My surgeon said I could start weight-bearing on my right leg as tolerated with the pain and using the walker. Made it out to a pharmacy and also dinner at a restaurant last night. The surgeon did not tell me that tolerable pain would set my leg on fire all night. Lesson learned.

New York Times columnist Ezra Klein spoke with a Democratic pollster Tuesday about how the dream of an ascendant Democratic majority is imploding as younger voters, especially White men, flee the party.
Klein interviewed David Shor, the head of data science at Blue Rose Research, a Democratic polling firm, for his podcast in an episode titled “Democrats Need to Face Why Trump Won.”
When Klein and Shor reviewed numerous charts, including one headlined, “2024 Democratic Support by Age – Split by Race and Gender,” the pollster explained that in this chart in particular, “One thing you can notice is that among 18-year-olds, women of color are the only of the four [race and gender demographic groups] that Harris won. Trump narrowly won nonwhite men.”
The Times columnist seized on one “shocking” finding in the data that defies one of the Democratic Party’s core beliefs.
“I find this part of this chart shocking. I sometimes talk about narrative violations, and if we knew anything about Donald Trump eight years ago, it was that young people didn’t like him. And Republicans had been maybe throwing away young people for generations in order to run up their margins among seniors,” Klein said. “But if you look at this chart, 75-year-old White men supported Kamala Harris at a significantly higher rate than 20-year-old White men
“It is a real shift,” Shor agreed. “This is the thing I am the most shocked by in the last four years — that young people have gone from being the most progressive generation since the Baby Boomers, and maybe even in some ways more so, to becoming potentially the most conservative generation that we’ve experienced maybe in 50 to 60 years.”
The data expert went on to discuss what he called “the scariest chart in this entire presentation,” which shows the massive and historically unusual polarization between young men and women.
“What’s crazy is that if you look at people under the age of 30, the gender gap has exploded. Eighteen-year-old men were 23 percentage points more likely to support Donald Trump than 18-year-old women, which is just completely unprecedented in American politics,” Shor said

Until this kind of thing is not viewed as “normal” and is again overwhelmingly ridiculed, there is not much hope for the country.

Bitter, as I’ve mentioned, a friend had a tib/fib erector set put in. One day the surgeon said, “the leg is fixed, you can’t hurt it in therapy…push it”. Doesn’t mean there wasn’t pain – there certainly was – but it helped to be free from the concern of going back to square one.

If you are bored and want to stir things up:
–Call in sick to various places where you do not work, and tell them you will not be in today.Then call the same places back that afternoon and ask to speak to (your own name).
–Call places that deliver food and place an order, but only speak in pig latin. And tell them the only money you have to pay for the order is Canadian.
–Try to catch wild animals of various sizes and put clothes on them.
–Get a contest going as to whether the 1928 NY Yankees or the 2012 Dallas Cowboys were the better team.
– Sit by the side of the road in a fake police uniform and look serious as you hold up and point a hair dryer at cars that drive by, and then pretend to be talking to someone on your cell phone at the same time.
–Get some orange cones to close off main thoroughfares and redirect traffic onto various side roads on some “detours”.
–Sit in a lawn chair with a box of balloons and string and ask people to help you get to Florida by blowing up balloons and tying them to your lawn chair.

–Go to WalMart, set up a table, and use a small bull horn to remind people they are not to turn their clocks up OR back one hour this month, while you also pass out flyers saying the same thing. And the next day, go back and try to get people to sign a petition to force the government to MANDATE everyone turning the clocks back one hour EVERY MONTH so we have extra time to do more stuff, or at least get an extra hour of sleep every month.
–After it rains, put on a raincoat and hat and sit in a lawn chair next to a small highway pothole with a fishing rod and line dangling in the water-filled pothole. Take along a stringer with 5 good sized fish on it to hang off your lawn chair.
–Attach a fake crank on the front of your car. Put your arm in a sling and pretend it is injured. Park near shopping areas, Then beg people to help you by turning the crank so you can get the car started and then drive home.

I think you call them “district judges” for a reason.
I think SCOTUS could determine the district judge rulings are limited their district and the plaintiffs in the case but not to the entire country and class of plaintiffs, just like in the “old days”

Even if you get all Rs to vote for impeachment, which I doubt, you will never get 2/3 of the Senate to go along.
The Dems will portray Boasberg as the victim at the hearings, ask him softball questions, and he is not going to divulge anything damaging to himself.
So IMO, a waste of time. Plus, a precedent for the Dems to go after conservative judges when they regain power in the House, which could be as early as 2026.
A better strategy is to get SCOTUS to limit the scope of rulings of these judges.

I watched the play several times.
If that kind of “traveling” was called in the NBA you would have a travel every minute of the game.
I don’t dispute it might have technically been a travel, just that it is almost never called. Somewhat like “holding” in the NFL, which occurs just about on every play.

-Right now, any district court judge is more powerful than 1 SCOTUS judge. A SCOTUS judge needs 4 other Justices to agree with him/her when they make a ruling. You only need one district court judge to stop the Executive Branch in its tracks.
Maybe SCOTUS should stop worrying about not kissing Trump’s ass, and just assert their own authority over their judicial underlings.
