I think it is necessary to continue to provide vaccines for “eradicated” disease. If not, the death toll would be massive if they came back. I hope we can agree on that.
Bjorn Lomborg offers a statistic that 400 million people died of smallpox through 1979 – a disease that has now been eradicated. Vaccinations did that.
McConnell is misrepresenting what RFK Jr said about Polio vaccines. There are 6 polio vaccines in use worldwide currently. RFK Jr’s comments was specifically about one of the six vaccines. Not all of them. There is a reason it is the least used, but still it is being used when much better (and more efficient) vaccines are available.
“I think it is necessary to continue to provide vaccines for “eradicated” disease. If not, the death toll would be massive if they came back. I hope we can agree on that.”
-Yes, very much agree.
There was a point where, all of a sudden, the number of vaccines for children exploded. I posted an RFK interview this past Septemberm during the Presidential campaign, which spoke about that timeline, and that was/is the focus of much of his, and many others, questioning attitudes. Maybe you missed that link……..
I did say that today’s date, being very far off from the next election, makes polls very unimportant, in regards to Trump and his administration. Same as how I see that Rasmussen Reports poll not that important either, for the same reason.
It’s too early in this cycle to be worried about public opinion.
You have an agenda, plow ahead with it, and FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!
Next February we can talk about polls.
Right now, just continue with plenty of action on all fronts!
I am a huge fan of medication. I try to get my doctors to prescribe antibiotics whenever possible. I’m not sure how much of what I eat is actually food and how much is chemicals. It works for me. If you want to spend your life readings labels and eating the cardboard RFK, Jr. allows, go for it.
Is it too much to allow those who don’t, like VP Vance’s family member, to receive the same type of care that you would? She is being refused treatment because she would not take the covid vaccine.
Pretty sure RFK won’t interfere with your medication-taking.
Hopefully he can help that girl get the right treatment despite not taking the covid vaccine, and I hope you do as well.
Looking into this details about the girl who is supposedly JD Vance’s distant relative.
First of all, it is a horrible situation when any child is facing a health crisis. Of course, she should get all necessary treatment that will be effective for her.
This particular discussion appears to be about a heart transplant, which is not a common treatment. Transplanted hearts, especially for children, are very difficult to come by. The parents have not had the child vaccinated for anything, not just Covid. The hospital is saying that makes it far more likely that such a compromised immunity status would cause her body to reject a transplanted heart within the first year.
We should assume the hospital will not be throwing a donated heart into the garbage to prove a political point. The heart will go to another child patient who critically needs one and is more likely to have the transplant succeed, even if they do not happen to be a distant relative of JD Vance.
Debates over vaccine mandates are far different than a claim that the Covid vaccine is a killer or dangerous or should be banned. If one truly believes that, then they would also have to consider Donald Trump to be complicit in mass murder.
The statistics are clear. You can compare the death rates and hospitalization rates from Covid from before the vaccine was available to those rates among people who took the vaccine when it became available. Clearly, it worked. Maybe it did not stop people from getting Covid as many hoped and perhaps was inaccurately claimed but definitely in stopping people from dying of Covid or getting very sick.
There is simply no evidence to suggest that people who took the vaccine died or got very sick simply because of the vaccine. If so, the media would have certainly focused on that as a “failure of the Trump Administration” since Operation Warp Speed was on his watch and he talked frequently back then about how proud of it he was. Yes, it is possible that there are rare exceptions, but those numbers would be minuscule compared to the lives that were saved because of the vaccine.

RFK is going to put regulations on food and school lunches that will make Michelle Obama look like Guy Fieri.

-A Republican Congress should stop him. I would expect them to.

The only reason I don’t get the flu vaccine is because I wish I could get the flu. I could use a day off. But I never get it.

They won’t. It’s Tina and janz’s party now. This is what Trump voters want.

-Wrong. Pretty sure there will be a healthy debate about this. Trump voters are definitely not monolithic in their thinking on health issues.

What Trump wants, Trump will get. Full stop. He told Bobby to “go wild” on food. That is what will happen and his voters will applaud.

-Too much regulation and prices will go up, which will not be good for Trump and/or Republicans. And voters will not applaud if prices go up.
Trump will not let Bobby “go wild” if that is the result.

I never supported the COVID mandates. I believe in vaccines early and often for children. Both can be true.
