Earlier this year I kept posting an updated red shift / blue shift chart. But when Biden dropped out, there was never enough polling data in uncompetitive states to bring the chart back. Here is the final chart, with some surprises, particularly Massachusetts.

That’s an amazing set of statistics, and well done to put it together like that. So basically the entire country moved towards the Republicans this election from 2020…would be interesting to see the same comparison to 2016, though that’s a lot of work.

Florida Republicans have made history by expanding their supermajority in the state legislature, a feat State Rep. Dean Black called “remarkable” and possibly “unprecedented.”
“I think it’s going to be a very exciting session filled with optimism,” Black said on Florida’s Voice Radio.
“We’re very excited to be returning, not just with a supermajority, but an increased supermajority. That is a remarkable thing, because, as you know, it’s really hard to get a supermajority. It’s almost impossible to keep one, but to grow one— that might even be unprecedented.”
I blame Ron DeSantis.

The new Trump transition team is smart and has upped it’s game to avoid prior mistakes made – one being to trust the former “administrative state” too much.
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2024/11/26/trump-transition-team-signs-modified-white-house-agreement-without-govt-technology-to-conduct-surveillance/
”The President Trump transition team has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to start the process of transferring control of the federal government. The landing teams from each of the cabinets will now begin to engage with their exiting counterparts.
There were many articles written about the delays in signing the agreements. However, President Trump waited until he has his cabinet fully assembled before signing the first part that permits the landing teams to engage. The second part with government provided offices and technology is NOT being accepted.
President Trump’s Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles, announced the Trump transition team has refused to sign an MOU with the Government Services Administration (GSA), and will not be using cell phones, computers, offices or “any technology” provided by the GSA. This is a smart move to avoid the Deep State surveillance situation that was faced in the first term.”

Chicon, we needa little bit of both. Sorry, but in places like Maine, or the northest, etc, a moderate republican is the only chance we have at winning. Otherwise we get an ultra liberal dem. Id rather have a Susan Collins who will vote with us 95%+ of the time versus having a liberal who votes 0%.
Sorry, but the alternative is not a winning strategy. Not everyone in the government is going to be a Trump-type. It takes all kinds to win.
In Kentucky, you can get away with primary runs against Mitch. Doesn’t work everywhere. Look at AZ. We lost an incredibly winnable seat because of Lake and instead of having 54 seats, we now have a liberal Dem who will hold the seat for 20 years.

Vic, you’re completely right about Maine, and other areas.
We are now at the point where that is the exception rather than the rule. The country club types have not accepted yet that they are a relatively small minority in the party they used to run. As an alleged Republican, this should worry YOU, not Trump supporters. Recall that your type of Republican has won the popular vote once since 1988. Once.
What coalition do you see winning without Trump on the ballot? Not hope to win or want to win. Actually win. You call others deadenders, but yo are the ultimate Republican purist deadender.

Yep. Either Mitch so wanted another Ciutry Clubber that he ignored the obvious, or he’s at Biden-level dementia. He could have given no money to hopeless Hogan, and instead given it to the WI, MI, or NV candidate. There’s no excuse for that choice.
Given the lack of memory by some here, I should reiterate for the 153rd time that I’m indebted to Mitch for keeping Garland off the Court. That type of clarity has been too infrequent in recent years.

My type of Republican? You mean the type that reveres Reagan AND gave Trump my vote in 3 Presidential elections? Alleged Republican? You’re a joke. I was a conservative Republican in 3 elections and lost because of it. The head of the Radnor Democrats was so impressed with me for running, my public speaking and my personality that he said if I switched parties he could get me elected as a Judge or state Senator. I said no because I could never abandon my conservative principals.
I have always supported a big tent for the GOP. You and the Cult want to burn it down. You are the ultimate elitists – nobody is good enough or pure enough for you except your god, Trump.
Tell me what is conservative about isolationism, retreat from the world, and Democrat trade policies?

appreciate you adding that Chicon. McConnell did a number of good things, but I can not for the life of me wonder why he spent $0 in Nevada or Arizona. Money there could have pushed them over the top. As it was, we came ever so close in MI and WI. With just a bit more we could have been looking at 57 seats.
With that said, Bitter is also right. The Trump wing also can not win on their own, see 2020. It takes a BIG TENT, and each part of it realizing that they won’t get 100% of what they want, but heck, even 80% is better than 0%
We are the NO RETRIBUTION PARTY… especially internally!!

Vic – I respectfully disagree. Lake has now sucked twice as a candidate. You could give her $100 billion as a candidate and she still won’t win. Same for those who lost in WI and Michigan. They came as close as they could and no amount of money or Trump coattails could get them to victory. Always look at the candidates first. Chris Coons is Senator for life in Delaware because the Deadenders embraced a candidate who actually campaigned by saying she was not a witch.

Absolutely right. Who was it that made the tent bigger? Was it the Coutry Clubbers or Trump? Who won the Rust Belt states for Republicans for the first time(s) in a generation?
The Old Republican party has proven for decades that they can’t win a majority of the vote. Yet Trump supporters need to kiss their rings?
They do need each other, and it is past time for old school R’s to get over themselves and realize that they have no chance to win anymore without the unwashed groups Trump has attracted.

McConnell and fossils like him will hopefully be replaced in the not-too-distant-future, with a person who talks the talk, and then actually works for a more limited government, as opposed to what we got the last 60 years. Trump is putting people in place to do that, hopefully, and also to shine a light on all of the coercive actions our government has taken against its citizens, in the hope that we will not allow them to do it again.

Kamala’s donors are not happy about her spending and general management of “their” money. Just think what she could have done with the people’s money if she was POTUS.
The Vigilant Fox
@VigilantFox
HOLY SMOKES: Democrat mega-donor John Morgan says Kamala Harris’s political future is OVER after she completely botched her campaign. “If you can’t run a campaign, you can’t run a country.” When Chris Cuomo asked him if someone stole the donation money, Morgan replied, “Well, maybe legally.” The Kamala Harris campaign spent money so recklessly that it wasted money on presidential ads in places like Florida. “She had all this money coming in. She had all these consultants, and if you don’t run the ads, you don’t get paid for the buy. They were running ads in Florida, where I live, nonstop. And I’m like, why? I mean, are they running in Alabama and Idaho, too? And I’ll tell you why. If you don’t run the ads, the buyer doesn’t get paid,” Morgan explained. “I told everybody, she should not have been the nominee. She was not going to win, and she didn’t win, and she lost badly…. So she’s having a call with donors this week, and they tell me about her political future. I don’t think she has a political future. So that’s my thought on her.”
