  4. So DOGE is working, after all. The Washington Postcontinues,

The D.C. region’s economy is teetering on the edge of a painful slump, experts warn, as the Trump administration’s spending cuts, including the elimination of thousands of federal jobs, take their toll on an area that was already struggling to recover from the impacts of the pandemic.

We can only hope that the above is true. According to the Post, unemployment is up and bond ratings are down. I must say, despite (or because of) my living in the D.C. area for many years, I have zero sympathy for the current plight of its inhabitants.

The city that drove America into a $37 trillion debthas been living large the whole time. If the Capital region wants to do better for themselves, they need to do better for the rest of us.

Meanwhile, Trump’s approval rating in Rasmussen inched up, continuing the unbroken streak in positive territory for the month of May

The controversial essay is splashed in Ukrainian edition of playboy magazine.

A rather disturbing trend is ongoing in Ukrainian society, now that they’ve sent thousands of women into the veritable meat-grinder that is the war with Russia.

Now, the latest issue of Playboy is featuring Ukrainian women injured in the military conflict bearing… their battle scars.

  34. Living near the burnt out areas in S CA is giving me a personal window into how government becomes a stone on the backs of those experiencing a natural disaster tragedy. Hwy 1 has been closed since January killing businesses that weren’t destroyed by the fire. There have been very few building permits approved for the thousands of houses razed. The few houses that did survive have such severe smoke damage they are uninhabitable. The dam near the Palisades fire has yet to be refilled. Only one bureaucrat has been fired while all the rest remain at their high priced salaries. But, like most disasters and/or wars it’s the citizens and civilians who carry the brunt of the stupidity of leaders in government.

  47. Interesting take on those recent 100 day polls. This comment particularly –

I think he still is at Fox, he pointed out that when he examined the New York Times and the Washington Post polls, they were deliberately not counting people who surveyed that they were Trump voters in 2024.

That was half the country. They were only polling about a third. Think of that, a third of the people that said they voted for Trump, they polled.

Not half. So of course their results were going to be disputed or suspect. But here’s another thing.

There were analyses after each of the 2016, the 2020, and the 2024 elections about the accuracy of polls post-facto of the election. And we learned that they were way off in 2016. They said they had learned their lessons.

They were way off in 2020. They said they learned their lesson. And they were way off in 2024.

And why are they way off? Because liberal pollsters, and that’s the majority of people who do these surveys, believe that if they create artificial leads for their Democratic candidates, it creates greater fundraising and momentum. Kind of the herd mentality.
