  18. That’s a good question to ask Zelenskyy, as to what are his options now that he has alienated the US. Is Europe now going to rush to his aid, making up for what has been lost in US aid? Furthermore, France and the UK’s earlier in the week visits set up assistance for Ukraine, when it’s leader arrived for Friday’s signing of an agreement already forged verbally with Rubio and the treasury sec. All that is blown by Zelenskyy’s grandstanding.

OK, I watched the exchange. It started very innocuously, and Trump was fine. I think JD Vance was ok, but to be honest, he shouldn’t have been there to answer a question. He is a VP and should not be there with two Presidents.

I have to agree that Zelensky inflamed the situation, and you can tell he can not stand Trump…at all.

With that said, Vance really inflamed the situation, especially with his, “you haven’t thanked us” BS. Sorry, this isn’t middle school, you are not Mommy or Daddy. You don’t need to humiliate a foreign leader by saying he should be saying “Thank you” to us. That’s a bunch of BS. Again, he shouldn’t have been there.

Trump should have stepped in the middle of the two of them and said, let’s go to the other room and talk. He didn’t.

No one is blameless here. Zelensky is just as much as fault of Trump/Vance, and his comment about us feeling the same in the future was a BS comment.

So now there is going to be a massive vacuum caused by this.
I can tell you who will fill the void, get the deal done, get to rebuild Ukraine and get all those rare earths…in my next post.

with that said, Zelenskyy really turned up the heat a lot. There was no need for him to go back to 2014, and for him to try to implicate Trump in previous Russian incursions. They were not during his admin. Also, his “threat” that Americans would someday feel war was uncalled for.

neither side was right and both sides were wrong in this exchange. Vance was waiting to pounce on Zelenskyy, and Zelenskyy obviously hates Trump. He couldn’t contain his vitriol for him.

    It all starts at 40:30

    1) Zelensky essentially rejects how VP described the mandate of POTUS to conduct foreign affairs, and he insinuates that Trump term one did nothing to stop Putin.

    2) He then basically tells Vance that his ideas are faulty and that the administration’s diplomacy won’t work.

These two comments are *deliberately antagonistic.* Everything was all well and good, but Zelensky took two major shots in a public forum, and they had to respond. And respond they did.

Recall, this is the guy who interfered in our electoral politics and called VP “too radical,” and bashed Trump in an interview with New York Mag weeks before the election.
