New week. No polls.

  1. I have not been to DailyKos in years. The prevailing view is that Hunter Biden was unfairly prosecuted by a politicized DOJ controlled by right wing extremists. Also, the MSM is also controlled by Trump’s allies. Ok. No need to go back for a few more years.

I think the Deep State got to Biden.

At the last meeting the Exalted Deep State Grand Maji was upset Biden had refused to pardon Hunter so they secretly drafted the pardon and told Biden it was for the turkeys.

  7. NEVER AGAIN do I want to hear ‘Trump’s a liar, you can’t believe anything he says. Trump will abuse his power. Trump will only use the system to benefit himself, his family.’ Never, ever again.” “Why did [Hunter] need an 11-YEAR BLANKET PARDON, going back to 2014, when Joe Biden was vice president? We are sitting on the biggest coverup of who-knows-what crimes, and Joe Biden – AMAZINGLY – knows exactly, roughly, when it happened.”

“Biden is leaving office making the strongest possible case for Donald Trump […] Our government, our justice system, is of, by and for the elites, and nobody else.”

“Biden ran to banish Trumpism from the political system, and he has left Trumpism politically, and now institutionally, the strongest possible political force in this country. It is a complete and utter failure.”

  8. An 11 year blanket pardon for the grift involving the Ccp and Ukraine. Remember the guilty conviction pertained to buying a gun while doing crack and tax matters.

  9. Does Hunter’s pardon mean he cannot plead the 5th when called in front of Congress to testify about the Biden Crime Family (since Hunter can’t be in legal jeopardy)?

  12. Also, any crimes pertain to federal not state. Since he conducted business in Florida (shell company) he could be charged. However, the Florida ag is not as strong as the Missouri ag or Paxton

Important to note the same US attorney (Matthew Graves) who refused to partner with David Weiss to bring tax charges against Hunter Biden is the same US attorney continuing to charge, prosecute, and imprison J6ers to this day. Pardon. Them. All.

Does the Pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the J-6 Hostages, who have now been imprisoned for years? Such an abuse and miscarriage of Justice!

  28. A fairly common theme among Trump cabinet nominees is a belief that the department that person will run has greatly overstepped their bounds and will actively resist the diminishment of their power.

Trump shares this belief, as do the vast majority of those who voted for him. Bitter and Jason make fun of Trump and his voters for this belief.

Conservatives used to believe that the government was too large, powerful and inefficient (Bitter’s guy had a famous line about “I’m from the government and I’m here to help”). Now, riddled with TDS, they’ve become Big Government types. Sad, really.

I will continue to oppose stupid tariffs and trade wars.

I will continue to oppose protectionist and isolationist policies.

I will oppose any “deal” that is bad for Ukraine and good for Russia.

I will oppose any nomination of anyone I view as unqualified. So far, only Gaetz fits that bill.

Outside of that I don’t oppose anything “Trump has promised to do”.

If that makes me an “ostrich”, fine.

Conservatives like me still believe that, and the fact the R party no longer represents that ideal is one reason I am no longer a R.

I believe in limited government. Free markets. Free enterprise. Personal responsibility. Free trade. Meritocracy.

Trump is a crony capitalist that doesn’t believe in any of that.

However, if Elon Musk and Vivek actually DO cut $2 trillion from the government, or even $1 trillion, I will give Trump credit for that. But let’s see it happen first.

“While as a father I certainly understand President @JoeBiden’s natural desire to help his son by pardoning him, I am disappointed that he put his family ahead of the country. This is a bad precedent that could be abused by later Presidents and will sadly tarnish his reputation. When you become President, your role is Pater familias of the nation. Hunter brought the legal trouble he faced on himself, and one can sympathize with his struggles while also acknowledging that no one is above the law, not a President and not a President’s son.”
