Today is “International Walt Day.” A time when we can for a few moments set aside the endless arguing about the Russia/Ukraine war and the legacies of Reagan and Trump, and celebrate Walt.
In honor of Walt, here is my attempt to be like Walt:
An advertisement for a position of Carpenter is posted. A man applied for the job.
The boss and the hiring manager look over the application.
“Let’s see,” the boss began, “He’s got years of experience, but would he work?”
The hiring manager asked, “What’s his name?”
“Woody Work.”
“Would Woody Work work?”
“Woody Work would work.”
“The job is woody work, so if you think Woody Work would work the woody work, then Woody Work it is!”

I know it is frustrating for Walt, who engineered The Peace of Nicias signed between the Greek city-states of Athens and Sparta in March 421 BC that ended the first half of the Peloponnesian War, to have failed in achieving peace here at HHR.
In his defense, the differences here are more profound than those between Sparta and Athens.

If there is a terrorist attack, it will be Patel’s and Trump’s fault. Bet on it, no matter what the circumstances are.
It is the same tactic they are using for air crashes and the FAA.

Of course you do.
The 2nd amendment was to guarantee that the government could not take American citizens guns.
The 14th amendment was not to address the children of those here illegally, but rather those slaves and their prodigy who were in this country through slavery and had not been considered citizens previously.
Of course, someone has to know history as well as the original intent of the amendment. Something you would expect even the most mediocre of lawyers to understand, whether or not they agree with it.

The 14th amendment says if you born in the US you are a citizen.
What is was “supposed to address” is not relevant to what it states.
Frankly, I don’t understand the opposition to birthright citizenship. We should all want every baby, no matter what circumstance, to be a citizen, brought up in the US to be a citizen the same as any other baby born in a different circumstance.

Albertus Idioticus borrows the Dems logic to oppose the Constitution.
For example, they allege the 2nd Amendment’s “intent” was to allow a militia to have weapons.
They allege the “intent” was never to to allow regular citizens to bear arms, and the “intent” in any case was restricted to “muskets”.
Once you go down the “intent” rabbit hole, you can justify gutting just about any part of the Constitution.

Bitter,
Last summer, I went to the funeral of a former student. He was from a very poor family but a good athlete and hard working student. Played football, basketball and was a good baseball player. Sometimes when he was unable to get a ride home after a sports team practice, he would hide under the bleachers in the gym and spend the night there. Got his teaching degree and came back to teach with me at our high school. Years later, I also taught his daughter and his stepdaughters. After decades of teaching and decades of being our baseball coach, he retired. Died of a heart attack shortly afterward.
At his funeral, this was a poem he had written some years before that was printed on the back of the program at his funeral: (thought you would appreciate this)
“Inside The Park
Ninety feet apart at right angle set bases,
Three players guard and the catcher faces.
At the top of the peak stands a warrior tall,
Past the batter he’ll try to rifle the ball.
The batter steps into the box,
The shortstop pulls up his sagging socks.
The pitcher kicks up his leg to fire,
Strike one,” calls the umpire.
The pitcher leans back again,
The American flag blows in the wind.
The batter hits a bug in the rug,
The umpire makes sure each base he tug.
The outfielder reaches to pick up the ball,
The third base coach yells, “…touch ‘em all.”
The first baseman runs across the mound,
As the baserunner tires and slows down.
The outfielder makes a real strong throw,
The catcher tells the first baseman, “Let it go.”
The runner slides across the plate,
The catcher’s tag is a little late.
The umpire still must make a call,
Because after all–this is BASEBALL.
Ben Merica”

Also the US never provided $200 billion in aid.
“The story that 90 percent of all aid is [from] the United States … you and I understand that the truth is a little different, although we are certainly grateful for the help,” Zelenskyy said. “That is why I would like the Trump team to have more truth. We have totally different numbers.
“I know so far [the] war cost us $320 billion. Ukrainian taxpayers covered $120 billion. [The] U.S. and [the] European Union covered $200 billion in total. The U.S. has so far provided us [with] $67 billion worth of military aid and $31.5 billion direct budget aid,” Zelenskyy said.
The latest data from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, which has been independently tracking Western aid to Ukraine, suggest that Zelenskyy is closer to the truth than Trump.
As of February, donor countries had provided €267 billion in aid to Ukraine over the past three years: €130 billion in military assistance, €118 billion in financial support and €19 billion in humanitarian aid.
“Europe as a whole has clearly overtaken the U.S. in terms of Ukraine aid. In total, Europe has allocated €70 billion ($72.2 billion) in financial and humanitarian aid as well as €62 billion in military aid. This compares to €64 billion in military aid from the U.S. as well as €50 billion in financial and humanitarian allocations,” the study published last week reads.”

Telling Trump to GFH is potentially a gigantic error by Zelenskyy.”
In all his hundreds of posts shilling for Putin and attacking Zelensky, has Chicon ever said Putin committed an error or that Zelensky was right on something?
No?
Didn’t thinks so.

A guy meets a woman in Vegas at a bar, one thing leads to another, many drinks later at the end of the night they are at a chapel getting married.
Waking up next morning and seeing her next to him, he says “I have something to confess, I am a golf addict, i play golf, watch golf, bet on golf, 24/7”.
The woman says “I have something to confess too. I am a hooker”.
The guy looks crestfallen for a second but then he brightens up and says “have you tried changing your grip like this…”.

No, no no, Chicon. You definitely missed the point of something Anonymous said.
jason frequently claims NYCMike is a racist and bigot because NYCMike allegedly said foreign born jason should “go back to where he came from.” (Whether this did or did not happen I am not sure)
So the point is that if those who are left with no other option but to post as “Anonymous” start “signing” their posts, jason might take the handle or create a parody character to make it look like that person is saying things they would not otherwise say.
But perhaps this is just paranoia and he can be trusted to be completely honest and forthright on here.

Brilliant quote.. thank you for posting it here. If there is one description that is apt for both Putin and Trump it is most certainly “lying creature.”

You can believe Russia’s invasion was wrong but still see that that this can’t go on without a resolution.”
You mean one person can believe that Russia was wrong AND it’s time for Ukraine to get the best deal they can? Both can be true?!?
Amen, Nick. BTW, Nick, some conservatives, too….

Chicon, what happens in your mind if you were to read all that again and substitute the words Israel for Ukraine and Hamas for Russia?
Does it not sound just completely ridiculous then or would you still agree with it?

LOL
10 million people displaced, hundreds of towns and cities razed, hundreds of thousands killed, maimed, tortured, exiled, kidnapped, churches, hospitals, schools, and train stations bombed and shelled, infrastructure destroyed.
This is about as “wrong” as saying a mass killer is “wrong”.
This sounds like “oh our man Putin went a little far, the lovable oaf”. Are you sure “wrong” is not too strong a word?

Right, everyone who opposes Russian expansion, Putin’s war crimes and his invasion of Ukraine must be a “folk on the left”.
You can’t make this sh-t up.

Right, anyone using “accounting” as an excuse to allow Putin to annex Ukraine was supporting Russia.
Bingo!

That would make things worse. You should seek immediate help to deal with those feelings.
The fact that you have provided your full name sounds like a cry for help. You should get help. The site administrator probably has a responsibility to report this to make sure you get the appropriate help and are not a threat.
