DHS Secretary Kristi Noem announced that she will be enforcing the Alien Registration Act. Kristi: “The Alien Registration Act says that within 30 days of being in this country illegally, someone must register with the federal government, and they will be fingerprinted.” “They must announce that they are here, and if they do so, they can avoid criminal charges and fines and we will help them relocate right back to their home country.” “What this does is provide them an opportunity to come back someday, and to be a part of the American dream.” “If they don’t register, they are breaking the federal law, which has always been in place. We are just going to start enforcing it to make sure that these aliens go back home, and when they want to be an American they can come and visit us again.”

  11. Looks like Trump deported about 38,000 illegals in the first month.

At this rate he will deport about 450,000 a year or about 1.8 million for his entire term.

If he does that, it will be almost double what I predicted (1 million).

Of course, this not net, in January there were still 85,000 encounters and probably 400 to 500 are still entering undetected each day.

Still if the net is 1.5 million, especially if most are criminals, it will be a significant accomplishment, but hardly qualifies as “mass deportations” and 90% of illegals won’t be deported.

Actually this is not new. The US has always had programs for people willing to invest, EB-5 was created in 1990 for this purpose. You get a green card and after 5 years you can apply for citizenship

USCIS administers the EB-5 Program. Under this program, investors (and their spouses and unmarried children under 21) are eligible to apply for lawful permanent residence (become a Green Card holder) if they:

    • Make the necessary investment in a commercial enterprise in the United States; and
    • Plan to create or preserve 10 permanent full-time jobs for qualified U.S. workers
    • Investment AmountBefore 3/15/2022 $1,000,000 $500,000 $1,000,000On or After 3/15/2022 $1,050,000 $800,000 (includes infrastructure projects)

I think it is a good program.

This young woman’s father was able to emigrate to the US under family re-unification; she and her mother were then able to accompany her father. All are now highly-educated, very productive US citizens.
