  9. However, the only tell tale is the “ND BREWING.” Well, it ain’t North Dakota, so it’s obviously cutoff (perhaps deliberately!). The storefront sign a few doors down is sadly illegible (at least to me), so you will all have to focus on the “ND BREWING” company and do your research based on that one clue like I did (it will not be easy and you will have to enter various vowels and work your way backwards from there). Hint; it’s very close to a major Naval base, so that will limit your options. Took me almost an hour.

But…never taunt a sailor with beer! Most of us have been to every watering hole within ten miles of a coastline, and will sniff out the ones we managed to miss.😁

  23. Cole enough to an hour, because even getting the right vowel wasn’t enough at first, had to start adding consonants backwards. Maybe 45 minutes more accurately. When you mentioned strategy, I wondered after a while if you had just snapped the photo yourself, and based my limiting criteria on that assumption. Turned out to be a correct guess on the state even if it wasn’t actually your own photo. Narrowed very quickly after that.

  28. The picture is of the property owned by Dollar Tree, as it is their headquarters in Chesapeake, VA. Several years back, I guess they decided to diversify, so they used their property which included some empty lots and several acres of woods to build what is essentially the “downtown” district of Chesapeake. They get to rent out all these multi-use buildings, mixed commerce and residential, and thereby enabling them to maintain good cash flow so they are not entirely dependent on $1 trinkets (or whatever the new price is after Biden).

I presumed I could stump GF because I knew he had never seen any of these buildings before.

  61. Bitter and Jason need to keep up. As has been pointed out here several times, today’s birthright citizenship case was never going to be about the merits.

The question presented was whether the district courts exceeded their authority by issuing a universal injuction. The Court ruled they did. The oral arguments barely discussed birthright citizenship. This case should be referred to as the universal injunction case rather than the birthright citizenship case.

The merits may, or may not, make it to the Court in the future.

It certainly will unless Trump gives up on his idiotic interpretation of the Constitution.

I am betting that will not happen.

And btw, I never thought this should be resolved by an injunction from a district judge.

While I agree with the ruling that banning birthright citizenship is uncontitutional on its merits, just like I agreed with the TRO mandating the contractors for work contracted and completed needed to be paid, I have opposed these national injunctions from the start, and hoped that SCOTUS would at least limit them to the parties involved and even then ONLY in their jurisdiction (district).

Let’s take the most extreme case, a small minority of birthright cases.

A woman climbs over the fence and 5 minutes later has a baby in the US.

What exactly is the argument against wanting this baby, born in America, NOT to grow up a US citizen according to our laws and our culture. Why wouldn’t we want this baby, born in America, from being a productive citizen, a taxpayer, maybe a veteran.

Why should it matter how and why the mother had her baby on this side of the fence? Why should the baby be penalized for the actions of the mother?

Now there IS one argument that can be made that I am sympathetic to. That by allowing children of illegals to be citizens we are ENCOURAGING illegal immigration.

But that is a border control issue. Right now, the border is effectively closed. THAT is the answer to illegal immigration. Denying birthright citizenship is not the answer.

    Sorry racist xenophobes.
