Bittersville is very diverse. Note a major Hispanic population.

Toured Derry (Londonderry to the Protestants). I was surprised at how deep the anger is. We saw a Protestant area with murals that said they were under siege from the. Catholics. The tour guide said it must be difficult living in an upscale neighborhood able to come and go as they please. I think a beautiful country flooded with beer and whiskey should have worked it out by now.

The bill is headed to the Senate where it will be subject to various revisions, including SALT. Even though we personally benefit from SALT I think it should have been eliminated entirely. Some of the biggest controversial cuts were Medicaid and Snap, which will provide plenty of emotional media fodder to churn up against this bill. What the OMB is saying is how the GDP will be higher than expected because of higher revenue not included in their predictive calculations. This includes revenue from tariffs.

As an Anglophile and being of Irish descent, I am sad that Ireland separated from Great Britain. I know that the Catholics were badly treated for years. But, the Irish people would have been better had they stayed.
Being a smaller nation, it seems that they can take irresponsible positions because they know it won’t have any consequence.

I am also in the strange position of respecting England but also glad the Irish told it to F off. Except for those p*ssies in Northern Ireland. I can’t live another person’s struggle. The English truly treated the Irish with hatred and contempt. During the Famine, 1/3 died and another 1/3 fled. The English did little to help because most Irish were Catholics. That is tough to let go.

When wife and I were in Ireland and Northern Ireland 12 years ago, we were both enlightened during our visit in Londonderry (Derry).
Did a group tour on the wall of the town with a local person who explained the hatred of the Catholics and the Protestants there . Quite moving. We also walked on the Peace bridge and learned about that.
We also, after to tour,. went to eat at a crowded restaurant and there were more diners than seats. we asked a elderly couple if we could share the same table for four, and they readily agreeds. They had not been on our group tour. They told us that they were from England and this is the first time they had ever visited Northern Ireland. They had never gone there before, because of “The Trouble” and were fearful to come to Derry before and still a little apprehensive of being there 12 years ago.
