Programming note:
Bitter and I often agree, but we disagreed on the last thread, and of course one of us is a Phillies fan, and the other a Mets fan. But I consider Bitter my friend, and we were able to disagree without name-calling or animus.
I know Vic agrees as well, that our aim as leaders of HHR is that we be…
a) not an echo-chamber, so we welcome healthy disagreement
b) not be a conspiracy theory site.
c) not be a place where its all nastiness and hate.

Not Tanzania or Kenya.
Bitter has to wait until its open for second guesses.

HHR now has leaders? Who knew? Leaders who now tell other people how to “behave” Good, leaders, get to work and find out whats wrong with the posting system. And don’t forget to GFYs while at it.

DW is so infatuated with his new “leader” status that he wants to impeach federal judges he doesn’t agree with. Amazing how this type of absolute power will go to someone’s head.

Vic, Bitter and I are system administrators of the site. “Leader” may not be the right term, but we are not telling people how to behave, but giving a vision for what would be most apt to help the site grow.
echo-chambers don’t grow, conspiracy theory pages don’t grow, and a place full of anger and hate doesn’t grow.
We delete posts only as a last resort and after several warnings.

I would stay longer to venerate the leaders but there is treasure and rusty buttons to be found on Oak Island. I will be back tomorrow to see what else the leaders are recommending.

Or maybe just one or two voices.

I understand – if you want to run a site with highly opinionated posters, you have to set some standards. I think your recent post says it well.

San Diego isn’t a state or a country, so I could disqualify your answer, but I won’t.
California is the correct answer, so you got it right.
San Diego Zoo as Bitter mentioned on his second guess.

I think “friend” is a bit strong with a Mets fan but I see the bigger point.

Is that California?!?! Were there clues somewhere in picture?
It reminded me of a drive friends and I went on when we lived out there. Such a beautiful state! Terrible that voters chose to let such crazies lead them.

DW – when I hover above the gravatar for certain people (janz, Walt, myself), you can click on it, and it goes to a “profile” page.
When you hover on the other people, it says “profile not found”.
Would that be an issue?

-“Yup, no doubt about it: Biden’s proposal would’ve been met with thunderous applause. (And it would be Republicans yelling about the perils of Big Tech.)”
This guy is wrong. If any Democrat had been willing to perform an audit, PUBLICLY, I would have been very happy to support that!

“Musk is still respected as a generational genius (the rambling protests of AOC notwithstanding), but his cars and rockets are largely dependent on government subsidies, deals, and contracts; the inherent conflict is obvious.”
-The writer of that article was also wrong about this. Musk has stated publicly that Tesla, while taking advantage of the electric car subsidy, did not support that policy from the start. The policy was one pushed by GM and Ford, if I recall correctly. Also, he doesn’t get “subsidies” for SpaceX from the government, he keeps winning contracts, as SpaceX is the lowest cost rocket company, and they are lowering the costs per pound with every launch, but the company is not dependent on those government contracts for business, but they do help with volume discounts across the board.

If Edward Snowden ever returns to the United States from Russia, it should be to spend every day of the rest of his life behind bars here.

To be more precise, it’s the Safari Park located out past Escondido, which is property of the San Diego Zoo. They used to have a few lions out of cages forty years ago, but last time I was there, they are are in a small containment now.
