Not really.
Since Lee opposed slavery in principle and thought the Union should endure, we don’t know what his position would have been had the South won.
Also has the South won, the idea that slavery would have gone on forever is wrong too. It might have lasted another decade or two but the cat was out of the bag so to speak, blacks were not going to go back to peacefully work the plantations again, and the South’s economy was destroyed even if they won secession.
There would have probably been a lot of pressure to reconstitute the Union, even if under more favorable conditions to the Southern states, just for economic reasons.
In my view, even had the South “won”, the United States would look a lot like it does now at this point.

Didn’t the judge also say that Casey expected to win, so he didn’t spend all the resources he could have spent had he known he was going to lose? Therefore it is not fair for him to be denied the seat, considering he could have won.

BTW, there are an abundance of Robert Lee quotes saved for their wisdom and the judicious way he interacted with events during his time here. He was more anti slavery than Lincoln, only fighting for the confederacy because he could not ”raise his sword against his beloved Virginia.” His military leadership was one which gleaned respect from both the southern and northern armies. There have been few leaders like Lee who sustained his integrity, loyalty to his men, and personal decency throughout the war. Bitters comments were totally off base.

I have mixed feeling about this.
On one hand, it is good Chinese students get to live in a capitalist society, maybe it will change the ideology of some of them. But experience shows they don’t assimilate easily, hang out among themselves, and go back to China the same way they came.

Today Trump held the 7th public cabinet meeting since he took office. It was informative, congenial and showed how well this administration works together to amend, reform, and implement policies being prioritized by Trump. Two hours long, and very enjoyable to hear some positivity going on in government.
