Trump always watches Fox morning news, and that made him start claiming that he was responsible for it (contradicting little Marco) because if it’s a brilliant attack then it should be Trump charge of it. Bitter, I always look at going to war with an “abundance of caution,” as it’s easier to get into war than it is to get out of it. As more info is availing itself about Fordow, it is being said it was built with the idea of bracing for bunker busting bombing. Consequently, it’s unknown how effective these giant bombs will be. Those who know about this site’s construction say it could take 10 flights of precise bombing to get down to the 300 foot level. And, even then how does anyone know whether or not if materials haven’t been moved. This is not a video game, but real life with real people’s lives on the line. So, having a little reluctance to engage is a good mindset to have.

My position on Iran…..
These fargin’ iceholes (Johnny Dangerously reference) took Americans hostage for 400+ days. These same bastages killed hundreds of US troops in the Beirut Marine Barracks bombing. The cork suckers killed and maimed hundreds of US troops in the Iraq War.
They also are developing nuclear weapons (despite current disagreement on the timing. They already have missiles that can reach Israel and much of Europe, yet they continue to develop missiles that can carry nukes to America.
No need to reach the question, imo, on whether defending Israel is in American interests (it certainly is, in my book). There is a direct threat to America, so I would remove the ability to make a nuke.

The bunker busting bombs don’t have to actually reach the enrichment site. Shock waves from the blasts would damage the delicate centrifuges. Power and other utilities could be cut, further damaging the equipment. Access tunnels could be caved in, effectively entombing the site. Personnel will have to be evacuated or die. If you destroy the entire infrastructure, it will be easy to monitor the recovery efforts later, and bomb those engaged in it with conventional bombs/missiles.

Having said that, I want you to know that I am others are praying for you and sharing your fear of this situation with you.
I am a type 2 diabetic. Unlike you, my condition developed through my own fault, eating too many doughnuts and not moving enough. You were born with your diabetes and it has been a cross for you all your days.
After having 2 toes amputated over the last 2 decades, 3 years ago, my ankle had disintegrated so much that there was very little bone left. I had to have a rod surgically inserted from my foot, through my ankle, up into my shin bone. They told me that it was 50% that I would have to have it amputated within the first year.
Fortunately, the bone treatment plan they put me on helped me grow new bone and as long as i am able to keep the bones from getting infected, I shouldnt have to have something else cut off. Today, I walk better than I am have in years and waddle around like a pro without crutches, walkers, etc. I have been so blessed.
I attribute my healing to God, Dr. Powers and my fear. I so hope that something gives you comfort and consolation during your fears and treatments. While I disagree 50% of the time with your politics and your comments in general, I hope that you receive healing, peace and full-health….from wherever you can receive it.

My relationship with God is very simple. I don’t pray and I just hope he forgets about me. People who pray believe they deserve God’s mercy. I don’t. It works for us.

OA, glad you have found an effective treatment. New stuff seems to be coming out all the the time for diabetes, hope you can find something to improve even further.
I have had pre-diabetes for 20+ years. The other day I kidded around with the doctor and said look, if I didn’t get it by now, it isn’t happening, right. He said actually, the older you get with pre-diabetes the greater the chances you will develop it.
So while I never was much for the donuts, I consume a lot of alcohol and exercise is not my thing either. I do hike the PA woods for about 4 months out of the year, when it is not too hot or too cold, but nothing sustained.
Bitter forgets that God’s ways are not our ways. He is also wrong to believe praying implies you think you deserve something. It is easy to thank God or criticize God depending on your personal circumstances. But God is not about you or your relatives or your country or whatever is important to you. I do pray for good health and for my family and for our troops, never for success or anything material, but my view is that God has a master design and that our personal trials and tribulations might not be a part of it.

I listened to an interview with a retired special ops guy. He had been on some 16 deployments to the ME. When asked whether or not we should bomb the Fordow installation he decisively said “No,” and that 90% of those he knew in the military felt the same way. His reasons were much like mine, in that the heavy fortification of Fordow, built to withstand bunker busting bombs, with a striated structure made of hardened granite makes it impossible to determine how successful these bombs would be, or how many flights it would take to deliver bombs in a pinpointed fashion. Then there is what to do or what to expect in the aftermath of such a strike. It’s basically not a simple decision to make with lots of variables to consider. I’m glad we have a leader who is taking all aspects of such a mission into consideration, by taking the time to let some unknowns become more reasonably known. This is hardly a stance being complacent about Iran obtaining nukes. Rather it’s one that rejects knee- jerk actions, and supports the best less evasive actions and options available.

I listen to well informed people who have experience in military matters, rather than ones like you who have nothing to give but their “opinion.” At this stage opinion is worthless. Knowing the capability of your enemy, knowing the difficulties of a target, contemplating the aftermath of a failed or successful mission, as well as an exit plan, are the variables to have answers to before you go ahead with a very risky venture. Israel looks out for its own interests, as it should. We, in turn, need to view outcomes in our own best interests as well.

What the guy interviewed brought up was how even when we are successful in taking someone out, or demolishing an adversary’s asset, NGOs come in and profiteering off of war becomes “policy” that then extends the war where we never seem to win and able to get out as a winner. This was the case in Viet Nam and onward in Afghanistan. Look at Ukraine where Zelenskyy now wants $40 billion a year to keep his regime intact.

First aerial pics show Fordo as a crater. Trump has called this site “done.” I’m relieved no pilots/planes were lost. Supposedly the Iranian military is in chaos as there are no military leaders left to basically call the shots. Trump to address the nation at 10 tonight, eastern time. It still remains to be seen what Iranian assets are left in which to retaliate.

I agree that Trump should be impeached for violating war clause, but I also think he should be impeached for killing Soleimani after an investigation of it. It’s doubtful that Soleimani was doing anything to represent a threat. He was actually murdered on his way to a peace conference.
But I hope Rand Paul and Massie and others quit working w this president at this point because he’s clearly gone rogue. The problem is we tend to lack good reps. Most of them are bought and paid for.
