    Wow, what an observant cuss.

I don’t speak for Bitter, but I haven’t been a Republican for 8 years so I have no delusions that I speak for the party or the party speaks for me.

The R party is now majority populist and that means isolationist and protectionist. It doesn’t have any core values or principles that I associate with a party I once supported and worked decades to promote.

But I don’t disagree that becoming a populist working class party is the way to go if the party wanted to survive as a national party. I was attacked relentlessly by the Amoral Scumbags of the world for pointing this out.

Things change. There are probably ex-Dems that miss a party that was liberal but not Marxist.

    Zzzzzz…

There is nothing illegitimate about Zelensky.

However, your hero Putin is certainly illegitimate since he runs a country with kangaroo elections and a police state that stifles all opposition.

Plus, our aid goes to Ukraine, not Zelensky. It is the brave Ukrainian soldiers defending their country that get the weapons we send.

In the end, that is what bothers the war crimes supporting “nurse”. The fact the aid has been effective.

    Not quite true.

I am actually pleasantly surprised a crony capitalist like Trump who never demonstrated any interest in fiscal responsibility and is on record as saying deficits don’t matter, just print more money, is taking concrete steps to reduce the size of government through DOGE.

Limited government is a core principle of conservatism and DOGE is a a great initiative.

I still don’t think the R party of today is committed to limited government but I won’t look a gift horse in the mouth.

The testimony from Trumps actions, own administration officials and Georgia officials is pretty damning. I know the majority of people on HHR a will have a hissy fit when they read this. How on earth is it legal for a law firm with clients and business before DOJ to provide $140,000 in free gifts to a top DOJ official?

DOJ rules and federal regulations explicitly prohibit officials like Jack Smith from accepting or soliciting gifts.

Smith, who did not receive a pardon from Joe Biden, needs to be criminally investigated for this.

Reflecting a consistency in decreasing support for Ukraine was another poll showing 78% of Americans vs 16% wanted a negotiated peace deal – similar to what the Ukrainian people themselves want.

  43. What a realistic review of Zelenskyy and Ukraine looks like:

Overnight, the media transformed him into the embodiment of courage, the Churchill of Kyiv, the man who refused to flee, the warrior standing against tyranny. But what if this narrative is entirely false? What if Zelensky, rather than being the hero in this story, is actually the man who won’t allow the war to end — not for the good of his people, but because peace would mean his own downfall?

A good leader prioritizes the survival of his nation. He knows when to fight, and more importantly, he knows when to negotiate. Zelensky, however, has made it clear that his power depends on war, and war alone.

It is no coincidence that as Ukraine’s battlefield prospects worsen, as soldiers defect, as forced conscription spirals into something resembling kidnapping, Zelensky has once again extended martial law. No elections. No peace talks. No escape. Because if the war ends, so does his presidency. And this, more than anything, explains why the war must go on.

The mainstream media — particularly in the West — does not allow for nuance. The world must be simple: Putin is the villain, Zelensky is the hero. That is the framework. That is the script. Anything outside of this binary is “pro-Russian propaganda.” Yet reality is not a comic book; it’s not a Marvel movie. Zelensky is not some saintly soldier defending democracy. In fact, Ukraine barely resembles a democracy at all.

Since Russia’s invasion in 2022, Zelensky had banned several opposition partiesbanned certain media outlets and postponed elections with the justification that wartime voting is “impossible.”Impossible for whom? For the soldiers in the trenches, or for the civilians now living under indefinite martial law?”
