So my local newspaper went from printing editions 7 days a week, to then 6 days a week.
Now, they have gone from printing 5 days a week to printingonly ONE newspaper a week (Wednesday), and you can access the news on other days IF you have the AP on your phone.
In late Nov. 2024 I paid $208 for a full year’s subscription for delivery of a newspaper 6 days a week.
Went in to the newspaper office today to:
1) inquire as to why my wife, who was accessing the newspaper on line, in now NOT able to access.
2) ask them to put the AP on my phone so I could access the newspaper on days other than Wednesday
3) ask about the difference in price I paid in Nov. 2024 vs. lower price now for only getting ONE newspaper delivered each week.
**************
Their response to 1) was to say they are experiencing a big glitch in their computer system and people who were getting access through the AP are now not able to do that. Took down my wife (and my) phone numbers. Said someone will call you and give you a new password.
Response the 2) (from the 80 year old woman who finally came to wait on me) was “I do not know how to download the AP, you will have to rind someone under 35 years old to do that.” She called another woman employee over (60-ish) to help me and she volunteered she does not have the AP on her phone. A 20-something guy appeared and they got him involved and he set the AP up on my phone.
******************************
7 hours later, we have gotten no phone calls, texts, or emails to give us new passwords.
For problems 3) the 80-something year old woman said she is not sure how they handle the difference in cost between my paying for a full year of 6 days a week newspaper and now only getting one newspaper a week delivered. “But”, she said. “That paper you get on Wednesday will have all the news for the whole week, all the obituaries, etc.” Then she handed me a multiple page, stapled together handout and said, “If you read this, it probably tells you what to do concerning the difference between what you paid for and the cheaper system we now have that costs you less money. I think they are going to make the adjustment in cost and give you more months of subscription.”

“Billionaire Home Depot co-founder Ken Langone has done a 180 after blasting Trump’s sweeping tariffs, explaining, “When you made a mistake, admit it.”
During Langone’s appearance on Tuesday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” the co-founder of the home improvement store and top GOP donor said that he was wrong when he called out the president in April suggesting he was getting bad advice from advisors for the “46% tariff on Vietnam” and said the 34 percent rate on China was “too aggressive, too soon.”
“I am sold on Trump,” Langone told the hosts. “In fact, I will say this. I think he’s got a good shot at going down in history as one of our best presidents ever
A host on the panel pointed out the “real turnaround” from Langone, adding, “Because you didn’t want to vote for him!”
“I told you the reason,” the Billionaire donor responded. “I tell ya, I’m a believer. What I’m seeing happening is absolutely nothing short of a great thing. There’s a beat. People are walking with more bounce in their step. It’s all around.”
“Knowledge implies one thing, when you made a mistake, admit it,” Langone continued after the host pointed out how much the GOP donor bemoaned his binary choice of either Trump or former Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.”

Tina, that was an excellent print – better than yesterday’s CPI. This is fake news and wishful thinking at best. According to the June 30 2025 Fed semiannual monetary policy report(released two weeks ago), all but 4 of the voting Fed governors believe that Fed funds rates should be lowered, with a majority favoring a Fed funds rate of between 3.5% and 4%. Keep in mind that this was before the release of yesterday’s CPI and today’s stellar PPi print. The majority would gladly follow a new Fed chairman reducing Fed funds rates to the aforementioned levels. Pull the report and check out the Fed governor dot plot for yourself.

I’m actually not even convinced that rate cuts are stimulatory unless it’s paired with new QE. It’s stimulative to the private markets, which are playing a smaller and smaller role.
The problem is that high rates create more debt, and therefor more debt monetization, which is very stimulative to “GDP growth.” Most of our economy is government spending now days anyways.
This is actually a theory by….Stephanie Kelton (which would become increasingly true as debt to GDP ratios become higher and higher and less true at low debt levels)

Please consider further that the current DOJ, led by Pam Bondi, has done so while causing the Democrats and rogue judges to wholly discredit themselves via sheer narcissistic stupidity. Please consider further that this is all a transformational approach that has completely changed the trajectory of the America justice system and has allowed the enactment of the most significant aspects of the MAGA agenda. Finally, please consider further that the REAL conspiracy is to destroy such success by making MAGAs rabid over Epstein evidence that may or may not exist, thereby wrecking DOJ leadership in the same manner as when Jeff Sessions was sabotaged.
