Jamie Raskin’s wife previously served at the top levels of the treasury and the federal reserve during the Obama administration.
Raskin took eight months to disclose his wife’s sale of 195,936 shares of Reserve Trust, where she sat on the advisory board. This sale resulted in $1.5 million in profit for Raskin’s wife.
This was a violation of the Stock Act.
But that’s not the real story, the real stories is that in 2018, when she sat on the advisory board, the Fed granted Reserve Trust unusual access to its master account — an enviable get that allows the fintech company to move money for customers without relying on banks.
This was the only state chartered trust company in the country to get one.

Bitterlaw, Jason,
Is it not an issue that 1 district judge can halt the work of the nations executive simply by declaring something, in his/her opinion, unconstitutional? Shouldn’t the President, and the citizens of this country, expect an expeditious ruling by the higher courts to facilitate action one way or the other? Does the President have to force the issue by disobeying the order, or should the President wait for some DOJ employee to get off their arse and get a hearing?
Senator Tom Coburn, back during the Tea Party days, attempted valiantly to expose a lot of what we have found out in the first three weeks of the 2nd Trump Presidency…….i suspect that the majority of his fellow Congress-critters had a similar reaction as Jason and Bitterlaw, while very few demanded more action like Tina wants.
We all saw what happened to Coburns attempts at structural reform.
Here is where I would love to be able to say I spent hours last night combing through thousands of lines of html coding, and finally found the cause of the problems yesterday, and spent another two hours rewriting the code so HHR would be back to normal.
But in the end, it just started working again on its own. I had nothing to do with it. So thanks for your praise of my efforts, but jason can go back to disparaging me, as I won’t take credit for something I didn’t do.
First 3 weeks were awesome.
All the Left needed was 1 district court judge to put things back in order.
The only power a President has, when confronted by a district court judge – file an appeal. It’s right there, in the Constitution.
Is it not an issue that 1 district judge can halt the work of the nations executive simply by declaring something, in his/her opinion, unconstitutional?”
Not really. That is what appeals are for.
Justice is not blind, that is a crock. If all cases were decided on merits, you wouldn’t have most SCOTUS decisions split among conservative vs. liberal votes.
I think this judge is wrong on the merits. But should he be impeached because we don’t like his ruling? No.
Should he be impeached because he was a big time donor to Dems in the past? No.
Shouldn’t the President, and the citizens of this country, expect an expeditious ruling by the higher courts”
The Judiciary, as an independent branch, does not need to be as “expeditious” as the President wants, no.
Does the President have to force the issue by disobeying the order?
No, the President is not entitled to “disobey the order”.
“Wow, NYC just discovered we have 3 independent branches of government?”
Now if the judge could just learn that we have 3 independent branches of government, and that this judge is not the executive branch. The judge ruled that the executive branch has no control over executive functions. Its this judge that needs to learn about separation of powers, not Trump.
Meanwhile, Biden got away with just ignoring the decision of the SCOTUS. I am not calling for our side to do that. But threatening this judge with impeachment while trying to go about the proper appeal is a good thing, as it highlights how outrageous this is.
But there is no way this country will survive if the left gets to play by one set of rules, which is basically they can do whatever they want, whenever they want, lawlessly, when our side has to play by all the rules.
If that is the playing field, then we have already lost and might as well pack it up.
I am not saying that we resort to breaking the law, but when the other side so outrageously violates the separation of powers, it makes sense to point that out as loudly as possible.
What Democrats would do is use an unrelated issue to complain about the Registration system and then bitch about the guy trying address it (for free). All while yelling at others to start their own blog.
Tina, the fear of Russia is strange. Russia’s GDP is near those of Canada and Italy. The US GDP is about 15 times larger than that of Russia. Europe has plenty of economic power to easily deal with Russia.
China’s GDP is now more than half that of the US, and is about eight times larger than Russia’s.
CONGRESSWOMAN JASMINE CROCKETT: “I don’t know why you bring in some tech guy [Elon Musk] for finding wasteful spending. We don’t have any auditors. Elon is using his propaganda machine to lie. We will rein him in.”
“We don’t have any auditor” should be good campaign ad fodder for the GOP in 2026. Dems think they are entitled to YOUR money, and to spend it on whatever THEY want, and you are not allowed to know how they spend it.
