Sorry, but that checked swing was BS. Almost as much as that bunt the other night.

The Phillies had a better game against a better pitcher last night.

True, but even the good pitchers have off days. You just hope to avoid them in a short series like this

If we do end up losing it all, I won’t curse the Philly team, just Kepler and Turner for their fielding.

And Brandon Marsh goes back to his batting approach that sent him to the minor league earlier this season.

The cards I got in the three rounds before lunch were delicious and outstanding. I pretty much bid and played flawlessly (before lunch).
After lunch my cards, bidding and play sucked, but I built a big cushion in the morning.

That was low and outside, must have been a heck of a slider for Turner to take a swing at it.
Sheehan owns the 1-0 lead doubly; for the pitch itself, and the fielding error at 1st.

Ok, Kike does it again! Sanchez pitched a hell of a game, but it’s time for him to go, good call on their part.

I wonder who is more useless – the pitching coach or the hitting coach.

Well…THAT was interesting.
I’d have taken the risk of pitching to Ohtani.

And Duran is good, no disrespect to him

Right decision to walk Ohtani but Duran just had to challenge the batter with 102 mph and not try to get him to chase.

That was close! Teoscar shouldn’t have swung at that, but I guess he had no choice given the count:

I guess, but Ohtani is struggling at the plate, even if he is “overdue.”

Ohtani was due to hit sometime. No way to know if he would have hit a homerun or struck out.

Should have not bunted in game 2. Should have pitched to Ohtani in the 7th. 2 decisions may have ended this series.

So, for tonight, Sheehan’s error unnecessarily extended the game into extra innings. Kerkering’s final throw to home balances out that error. It’s a high pressure situation, I can’t beat up on him too much. But at really that bunt, and it feel right to hit the managers and coaches more than the player.

Big changes possible for Phillies. Manager might be fired. Schwarber, Realmuto, and Suarez might not be resigned. Castellanos might be traded.

Manager I can see; those players all gave stellar performances. Is it s $ issue, or are they free agents?

Schwarber, Suarez, and Realmuto are free agents.
Turner, Schwarber, and Harper only brought their bats in game 3. Not the manager’s fault.

Thanks! I try to be fair, and I know that LA got a pass at least twice in this series.
To be fair, my “loyalty” to this team goes back though my dad to the 1930s when the team closest to him was St. Louis (he grew up in Portlad, OR). My uber Catholic mom still likes the “Angels” (going back to 2002 when she opposed anything my father did). Whatever happens, I am happy for the NL to beat those northern freeloaders.

I was at a sports bar for a party and was pretty muh forced to watch the baseball game and most of the football game. I have to admit the baseball game was more interesting than I expected, sue me.
If the Phillies pitcher had not overthrown the ball to home plate that would have ended the inning, right? I don’t know much about baseball, but I think I could have made that throw.
The Eagles sucked, the defense is horrendous, not sure how they are 4-2 and the Giants are 2-4. I am sure someone who watched their previous games could explain it, maybe the Eagles just had a bad night and the Giants a good one.

Runner was going to be safe at home even if catcher caught it because he would have touched home plate before the catch. Only correct play was to first for the third out.

The throw to first had to be a good one, and a strong one, but it’s a play they make all the time, and the runner at first would have been out by a step. I appreciate how the Phillies players and manager rallied around him after the error. Some things are more important than not extending the game to the 12th inning. I pray that they don’t turn the guy into Bill Buckner 2.0.
The biggest reason the Phillies did not advance was the cold bats, and the horrible bunt call in game 2.
LikeLiked by 1 person
DW – You are correct that it was the cold bats that cost the series. However, that pitcher is terrible with inherited runners. Should have kept in Luzardo or brought in any other reliever. I think the pitcher needs to be traded for both the good of the Phillies and himself.
