Polls are polls, but WI turnout just might hit 2024 levels as it is already outpacing 2023 numbers. Low turnout would practically guarantee a Dem win there, so the higher turnout (with rural counties outpacing Dane and especially Milwaukee) gives the R a real chance.

Anyway, every election we hear “turnout is high” and that it is good for Rs (said by Rs) and good for Dems (said by Dems).
But intuitively I find it hard to believe the inner city Kamala voters in Milwaukee are all excited about the SC election.
We will see.

IOW, pollsters may have been modeling for a generic off year turnout, and thus their numbers would likely be correct. If the final turnout is on a presidential year scale, that puts the polling top lines into question.

WI has a lot of hunters. If they all come out to vote (they won’t) the R would win easily.
Just deer hunters there are over 600,000.
Hunting in WI adds about $2.2 billion a year to the state’s economy.
