Stopped for lunch and shopping at Avenmore, Scotland. VERY nice little town.
At the Battle of Culloden the ragtag Scots numbered about 5,000 and well disciplined British had about 8,000. On their March north about 1/2 of the English pro Charles forces peeled off to go home and not continue north to Scootland. Despite the pleas from the Few French officers fighting along the Scots the decision was made to stand and fight the British. The tired, outmanned, outgunned 5,000 Scots decided to charge the British. They lost about 700 dead in the one hour battle. Scots suffered 1,500 dead and wounded. The British had about 50 dead and 260 wounded. McPicketts charge failed. The British had used new strategies involving their bayonets that helped decimate the Jacobean Scots.
Sadly, the Jacobeans were supposed to be supported by the Limabeans whe got lost and never joined the battle.
The gubment pays the farmer for not planting his fields all the way to the edge of his property line, so if he leaves some wild vegetation on his land next to the highway, the government pays him. Or as they say here, “the government pees heem.’
BELIEVE IT ON NOT, it has not rained on us at all on this trip. It did rain some last night while we slept at the hotel.
they did wash the bus when we stopped to eat lunch and shop, so naturally it has rained a little bit on us as we drive the last hour to our next hotel.
Jake Tapper says the purpose of his book is to make sure there’s “transparency” with political leaders — then makes it all about Trump and “questions about his health.” That’s where this is going — media is going to use this book as cover to do to Trump what they would never do with Biden — aggressively question his health. The Mediaite guy then claims that legacy media reporting doesn’t have a political agenda, and is about exposing the truth. Funny. What they are making incredibly transparent here is this: 1) This book is intended to absolve the media from its role in the coverup, and that’s why Tapper is getting wall-to-wall coverage in legacy media. 2) They are going to go after Trump’s “health questions” because we “learned our lessons.” What an absolute farce.
Only 6 homes, out of the 2000 destroyed in the Maui Fire of 2023, have been rebuilt. Like what is going on here in S CA big government bureaucracy always slows progress.
”Builders on Maui face a vast web of zoning restrictions, water-use regulations, and historical- and environmental-preservation requirements, and separate applications and schedules for electrical, plumbing, grading, and driveway work. The local permitting office is also poorly staffed, which makes processing take a ridiculous amount of time. Figures from September 2024 showed that the county took 206 days on average to issue a single building permit. Ordinarily, you need several to build a house from scratch.”
You gotta love the NYT. They published another hit piece on Fetterman, this time because he allegedly misses too many votes.
But they are also forced to admit there are 2 other Dems that miss more votes.
This year, the analysis found, Mr. Fetterman also has missed more votes than all but two of his colleagues: Senators Patty Murray, Democrat of Washington, and Bernie Sanders, independent of Vermont. Ms. Murray has been absent to care for her ailing husband, while Mr. Sanders has been on his “Fighting Oligarchy Tour,” speaking out against President Trump and drawing a total of 265,000 people to events across 12 states so far, according to a spokeswoman.
So the problem is not that he misses votes. It is because the NYT doesn’t like his reason to do so (Fetterman says he misses inconsequential procedural votes to be home with his kids).
If you are out bashing Trump, it is ok to miss votes.
Many Democrats now theorize that Jake Tapper is acting as an “undercover MAGA agent” because of his new book exposing Biden’s health scandal – USA Today”
Hilarious.
Of course, there are people at HHR who believe in secret cabals they call the Deep State, so there is that…
No. Just the e-mails and phone calls I sent and received, expert reports I reviewed, Petitions I filed, and the settlement I negotiated. I never put the out of office message on my e-mail or phone because I answer everything on vacation.
No, both are run by hard core Marxist propagandists.
EVERY headline on CNN, MSNBC, and Drudge, are negative on Trump and the administration. 100%.
The whole Sunday line up on the networks and CNN and MSNBC is 100% bashing Trump.
Politico is worried about a “right wing Deep State” within the State Dept.
Conservative media likes to point out that the MSM and legacy media are losing influence, and that may well be true. But if you add up where people get their news from, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, CNN, PBS, NPR, Drudge, etc. plus left wing news agencies like AP and Reuters and then 90% of the print media NYT, USA Today, LA times, Chicago Trib, WaPo, etc. it adds up to a lot more viewers/readers than conservative media.”
Toured Blair Castle today. Fascinating. Plus visited a whisky distillery and at the end, they give you a significant shot of their high end whisky. AFter the first sip, I had to add a lot of water, which made it go down better. Nice lunch in the town of Pitlochry. This is where we stayed last night and again tonight in the Athole Palace (hotel). Very shmanshy fancy.
I know Athole is very close to A-hole…
Last night as 2:33 the hotel fire alarm went off. It was a little concerning. Everybody (hundreds) had to evacuate via stairs. I took time to dress, grab coat, backpack. Others were out there in their night clothes. Turns out no fire. The water from the rain somehow apparently tripped some fire alarm somewhere. No actual fire.
I am watching episodes of Downton Abby now before we go to supper.
It rained on us today. Everyone got wet. then it cleared up. Then it rained on everyone again. etc., etc.
Did you all know that Robert the Bruce rode a big red hairy cow into battle at least once? Google it.
Oh, and we also we t thru the museum at the bottom level of the hotel. This hotel was originally a sanitorium/health spa, and at one time a school for girls (during wwI) and at a other time a scholarship for boys.
Our Scottish tour guide has very little good to say about the government here in Scotland/Great Britain. Bitched a lot about high taxes on everything, poor government health care, public school system that had deteriorated greatly since he was a student at a time when teachers and parents could spank or slap the misbehaving kids–and did. Now, not only teachers cannot touch the kids, but parents cannot touch their own kids to discipline them. Court system is terrible, anything the government touches and runs turns to crap. Failure of government to control big spike in prices of things, government run transportation system (busses, ferrys, trains, etc. ) are all over budget, poorly operated, no oversight on holding down costs and don’t care about that, because they can just raise taxes to cover budget overruns, etc.
The sheepherder who did the sheep dog demonstration voluntarily echoed many of those sentiments expressed by our tour guide. The sheepherder said he can only sell his wool to the British Wool Exchange (controlled by the government) and he has to accept whatever price the GWE says they will pay. He went on to say that “Anything that has the name ‘British’ inits name [whatever industry, business or organization] is corrupt.”
I think they were all involved in either doing something pretty bad, or else were planning to do something bad. You and I were not here to watch them and keep them straight…
I could give them all the benefit of the doubt and say they were all probably reading through the thousands of pages of the “one big beautiful bill” …
But I KNOW they are ALL a bunch of rascals…plus, some, like Scooter, have been too quiet for way too long…
For all you and I know, they were plotting a coup to install SSQ as the head of HHR, sell off the HHR assets (plus HHR book, play, and movie rights) and escape to somewhere in South America and start new lives.
Glad you are back to crack the whip and get things straightened out, Bitter.

VDH is wrong to support Trump’s stupid tariffs and trade wars.
But his take down of Jake Tapper is epic.
“Joe Biden has got cancer. He’s written off. He’s in decline. The family is disgraced. It’s easy now to write about that.”
“It was hard and would’ve required intellectual courage, moral fortitude to say this when he was the most powerful man in the world.”
“And so, Jake Tapper, you failed that test.”
