  1. His role in the Civil War was military to secure victory for secession and slavery.

    Fixed it.”

    Not really.

Since Lee opposed slavery in principle and thought the Union should endure, we don’t know what his position would have been had the South won.

Also has the South won, the idea that slavery would have gone on forever is wrong too. It might have lasted another decade or two but the cat was out of the bag so to speak, blacks were not going to go back to peacefully work the plantations again, and the South’s economy was destroyed even if they won secession.

There would have probably been a lot of pressure to reconstitute the Union, even if under more favorable conditions to the Southern states, just for economic reasons.

In my view, even had the South “won”, the United States would look a lot like it does now at this point.

A US District judge has ruled that the 15,115 vote lead held by Dave McCormick over incumbent Bob Casey is not enough. “It is difficult to accurately assess voter intent with such a narrow margin, against the large number of votes cast,” said Judge Ben Ohverueld. The judge further ordered the vacating of the Pennsylvania US Senate seat pending a new election. “Voters might well have identified with Senator Casey’s policies, but unknowingly voted for McCormick. Or perhaps voters were deceived by dishonest campaign ads released by the McCormick campaign,” said Judge Ohverueld.

He was more anti slavery than Lincoln, only fighting for the confederacy because he could not ”raise his sword against his beloved Virginia.” His military leadership was one which gleaned respect from both the southern and northern armies. There have been few leaders like Lee who sustained his integrity, loyalty to his men, and personal decency throughout the war. Bitters comments were totally off base.

The vegetables were steamed, the jello was shaking, and the milk soured. When the margarine showed up, they all said they could not believe it was not butter. The olives were in a pickle (jar) and the jelly was in a jam. The mayonnaise joked to the red bottle of condiment that he had to ketchup. The leftovers said, ”what the Hellman?” The mustard saw a wrapped up package beside him that he thought was a bomb. But others told him that it was a bunch of bologna. BALTIMORE (AP) — A federal judge on Tuesday threw out the Trump administration’s lawsuit against Maryland’s entire federal bench over an order by the chief judge that stopped the immediate deportation of migrants challenging their removals.

U.S. District Judge Thomas Cullen granted a request by the judges to toss the case, saying to do otherwise “would run counter to overwhelming precedent, depart from longstanding constitutional tradition, and offend the rule of law.”

“In their wisdom, the Constitution’s framers joined three coordinate branches to establish a single sovereign,” Cullen wrote. “That structure may occasionally engender clashes between two branches and encroachment by one branch on another’s authority. But mediating those disputes must occur in a manner that respects the Judiciary’s constitutional role.”

    Colorado is correct.”

    AI disagrees:

“No, there isn’t a US state where all its rivers originate within its own borders, as all states are bordered by rivers and other states, meaning some rivers must flow in from or out to other states. For example, many rivers flow into or out of large states like Alaska or Mississippi, and even smaller states have rivers that originate in a neighboring state or flow into another one.

Here’s why it’s not possible for a state to have all rivers originate within its borders:

    • Natural Geography: Rivers form in higher elevations and flow downhill, eventually emptying into larger bodies of water. It’s common for these rivers to cross state lines before reaching their ultimate destination.

State Borders: State borders are often defined by rivers or other natural features, but this also means rivers cross these borders. Water Drainage Systems: The drainage systems for large areas, like the Mississippi River’s, are vast and encompass multiple states. A single state’s rivers are part of these larger systems and are unlikely to be entirely self-contained.

While some states have rivers that flow almost entirely within their boundaries, such as Minnesota and Wisconsin, no state has a system where all rivers originate internally”
