“I believe NYC in fact was one of those who thought it was ok to bar people from restaurants for not wearing masks so spare me his newly found “anti-Fauci” stance.””
-Let’s put my argument in the proper context.
I did not think it was OK IF THE STATE made it a mandate to have masks.
However, I would have ZERO issue with an owner who thought a business could be run with that policy. It would strive or collapse on its own, without my patronage, of course. I would laugh at them, and simply move on to the next establishment.
Same as if a restaurant could discriminate against you for wearing a tank top, or shorts, or NOT having a blazer/dinner jacket on, I argued a mask is part of a dress code requirement.
And for those that will make the silly argument, it is not the same as discriminating against someone because of the color of their skin, their sexuality, their gender, and/or their religion.
Again, to repeat: IF AN INDIVIDUAL ESTABLISHMENT WANTS TO MAKE IT PART OF THEIR DRESS CODE REQUIREMENT, I WILL NOT STAND IN THEIR WAY OF THAT LUNACY.
Key word for those “translating”, make sure you get it right: INDIVIDUAL.
Ask the resident lawyer if you need assistance with that word.

I must be making a pretzel rod, because the reasoning is simple and straight forward.
Wear a mask(or slacks, or a blazer, etc etc etc), the owner will let you in.
Don’t wear a mask, go somewhere else. The owner, I am pretty sure, would be able to provide a mask free of charge for the patron, if so desired. Same as how a restaurant will lend a blazer to a patron, or how a pro shop at a golf club will sell you a pair of pants of a shirt with a collar on it.
As long as THE STATE doesn’t make the rule, the owner of that restaurant can choose the type of dress code they want, since they are not singling out anyone by race, color, religion, creed, and/or sexual preference.

BS.
Nothing is MORE discriminatory than requiring a mask, and only a certified moron thinks a mask is part of a dress code (well, maybe for a Halloween party).
A mask is not part of a dress code anymore than a oxygen tank is. Or underwater goggles.
The sole purpose of an owner trying to discriminate against non-mask users is exactly that, to discriminate. They want to force non-mask users to submit to whatever “health code” they have illegally established for their restaurant.
There is no difference between saying you have to wear a mask to come in and saying Jews cannot come in. None. Nada. Zilch.

If the owner refuses to provide a mask to a Jewish person but does provide one to a Muslim, that would be discrimination.
If the owner refuses to provide a mask to both, that would be discrimination.
If the owner offers a mask to both(all), it is not discrimination.
Pretty simple concept, actually. Not sure why the llama-lover can’t understand it.

Masks are not part of any dress code in America.

I said that the weapons being sent to Ukraine were mostly obsolete and scheduled to be removed from service/destroyed. They had to be replaced with newer weapons anyway. The new weapons cost money. The ones destined to be destroyed would cost money and manpower to destroy or they could be put to good use killing Russians. Tina knows this but she needs to lie for some reason.

Here is an interesting datapoint that cuts against the recession is imminent camp –
”New home sales rose 7.4 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 724,000, according to the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. That figure not only beat the consensus estimate of 682,000 but also topped the entire range of economist forecasts, which ran from 650,000 to 700,000. February’s sales figure was also revised slightly higher, from 676,000 to 674,000.
The jump in sales, driven largely by activity in the South, comes despite rising concerns about economic growth, elevated mortgage rates, and sliding consumer sentiment. It adds to a growing list of hard indicators—including strong employment and robust consumer spending—that point to ongoing resilience in the U.S. economy.”
I can confirm anecdotally that conditions are robust in the Southeast. We have unsolicited offers regularly to purchase our home and properties at insane prices.
