“Today we voted for Mike Johnson as speaker of the House because of our steadfast support of President Trump and to ensure the timely certification of his electors,” the group wrote.
“We did this despite our sincere reservations regarding the Speaker’s track record over the past 15 months.”
Zzzzz…. hostage taking clowns.
Johnson should tell the Freedom Caucus deadenders GFYs, “vote for Jeffries if you want. There are 200 other Republicans who won’t vote for any of you clowns. Make your choice”
You have to admire the arrogance of the GOP losers in the Speaker fight. Their Cult leader told them to F off and they still had to issue a statement about their “reservations.”
Johnson should get like 200 signatures vowing not to vote for ANY freedom caucus clown for speaker should they try to remove him. They can vote for him or for Jeffries.
Call their bluff.
I am sure they will have a lot of “influence” under Jeffries.
All of the 200 you think are blind followers of Johnson as well as the other 18 who voted to support Johnson are simply supporting President Trump.
If Trump supports Johnson, they will support him.
If Trump opposes Johnson, someone else will be speaker.
Only idiots who do not understand that the GOP party of 2025 is the TRUMP-MAGA party cannot see this. Like others have astutely pointed out, Trump/MAGA deniers are ostriches.
The “ostriches, free passers, and Putin cat-callers” will be instantly slapping down the Zerohedge source in order to continue their costly obsession over Ukraine. No amount of negative news coverage, polling of the Ukrainian people, losses and suffering of front line soldiers seems to penetrate their mental armor of self righteous, wrong-headed awareness of the futility of this war, bleeding our own resources into an intrinsically corrupt government.
”In Ukraine, high-level corruption ranks second among the main concerns of Ukrainians after the Russian-Ukrainian war, a survey conducted by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption revealed. The results of the research previously presented by the Transcarpathian news portal Kárpáti Igaz Szó show that 71.6 percent of the population consider this to be the country’s second-biggest problem, and 73 percent of entrepreneurs think the same.
According to 87.9 percent of the population and 81.3 percent of businesses, the level of embezzlement in the country has increased compared to 2022. Many hold Zelensky responsible, with 47.5 percent of citizens and 48.3 percent of company representatives stating that combating corruption is the responsibility of the president and his office.”
”And what becomes of Trump/MAGA when Trump leaves the stage? “
Movements continue to grow when they are seen as successful and honest. When Trump finishes his 2nd and last term in office, a MAGA successor will only happen if promised reforms and administrative changes were able to be successfully implemented.
Bitter says….And what becomes of Trump/MAGA when Trump leaves the stage?
I’d guess that Vance carries the ball. The real question is what happens to the GOP when Trump leaves the stage? Maybe it’ll return to the sweater-wearing, country club party that’s been so dominant in the past twenty years.
In 2016 the nationalist populous movement was getting its message out and defining itself. People liked it, despite establishment republicans not signing on with few endorsements, legacy news outlets 24/7 criticizing it, and Dems laughing at the sheer lunacy of a political newbie challenging the old. In 2020 the left was ready to foil the growing enthusiasm for the new movement by the only means they were good at – throw enough legislative nail strips and illegitimate ballots in the way guaranteeing their win. In 2024, the new movement had only grown, despite all the lawfare tactics, assassination attempts, threats and jail time to its leaders. It had also become more appealing to not only establishment R’s but also an array of other party members, creating an historic win. That’s where we are today.
Establishment politicians, though, from both major parties, have either been a part of the opposition or reluctant “joiners” of what is today a popular movement. However, should MAGA lose its shine, the establishment politicians will once again joyfully work against it.
Sane – I did not read it yet. I read one short summary in a news article that gave an example of a doctor who was disciplined for refusing to comply with state law on prescribing opiates and then claimed he had a first amendment right to over-prescribe. I am sure it is a more complex issue. At least your link wasn’t from Gateway Pundit or ZeroHedge.
I don’t loathe MAGA voters. I loathe isolationism, protectionism, support of rioters and attacking law enforcement, and rewarding Putin. Collateral damage.
I hate sweaters.
Do you honestly think you can win without conservatives like me?
Big win today for #FoodFreedom as Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania affirmed the trial court decision allowing #Amish farmer #AmosMiller to continue to make his wonderful food available to customers outside the state. Thank you to everyone who spoke out for Amos!
I am watching a ceremony in DC honoring the 200th anniversary of the Marquis de Lafayette’s 1824’s speech to Congress in 1824. Speaker Johnson opened the ceremony. I’m sure Tina and Jan would disapprove.

peaker Johnson vowed to rein in the Administrative State. All elected Republicans voted for this position. Ostriches hardest hit”
Wow, this is a momentous GOAL POST MOVING ALERT!
The administrative state composed of entrenched bureaucrats intent on creating even bigger bureaucracies has always existed.
The fact the conspiracy theory morons are admitting there is no Deep State is a major step forward.
By all means reign in the administrative state.
The Deep State? Maybe we can include it in the Fictional Character Museum under the “Evil Secret Cabal that Never Existed” category.

When Trump was not on the ballot in 2018 and 2022, too many of the Cult sat out the election. Not a good sign going forward.

And when they did, how’d the GOP do?

MAGA did not win the White House in 2016 and 2024. MAGA and the Republicans you despise won it together. Accept it.

What’s the sweater crowd’s plan to win if they can’t keep the unwashed MAGA types you loathe to stay?

Bitter,
Any comment on the DeWine veto that was discussed yesterday after reading the text in the bill?

Raw milk can make you sick. But if people want to risk illness, that is on them.
I prefer my milk without salmonella, E. coli, and listeria. Sue me.

Of course, many of the people celebrating “food freedom” also look forward to RFK, Jr. imposing more European-style regulations on food.
