    LOL…

“Senior U.S. District Judge John Coughenour on Thursday was blistering in his criticism of Trump’s action as he granted a temporary restraining order that blocks Trump’s executive order from taking effect nationwide.

“I’ve been on the bench for over four decades, I can’t remember another case where the question presented is as clear as this one is. This is a blatantly unconstitutional order,” Coughenour, an appointee of Ronald Reagan, said from the bench. “There are other times in world history where we look back and people of goodwill can say where were the judges, where were the lawyers?”

This is an unforced error by Trump. It is a sure loser and its just going to be a distraction from things where he can win.

I asked 2 guys who work with me, both naturalized citizens, their views on the matter. Both scoffed at the idea that ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS can have children who automatically become citizens, while they both went through almost a decade of constant supervision and lawyer expense to get their cherished citizenship.

In the previous thread, GF seems to have a logical approach to the situation.

Iirc, I thought the odds were against the EO withstanding constitutional scrutiny, and that it might not get to the Court at all. I’m sure a TRO was in the plans; the fun starts at the appellate level.

Btw, Judge Coughenour is appointed by Reagan. Back then Senators were given veto power over judicial nominations in the state, so a Reagan appointed judge in the State of Washington is not necessarily a judicial conservative.

He had such a lenient sentence for one of the millennium bombers that the 9th Circuit Court of Psychos overruled and tried to have him removed from the case.

Right now, according to jason, Bitterlaw, a judge in Washington state (and probably many others) and the mainstream media, if a tourist visiting from another country has a child here, that child doesn’t automatically become an American citizen, even though it was born in America, but if an illegal alien from the same country has a child here, it immediately becomes an American citizen, because it was born in America……..and the people/entity mentioned don’t see any issue with those scenarios.

From Jan. 17-19, the Border Patrol encountered 4,000 people, which fell to 1,940 on Jan. 20-21, as Trump took office. Wednesday numbers reached 440 by 8p.m.

As of this morning, Rowe hadn’t packed up his office, as an official previously asked him to do, two sources tell RealClearPolitics. (It has been known since last week Thursday that Trump was planning to tap Curran — Donald Trump Jr. tweeted his enthusiastic support on Friday morning.) Curran is getting inundated with information on which top officials on the 8th floor of headquarters to oust or replace. I’m hearing quite a few names of top officials on the removal wishlist, as well as names of those Curran or other members of his new leadership team already informed that their leadership services are no longer needed. Last night about 11 p.m. power went off for like 5 seconds and then came back on. Went to bed about midnight. At 12:20 power goes off and stays off. Lay there to see if I can hear the heat pumpo outside my bedroom kick back on. Crickets. Then at 12:30 a.m. it starts and we have power again.

Wake up at 7:30–no power. Cripes on a crutch.

Whole area of the country where I live is without power. We try to get out the battery powered starter to start the gas fireplace. Error code. No dice. Call the gas company that installed the gas fireplace. No real person. Left message.

    I go to play bridge.

At 3 p.m. bridge is over. Stop by the gas place. Guy takes me over to a display fireplace to show me how easy it is to take fireplace apart to get to a little control box to slip a toggle switch, and then flip it back, wait 30 seconds and it resets the device so the battery pack will work. He had ALL KINDS of trouble getting various parts of the fireplace off to GET TO the little control box.

I go home (by this time we DO have power restored) and have ALL KINDS OF TROUBLE getting various parts off, reset the toggle switch and it works and I get the gas fireplace working.

Then have ALL KINDS of trouble getting all the parts reinstalled.

The Amendments to the constitution gave all former slaves full citizenship, and that was good.

The Amendments said any children born to former slaves are now U.S. citizens, and this is good.

    ***********

Taking the amendment and saying that anyone who comes here and births a child on U.S. soil is now a U.S. citizen is BAD.

Don’t care whether the child was born to foreign tourists here for a week, diplomats from other countries, people from other countries working at the U.N., illegal immigrants who sneaked into the U.S. They should NOT be granted U.S. citizenship.

If a child is born of a person who came into the U.S. legally (but who is perhaps not a U.S. naturalized citizen) then that child IS a U.S. citizen.
