Home from reunion
We u load and put things away a d I make a pot of coffee a d go put on deck to relax with. Y laptop.
Son comes home. He hops on the mower to mow…I go down to open gates and brief talk to him and the skies open up. I dash back up the stairs and up to the deck to get my waterlogged laptop.
Found my wife had already run out from the kitchen onto the deck to get the rugs that were out there.
She cares more for her rugs than laptop…?

jason, my home is not valued at $1 million.
we bought it 7 years ago for $300,000.
Sincw we have been here. We have put a new @ $16,000 architectural shingle roof on (was just regular shingles), put in a $10,000 patio under the deck and another 10 X 8 ft matching patio section and a raised fire pit where the concrete hot tub was (and a 6 X 6 foot $500 paver section for the riding lawn mower and garbage cans) put in a pond and landscaped that ($2,000), converted the wood burning fireplace to a gas fireplace and but enclosure for big gas tank ($5,500), added a decorative front rail for front porch and steps ($2 500), expanded existing flower beds cisiderably and added more flower beds and other trees, bushes, plants and installed large pavers edging ($5,000), new garden walkway ($1,000) addded curtains rods and window treatment ($6,000), built a 16 X 3 X 18″ tall composting area ($500), and $4,000 to level sidewalk and o e big driveway section.
We also painted/stained both the big deck and the 450 feet of fence.
For insurance replacement purposes, it is @ $700,000.
Zillow and others like realty things say about $660,000.
if I live here long enough, I am ck fide t it will go over $1million… if real estate prices/values here keep going the way they have been going in the last 7 years, maybe another 4 years.

…And added about $2,000 of other improvements with shades on the deck and on patio beneath, mote outdoor lighting, exterior electrical additions, sliding screen for patio doors leading from kitchen to deck, etc.

The LITTLE houses that are maybe 2000 to 2500 sq feet [ours is over 4000 sqft] they built in the last couple years in the development just across the road are on much smaller pieces of land [ours 4/10 of an acre] and they are all going for over $300,000 today.
