All jokes aside, too many, even amongst the sports broadcasters, assumed that this was the same LA team as last year (same for the Brewers). Perhaps most of the players were the same, but between injuries and experience, it was two different crews overall from 2025.

That said, I’m still pulling for Cleveland; they’ve waited a LOT longer than Milwaukee, both leagues are using the DH now, so there isn’t much to differentiate them anymore.

“The key to this election has always been which way the non-major-party voters break because they have become the plurality in the state,” Ralston wrote, as highlighted by Mediaite. “They are going to make up 30 percent or so of the electorate, and if they swing enough towards Harris, she will win Nevada.”

Ralston said that those voters are going to choose Harris, adding that he will “tell you why: Many people assume that with the GOP catching up to the Democrats in voter registration that the automatic voter registration plan pushed by Democrats that auto-registers people as nonpartisans (unless they choose a party) at the DMV had been a failure for the party.”

“But I don’t think so. There are a lot of nonpartisans who are closet Democrats who were purposely registered by Democrat-aligned groups as nonpartisans. The machine knows who they are and will get them to vote,” he continued.

Zzzzz…. so what? From all accounts, they had a long term love relationship. Hemings could have remained “free” in France had she wanted, but she chose to return with Jefferson to the US.

Does that in any way diminish his legacy? Not in my view, sorry revisionists.

Plus, I doubt “saint” would describe any of the founding fathers or any politician ever since.

The attempt to export modern social mores to condemn historical figures is rampant in revisionist circles, yet is Bill Clinton getting bjs from an intern in the Oval Office “better” than Jeffersons 40 years relationship with a slave?

  28. Zzzzz……

(she was 14 when their “loving” relationship started. It’s called grooming now.).

In the 1700’s the legal age of consent was 12 for women and 14 for men.

    Key Details of 18th-Century Law

    • The Age of 10 vs. 12: Under a 1576 English statute, sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 10 was classified as a felony, while sexual offenses against girls aged 10 to 12 were treated as a misdemeanour. Meanwhile, general common law traditions often treated 12 as the age of discretion or marriageable age.
    • Rape and Force: In the 1700s, common law defined rape as carnal knowledge of a woman against her will (requiring proof of both force and lack of consent), except in cases involving girls under the age of consent, where the law deemed the child legally incapable of consenting.
    • Marriage Age vs. Consent: The minimum legal age for marriage was 12 for females and 14 for males, though actual average marriage ages for the general populace were typically much higher (around the mid-20s).
    • Colonial Adoption: The American colonies inherited these English common law frameworks, and early U.S. states maintained ages of consent at 10 or 12 well into the 19th century before reform movements raised them.

So the “child rapist” BS is an another revisionist attempt to export modern laws to besmirch the character of historical figures.

“Thomas Jefferson’s key accomplishments include authoring the Declaration of Independence, serving as the third President of the United States (1801–1809), and founding the University of Virginia.

    Major Writings and Laws

    • Declaration of Independence: Served as the principal author of the 1776 document declaring America’s separation from Great Britain.
    • Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom: Authored the 1786 law establishing freedom of conscience and separating church and state in Virginia.

    Presidency (1801–1809)

    • Louisiana Purchase (1803): Acquired 828,000 square miles of western territory from France for $15 million, doubling the size of the United States.
    • Lewis and Clark Expedition (1804–1806): Commissioned Meriwether Lewis and William Clark to explore and map the newly acquired western lands.
    • Barbary War (1801–1805): Sent U.S. naval ships to combat Barbary pirates and protect American shipping in the Mediterranean.
    • Abolition of Slave Importation (1808): Signed the act prohibiting the importation of new enslaved persons into the United States as soon as it was constitutionally permitted.

    Other Contributions

Inventions & Architecture: Designed his historic estate, Monticello, and created or improved practical devices like the swivel chair, polygraph copy machine, and iron moldboard plow

First Secretary of State: Served under President George Washington from 1789 to 1793.

University of Virginia: Designed the campus architecture, curated the library, and founded the institution in Charlottesville, Virginia.”

George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were great men. In my view their legacy is completely untarnished by the fact they, like many landowners of the time, owned slaves, as well as 12 of the first 18 Presidents of the United States.
