The Dems have a shallow bench of worthy candidates to rise up as a leader of their party. Consequently, people hang onto the last “name,” no matter how bad that space holder was, as simply a symbol differentiating the parties from one another. Kamala is such a symbolic placeholder – vapid in character, terrible in her delivery, but still having a “D” by her name. The Obamas and Clintons have long occupied dem leadership roles. However, younger generations have moved on and these once powerful names mean little to them anymore. That’s why AOC is making noises about filling the void in 2028.

Agreed Vic. Fatal because even if everything goes well, and the operation works to secure the broken bones, the surgery, the time in bed, the therapy, all this puts too much stress on the frail body, and the patient enters a spiral of health problems that ends in death.

I don’t wish upon San Fran Nan the usual consequences of a hip fracture at her age, but if Pelosi joins the choir of angels soonest, I will not feel a lick of compassion. Heck, if she joins the cacophony of demons, I may be tempted to raise a glass (though I will refrain from so doing).
When I wrote while back that I was done with Dem politicians for all the horror they wrought on me and my family via their misgiuded policies on Covid, I meant it. I will never advocate for violence against them as they gladly do when fomenting their street thugs into action agaist us, but neither will I lift a finger to help them, nor raise an eyebrow if news of ill tidings having come their way breaks.

Yes, they can be that brittle. As Jason noted above, people with severe osteoporosis can fracture without a fall. It’s usually older females who have severely decreased bone density levels. And sometimes they can fracture and not even realize it. If it’s a small fracture, they may even be able to walk on it without realizing it at first. Usually at some point, they will start noticing hip or groin pain. It’s a pretty small minority of people that actually fracture before the fall. Most fractures are caused by the fall itself. The Orthopedic Surgeon that I work with at the hospital, will often times go in and replace the hip instead of just doing a pinning. Of course there are a lot of factors that have to be considered, like age……location of fracture….. stability of the surrounding musculature and joint…..etc ………
