Don’t pardon violent ones automatically , unless it’s a case like Luke Coffee. Maybe consider a commutation for him. I am sure he can win outside of the dc court of commies on appeal (Supreme Court?)
After 42 years as a diabetic, today I started using an insulin pump. I am afraid to eat because I don’t know how to count carbs and don’t eat regular meals so I will be F’ing up the insulin. It was easier to just take 5-6 shots a day.

“CNN on Friday paid Navy Vet Zachary Young an undisclosed settlement for punitive damages after it was already ordered to pay $5 million in emotional and financial damages.
Zachary Young sued CNN for defamation over a 2021 report on his work helping Afghans during Biden’s botched withdrawal.
The lawsuit against CNN stemmed from their coverage of Biden’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal, which the court previously determinedshowcased “actual malice, express malice, and a level of conduct outrageous enough” for Plaintiff Zachary Young to seek damages.”
CNN paid an undisclosed settlement to a U.S. Navy veteran on Friday after a Florida jury found the network defamed him when it implied he illegally profited from helping Afghans flee the country during a 2021 segment on “The Lead With Jake Tapper.”
The settlement was made while the jury deliberated on how much CNN owed in punitive damages for libel. Earlier in the day, the network was ordered to pay Zachary Young $5 million in compensatory damages.
After the judge announced that a settlement had been reached, one of the jurors asked if they could hear said number. When the judge looked at both CNN and Young’s attorneys and received no response, they replied, “Apparently not.”
I would have waited for the jury….but maybe that CNN would appeal and $$$ now is an incentive to settle.
It is usually better for the defendant to choose what it will pay rather than what the jury tells it to pay. CNN’s lawyers probably read the jury throughout the case.
I don’t see how it would have been less than $10 million, considering the $5 million already awarded for compensatory damages. The punitive had to be more.

If my insulin pump kills me, DW and Vic will carry on HHR.
It’s hard to accept a medical condition like diabetes. However, by opposing therapeutics or procedures that might help defray how it negatively effects your health, is being in a constant state of running away from stabilization or improvement.
I’m probably beyond help. I haven’t eaten since yesterday. Too stressed to try and set the insulin dose to eat food. I was fine with multiple injections per day. Control wasn’t great but at least I could eat.
I echo what DW suggested – talking to your doctor. Also, discuss with your wife your trepidation about the insulin pump. It’s a new way to deal your diabetes. Once you’re familiar with it you’ll adjust….

Basically, on pardoning, Trump should do the following:
Review all cases:
Then pardon all non violent ones.
“Violent one” Pardon or commutate the sentences, like Luke coffee.
Any officers that waved folks in or hit non violent j6ers should be fired.

Case by case for violent offenders:
“Violent one” consider a possible Pardon or commutate the sentences, such as in the example of Luke coffee.

Just a last comment from the Alcatraz thread…

Yep. Hard to believe. Except that I can only look in my back yard and pardon the poor and bad pun….Gary Ridgway aka The Green River Killer.
Led a crime free life for almost two decades before technology caught up with him. And only technology got this guy thanks to Dave Reichert.
