Headline: Unbelievable: Antony Blinken Gives Biden Credit for Gaza Deal — Shows He Is Incapable of Shame
Biden responds: Oh earth rider, thanks for the great lakes! Gonzaga Deal? Yes, I understand, uh, th- they have a good team. I am please to accept this award. Where’s Jackie? She should be here. She was part of this. Can Chuck still stand up?
Connecting some dots… Ex-Biden US Attorney Matt Graves helped run the Jan 6th prosecutions. His wife Fatima Graves sits on the Indivisible board. Indivisible runs the “Hands Off & No Kings” rallies. Always the same criminals. The operations never stop.
There seems to be some genuine efforts being made to mend long term problems plaguing the Middle East. My heart went out to the 20 Hamas captives being released. And, Trump’s spontaneous trip to Israel, where he met with the hostage families for over an hour, going on to Egypt to sign agreements with other countries, was impressive. Trump is turning out to be an historic figure in international politics.
There is only one way to try to influence a new Gaza, and that is to take away the Hamas propaganda machine that only allows their info to filter through.
I hope Israel and Trump are working on that.
Because if Hamas controls the narrative, they will eventually gain control again.
Trump is a protectionist and an isolationist, has never deviated from that in 50 years, his most (and maybe only) lasting conviction.
The Abraham Accords and the Gaza Peace Deal were real diplomatic achievements for which he deserves much credit. His attempts to forge an end to the Ukraine war, his meeting with Rocket Man, and his brokering of other conflicts are all laudable goals.
“America First” as Trump defines it is isolationism. A NATO policy that ignores American interests is isolationism. A trade policy based on tariffs and trade wars is protectionism.
Trump appears to be working more with the Saudis on keeping the peace plan together than with Netanyahu”
Zzzzz…
Netanyahu is a known quantity. He will only honor the deal if Hamas cooperates. There is not much Trump can do about that. In fact, he probably told Trump it was up to Trump to secure the support of the Arab world.
The Saudis will be instrumental in exerting pressure on Hamas and also in presenting a unified (minus Iran) front supporting the deal. It seems Trump has already secured the support other important player, which is Egypt. If he gets the Saudis aboard, Iran will be completely isolated and Hamas also.
The interesting aspect of today’s peace summit was how many world leaders came together in an impromptu manner, calling Trump if they could attend this function, because they wanted to be a part of it. Iraq and Turkey had one stipulation, that they would not be there if Netanyahu was present. When Trump was in Israel it was also a significant gesture that Trump did not shake Netanyahu’s hand following the signing of some documents. However, in Egypt Trump was effusive about his relationship with Al Sisi. I really think Trump doesn’t feel Netanyahu is trustworthy any more, and hence their relationship has become frosty and distant.
Contrary to janzam’s fake news from anti-semitic Jew/Israel hating scumbags, Trump called Netanyahu “one of the great wartime Presidents (sic)” and even in his speech told the actual President of Israel Herzog “to pardon Netanyahu, who cares about cigars and gifts”.
US President Donald Trump praises Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “great courage and patriotism” in his address to the Knesset, saying “his partnership did so much to make this day possible.”
He asks Netanyahu to stand up as the plenum applauds.
“And he’s not easy, I wanna tell you,” says Trump. “He’s not the easiest guy to deal with. But that’s what makes him great.” “Thank you very much, Bibi. Great job,” he says.
I know that there is not much difference between a Seattle socialist and a Canadian socialist, but if one of them has to win the American League championship, it damn better well be the American variety. And Seattle looks like it’s about to take the first two games right out from under Toronto’s nose at their own park.
strangest double play I have ever seen. Dodgers had the bases loaded and 1 out, hit one off the wall and the Brewers got the force out at home and third
Meanwhile, LA is still on their starting pitcher at the end of six innings, has struck out plenty of batters, and the Brewers have gained a single hit in the game; that guy promptly got thrown out trying to steal second.
All that said, it’s still just 1-0, and I never doubt the ability of the weak Dodgers relief pitching staff to blow that down the home stretch.
i don’t get why the runner on third didn’t have his foot on the bag and as soon as the Brewers outfielder made contact with the ball, sprint home either as a sac fly run, or as a run scored off a base hit off the wall. Wherever he was, he was in the wrong place
perhaps it will matter in the end, DW, but the Dodgers starting pincher has finished eight innings, and given up only one hit, shutting out the Brewers so far. He’s now at 102 pitches, so I imagine they will pull him, but Milwaukee has burned through four pitchers so far. They’re a good club, but it’s not like they are invincible.
Saying that Israeli hostages were treated “better than the average Gaza” was too much even for CNN, who made Christiana Annanpour eat crow on air.
“Earlier live on air, I spoke about what a day of real joy this is, for Israeli families whose loved ones are finally being returned from two years of horrific Hamas captivity, and for civilians in Gaza, who have finally had a reprieve from two years of brutal, deadly war. I noted that for the hostages who are finally home, it will take a long time for them to recover mentally and physically. But I regret also saying that they may have been treated better than many Gazans because Hamas used these hostages as pawns and bargaining chips. It was insensitive and wrong. From speaking to many former hostages and their families, like everyone I’ve been horrified at what Hamas has subjected them to over two long years. They’ve told me their stories of barely being able to breathe in the tunnels, not being allowed to cry, being starved and made to dig their own graves – and of course today, some of the hostages are coming back in body bags.”
Contrary to janzam’s lies yesterday, Trump DID invite Netanhayu to go to Egypt with him.
“Trump tried to continue the diplomatic celebrations by tempting Netanyahu to accompany him to his glitzy summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, to discuss Gaza’s future with a gathering of world figures, including the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas.
The Israeli leader initially accepted the invite, only to backtrack two hours later. The official reason given was the proximity to a Jewish holiday. But behind closed doors, officials said Netanyahu didn’t want to risk being photographed with Abbas, whom he has attacked and tried to weaken for years.”
