The entire video below with Kelly and VDH is rather good. However, if you want to get some perspective on how leftist gender and grievance ideology played a significant role in the Nashville shooter’s motivation, scroll forward to the 51st minute and give this a listen. Truly sickening stuff, which is being memory holed by the MSM –

🚨NEW: Steve Eisman gives the best take on tariffs played on cable news.
Joining CNBC’s ‘Fast Money,’ Eisman gave them the truth they didn’t want to hear.
“When Bill Clinton signed NAFTA, he said it would be great for GDP and jobs. He was right on the former and DEAD wrong on the latter.”
I don’t think Eisman will be invited back. 😂
“President Trump told them what he was going to do, and everyone is shocked that he did it,” he continued.
It really never ceases to amaze people that Trump is a man of his word.
It drives the media crazy that he is actually the PEOPLE’S president, not Wall Street’s.
A change that was absolutely the reason he was elected in the first place.

Eisman is wrong on both counts. The effect on GDP was positive, not huge.
And the jobs lost to Mexico and Canada were in fact minimal, you can make a much better “jobs lost” case for China.

Its the most fun rifle I have ever owned. The 357 caliber was good enough to take down wild boars over 100 yards out in Naples on a trip a few years ago. I love it more than the modern, high caliber stuff. Not to mention it looks really cool with the cowboy action collection. Go for it. You can up caliber it as well and buy whatever you think you need.

Yes, it was pretty compelling evidence if the facts were true.

When did good journalism in the U.S. die?
Used to be (many years ago) that news was reported. The facts. No slanting or twisting and then deciding to tell you what this news meant. Journalists personal opinions did not get in the way.
NOW, there is trash out there. It is 99% slanted and opinion and agenda journalism.
Fluff stories about celebrities…continually running old stories about this or that human interest things….
20/20 and 60 minutes USED to have some good shows. Not now. All crime stories and who committed this murder, or is so and so guilty.
I postulate it started with the Watergate thing and Nixon and reporters all wanted to go for the brash ring and be famous for delving in and uncovering corruption and become the next Woodward and Bernstein and shape the direction of the U.S. But oddly, we do NOT see reporters actually DOING this.
Yes social media has played a big part as the Andrew Joneses of the world took to social media to push their pet news scams.
The big [trusted] “stars” of the news business of 50 years ago are all gone away and nobody anywhere close to their caliber has stepped up to replace them.
Does journalism pay so little that nobody who is decent wants to go into that job? Do the big corporate owners only want to hire people who will push THEIR personal agenda?
There REALLY was NO good journalism in investigating charges from the 2020 election and doing the legwork necessary to track down the voters who “voted” absentee/mail in who really NEVER voted. Really no good journalism that investigated the influence of dark money in elections (both R and D dark $$), really no good journalism that investigated the increase in crime in America, or the negative impact of 14 million illegal immigrants being let in.

Congrats Fla on getting in near the lows. I didn’t buy anything, but it was a great time to sell options. Interestingly, the 1 Delta options are holding despite today’s move.
I think there’s choppiness ahead. We may have seen the lows, but it can all change with a tweet. If one of Trump’s buddies forgot to buy yesterday, he may have to put out a new tweet to send the market down temporarily.

VIX is a great play because volatility is always mean reverting. I’m all in on option selling. Option prices go up in times of high volatility. Great time to sell at those high prices. When vol reverts, those prices plummet even if stock prices don’t revert. Easy money.
I’m honestly very leery about buying. There’s too much chaos in the White House. Too much impulsiveness and frankly, incompetence. I’m comfortable with my positions (BL, may make that statement the gayest post of the day). I’ll only add if we go lower on lower volume and lower volatility, that signals a bottom. But traditional signals can’t be trusted with this administration.

Totally agree. I only started adding to my yield portfolio when the quality equities I watch started hitting my targets . Even if they kept trading through I don’t care because I’m really satisfied holding with that yield. Funny you mention options volatility. I only did covered call writing to squeeze some more yield out of non volatile positions. I wouldn’t touch that now for fear of getting called away. So for me, volatility has pushed further away from options. Too funny. Good luck to you big Joe.

Smart move staying away from covered calls, Fla. Unless you go out to a 1-2 delta, you better be ready to give up your stock (or roll the call).
My covered calls in SPY were just hit at 538 (0DTE). I was able to roll for a credit to 546. Rolling 8 points out one day and still getting a credit is extremely rare. Just shows you the volatility that is out there.
Congrats again on staying disciplined and buying even when markets were in turmoil. Typically, folks set a buy price, but then when its hit they get scared off and miss.
All that said, markets could be down 10% tomorrow. You just never know. For the first time ever, I’m considering stop losses to protect profits.

It’s obvious China was the target of Trump’s recent tariff strategy. While the prez’s unpredictability is unsettling, especially when eying investment possibilities, this has been his mode of business operation for a long time. In the meantime VierNam is flying a team over to meet with Trump, as Xi seems to be on the defense and planning on personally flying over to Malaysia to keep them in line – something he has never done before.

Mike, why are you speaking to me about Biden when I never mentioned him? Do you always think about Biden? That’s odd.
I haven’t done much last week either, other than sell some options. A market driven by fundamentals is more orderly and predictable. I don’t believe that was the state of the market over the past week. The wild swings seem to support the belief that markets prefer stability and clarity, but maybe i’m misreading and the markets actually prefer impulsiveness.
