smiled, then leaned in, “So you tell me. How big a difference is D.C. now compared to what it was a year ago? Right? You have to be honest with me.” He said he has people in the White House coming up to him, thanking him for being able to feel safe now to walk to work.

“You know that too. You live here, you know that too. You see a difference? You see a difference?” he pressed.

Then she responded, “I think I’ve been working too hard, I haven’t been out that much.”
