The Putinistas can stop lying about aid to Ukraine.

Zelensky is correct, Ukraine did not get $200 billion from the US, only about half of that.

“It’s important to note that of the $175 billion total, only $106 billion directly aids the government of Ukraine. Most of the remainder is funding various U.S. activities associated with the war in Ukraine, and a small portion supports other affected countries in the region.

A large share of the money in the aid bills is spent in the United States, paying for American factories and workers to produce the various weapons that are either shipped to Ukraine or that replenish the U.S. weapons stocks the Pentagon has drawn on during the war. One analysis, by the American Enterprise Institute, found that Ukraine aid is funding defense manufacturing in more than seventy U.S. cities.”

And of course, every penny sent to Ukraine and used to procure weapons in the US WAS audited.

    Memo to NYC moron.

I support free trade. I don’t believe in stupid tariffs or stupid trade wars or in the failed AFL-CIO agenda of the last 70 years.

Not supporting tariffs means not supporting tariffs and thus not supporting the “threat of tariffs” either. It means I don’t support using tariffs as a “negotiating stance”. Concessions or “deals” made as a result of threats or coercion are the opposite of free trade.

NAFTA is a free trade agreement. There should be ZERO trade restrictions, duties, protectionism, tariffs, etc. among the US, Canada and Mexico.

Hope it is clear to the “I oppose tariffs, but Trump’s tariffs are different” moron.

Have Tina and NYC called Ron Johnson a traitorous RINO yet?

    You know its coming.

Sen. Ron Johnson: “I Share The Market’s Concerns” About Tariffs, “Smoot-Hawley Was Not Particularly Successful”

Wisconsin Republican Sen. Ron Johnson, an ally of President Trump, told Newsmax on Monday morning that he is concerned about the effect tariffs on Canada and Mexico could have on the U.S. economy.

“In general, tariffs are a tax. When you tax something, you get less of it. So we’ll probably get fewer imports, but then with retaliation, fewer exports. Smoot-Hawley was not a particularly successful round of tariffs—it helped spark the Depression. So I share the market’s concern, but we’ll see what Trump really has in mind here,” Johnson said.

“I hope we don’t end up with long-term 25% tariffs against each country. I don’t believe that’s productive. It’s going to hurt Americans, American companies, and American exporters. It will hurt American consumers long term,” Johnson said. “So again, I just can’t predict where this all goes, but I’m concerned. I don’t know what else I can really say.”

SEN. RON JOHNSON: We’ll have to wait and see to find out what exactly does happen. I share the market’s concerns. By and large, I want free trade around the world.

-He doesn’t like our nation being taken advantage of, which the last 20-30 years has shown that we have been.

I think he would rather NOT HAVE TARIFFS, but using/threatening them against certain nations tends to give our nation leverage in negotiations.

You disagree. History will be the judge.

“CHICAGO–Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, argued for more U.S. tariffs as he appeared before the Economic Club of Chicago on Tuesday.

“To me the most beautiful word in the dictionary is ‘tariff,’” the former president told an audience of about 600 business executives and others gathered in a basement ballroom of a hotel here during an interview with Bloomberg Editor in Chief John Micklethwait. Trump plans to use tariffs to raise revenue for the U.S., while claiming that tariffs will be paid by foreign countries rather than American consumers”
