Unfortunately, Chicon doesn’t really read anything outside his Cultist bubble.
What Vance said:
“US VP Vance says war between India and Pakistan will be ‘none of our business’”
Which is of course stupid isolationism because of course this war would cause major disruptions worldwide and if it went nuclear the consequences would be very far reaching.
So preventing this war is very much “our business”.
I imagine Rubio was the one who put an end to this nonsense.
Weren’t the HHR morons who said Russia is no threat “concerned” about China.
China has now declared it will firmly support Pakistan.
“China’s foreign minister Wang Yi has reportedly told his Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar during a telephonic conversation that Beijing stands by Islamabad in upholding “Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national independence.” Immediately after the conversation, Pakistan’s foreign office released a statement confirming the same.”
Of course, now that China is taking sides in the conflict Vance will probably say it is still “none of our business” and the HHR morons will clap and cheer.
Sounds like even Vance admits it was Rubio that put an end to the isolationist BS.
“Great work from the President’s team, especially Secretary Rubio. And my gratitude to the leaders of India and Pakistan for their hard work and willingness to engage in this ceasefire.”
Trump is an isolationist by conviction. It is something he has defended and been consistent on for decades.
It doesn’t mean he will not take action to defend US interests as President if the need (or opportunity) arises.
I have given him credit for several actions where he DID act in US interests, as for example the war on ISIS, troops in Syria, the killing of the Iranian terrorist general, and especially the Abraham Accords. I supported his initiative with N Korea and his meeting with Rocketman.
And to Chicon’s point that I am more critical of Vance, this is true. I was going to vote for Trump anyway, despite my disagreements with him on Ukraine, NATO and trade, but I almost didn’t support the ticket because I viewed Vance’s positions as unacceptable.
So it is clear I don’t view Trump as being as much of an isolationist as Vance, everything is relative.
“Remember the days after President Joe Biden’s barely coherent debate performance, when Democratic dead-enders insisted that nothing was the matter? That was embarrassing. But apparently it wasn’t so embarrassing that everybody took away the correct lesson, because something similar is now happening between Senator John Fetterman and a coterie of admirers on the right. Conservatives are now doing the exact same thing that the Biden defenders did: denying the obvious unfitness of a politician because he’s politically useful.”
The hypocrisy is astounding. In the first place, even if true and Fetterman was in the same mental decline as Biden (doubtful), Fetterman is one of 100 senators in a legislative capacity. Biden was President, in the most powerful executive capacity in the world.
So the analogy stinks.
And who is the Atlantic calling “Biden defenders”? Are they looking at a mirror?
The trade negotiations in Switzerland with the Chinese seem to have been productive. However, details will matter, and more will come out Monday.
According to Jameson Greer, the trade representative accompanying the Sec of Treasury…….
”This was, as the Secretary pointed out, a very constructive two days. It’s important to understand how quickly we were able to come to an agreement, which reflects that perhaps the differences were not as large as previously thought. That being said, there was a lot of groundwork that went into these two days.
Just to remember why we’re here in the first place: The United States has a massive $1.2 trillion trade deficit. The President declared a national emergency and imposed tariffs. We’re confident that the deal we struck with our Chinese partners will help us to work toward resolving that national emergency.”
Over the past several days, we got:
– A trade deal with the UK
– A ceasefire between India and Pakistan
– Negotiations and now a DEAL with China
– Putin and Zelensky will now meet this week in Turkey on making peace
Trump is also going to the Middle East this week.
Tell me again, Panicans and doubters, you were saying?
*******
“Asking whether trade deficits are good or bad is like asking whether buying stuff with borrowed money is good or bad. The answer is pretty obviously “it depends on whether the purchase was worth it”.
One thing to remember is that not all purchases are for consumption — a lot are actually productive investment. If an American factory buys a Japanese CNC machine tool for $100,000, and the Japanese toolmaker simply stashes the money in U.S. Treasury bonds, that contributes to the U.S. trade deficit. But if the American factory uses that tool to make and sell $500,000 worth of car parts, it has come out ahead — and America has come out ahead too”
In other words if you use imported goods to grow your economy, for example, transporting, marketing, and selling those products, and building locations to sell them and hiring people to sell them trade deficits can be positive, not negative.
Politico is reporting that President Trump is “obsessed” with the 2026 mid-terms. I hope so; as I have said before, I believe it is important for him to keep his approval numbers high to prevent a big Democrat tide that will impede his second-term priorities. “
This very good.
I don’t remember Trump being that engaged in 2028 when Rs lost 40 seats.
I hope he is obsessed enough that he won’t endorse losers and deadenders.
The midterms are very important. Rs need to hold on to the Senate, obviously, so Trump can continue to appoint conservatives to the Federal bench and maybe SCOTUS. But the House is essential too. A Dem House will try to impeach Trump, run endless investigations, and completely block any legislation.
Bitterlaw-get it. Not a Cult member, nor a Republican. But can call ‘balls and strikes’. Give credit is due. I don’t know how last this will last…but this is an extreme very, very good day for Trump and his admistration.

Wonder how that would work.
Air Force One has souped up engines, more powerful than a commercial 747. It has all kinds of extra communication systems and it has defensive and anti-missile capabilities. Is Qatar paying for all that too?
@MarkHalperin that “Biden Inc.,” the family business that generated millions of dollars in revenue to support their lifestyle, has dried up. “The trough is empty, the spigot is turned off,” says Mark. “Biden Inc. needs a source of revenue.” Joe’s earning power is not sufficient, and “Hunter does not have great earning capacity.” Joe and Jill Biden’s appearance on “The View” today comes amid these challenges.”
I think this means I might be able to pick up a couple Hunter Biden paintings at a bargain price.

As a kid I remember trucks delivering food in boxes “USAID a gift from the American People” or something like that.
The problem is that it became a political tool for the Marxists to be used as propaganda, funding NGO’s with a political agenda.
Evidently, of the 5000 projects around the world, they have kept about 1300.
I hope USAID will continue with its original purpose, food, water projects, agricultural projects and medicine.
