Can we discuss people making accusations without proof once again?
VictrC, will you officiate this one?
ALL of the posters here complained about the Democrat use of lawfare, not just janz.
Some of us are OK with shining a light on ALL of the actions taken in the past 4-8 years by those in government positions, and if it is shown that illegal actions were taken by those serving in the government position, all options of punishment (firing, demotion, fines, and/or jail) should be readily available, depending on the crime committed.
That is not hypocritical. It is following the law.
And a person like Gaetz, who has had to deal with FALSE CLAIMS BY THE GOVERNMENT, will probably be best able to determine which course to take.
Similar to many other picks, like Gabbard, RFK and Hegseth, who have been unfairly smeared by those in power, and hopefully now they will be able to expose that wrongdoing.
Meanwhile, I have no worries that Trump’s economic agenda will be full-speed-ahead……after all, with all of those “conservatives” like Thune, Cornyn and Mitch leading in the Senate, along with control of the House……..
Expose everything! The American people will enjoy seeing the corruption and debauchery of the DC elite on full display, while Trump, hopefully this time with a reliable Congress, will be pushing the same pro-growth policies he pushed in his first term.

Weird and eccentric Jack Pott won a lottery jackpot, His equally weird girl friend, Katie Kettle, wanted him to spend some of that money to clothe all the wild animals. Jack though about calling her a crack pot, but that would be like the Pott calling the Kettle black. Pott did use some of his money to buy some weed (pot). Pott became hooked on pot. Decided to move to South American and buy a big spread where he would operate a putt-putt mini golf course and grow pot. He called it “Potts’ Putt-Putt and Pot Plot.”
Cannibals caught him and put Pott in a big pot. As the flames grew bigger, a young cannibal grabbed a stick and stirred the hot Pott pot. Older cannibal chastised him and said “Quit stirring the Pott.” So the young cannibal dropped the stick and sat down to watch the Pott pot. Older cannibal said, “A watched Pott never boils.”
Or maybe he said a watched pot never boil? Or maybe said a watched Pott pot never boils?
“There’s not a lot of daylight between Cochrane’s reviews of these two drugs. But there’s a massive canyon between their respective prices. Remdesivir, which the federal government spent $162 million by the end of 2020 to help develop, cost $3,120 “for a typical treatment course” for those with private health insurance by mid-2020. Hydroxychloroquine, in comparison, generally costs less than $1 per tablet.”
This is an example of the the type of “profits” which I spoke against, the kind that are loved by jason and Bitterlaw. The FDA, aka the Government, said hospitals could not use the $1 pill……if you like that type of government relationship with Big Pharma, please don’t say you are a conservative.
I think terms and terminology can be conveniently manipulated to excuse a course of action a party ideologue wants to legitimately hide beside. Democracy, for instance, by the left is interpreted differently – “don’t protest or criticize our governance or you will be labeled in a pejorative fashion.” For Republicans the term democracy is more free-wheeling, where it’s the people themselves who are free to chose, including disagreeing or making changes to create a new type of governance.
Crimes fall into a similar category of how individuals can decipher the legality of an act or action differently. When statute of limitations are suddenly changed in order to belatedly charge someone, or when misdemeanors are arbitrarily elevated to felonies, a case of criminality can be manufactured by the opposition. That’s what happened, much too often, under the Trump presidency, and again when he was running for the 2024 presidency. These examples of creating criminal charges to benefit one party’s political advantage, IMO, should be addressed not because of exacting “retribution,” but for clarifying how a fair playing field should be conducted. Restoring a just environment for all people to live in and compete stabilizes a freedom-based democratic republic like we have, which also positively effects other facets people voted for like a better economy and a safe border.

As I said before, there is no difference between right wing nuts and left wing nuts.
The Putin toadies always consider it an “escalation” when Ukraine defends itself against the invaders.
Russians slaughtering innocent Ukrainian civilians and bombing residential areas, hospitals and schools and committing endless war crimes is never an “escalation”.
If allowing Ukraine to attack Russia’s military infrastructure such as the one that wiped out a huge arms depot is an “escalation” let’s please have a lot more “escalation”.
For almost 3 years, Putin has been firing hundreds of missiles, tens or hundreds of thousands of artillery shells, tank shells, and rockets and bombs from aircraft deep into Ukraine. In addition to military targets, Putin has targeted hospitals, schools, residential areas, and train stations. Silence from certain members of HHR. Ukraine blows up an ammunition dump in Russia and is immediately accused of escalating the conflict.
Again, we are not the world’s policemen. Russia had a longstanding claim to the part of Ukraine where the overwhelming majority of the people there are Russian. There was and is NO American interest at risk.
The Biden sycophants have hard time admitting that The Hero of Ukraine and Saint of The Ostriches, Joe Biden, has mishandled the Ukraine war from beginning to end.
He should’ve taken steps to prevent the war from starting. Once the war started, there should’ve been no restrictions on weapons.
interesting that since the election there has been an increase in the chatter around the evil industry and evil surgeons who are sterilizing gullible children on the lie they can be changed into the other gender. This could have been a much larger campaign issue. Every Democrat should have had to answer if they were in favor of this evil
Yup, dangerous times with no CIC. Deep state is running the show and hey are escalating rapidly in Ukraine. Massie has held up $4.5 billion to the grifter, however.
That is further evidence as to why we need picks to the cabinet that will shake things up.
The Maine Chicklet is popping off. She had no issues appointing Bacera to his position, even though he had no expertise. And advice and consent does not mean what she says it means, Rino pos.
I1. Russia is far less of a threat to the US than was the Soviet Union in the 80’s.
I don’t disagree, obviously the USSR was a bigger threat. The problem is that Putin thinks the dissolution of the USSR was the greatest tragedy of all times and by a combination of political, military and economic influence he is trying to achieve a Greater Russia. Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Chechnya, Transnsitria, etc. are all examples of this.
2. Russia remains an existential threat to major American and European cities.
Yes.
3. Russia is not a threat TO SUCCEED in an old school war to conquer sections of Europe.
Not yet. Not now. But that is Putin’s ambition.
4. Vlad might THINK they are a threat to succeed in #3.
Not so sure. His problems on the battlefield in Ukraine might have convinced him of this and that is why he wants to keep reminding us “I have nukes”.
Jason sez….The fight to confirm Gaetz will be a huge and unnecessary distraction even if he finally prevails.”
I tend to agree (apologies). I do think nominating Matty G., is viewed by Trump as an indication of how important he views the problems at DOJ & FBI. He is trying to scare the crap out of them, and given the reports of many of them getting lawyers, he’s succeeding.
Peggy Noonan delivers some bad news to Morning Joe and Mika..
PEGGY NOONAN: The Democratic Party was seen as three things, it seems to me. One, it was the party of the little guy. It was the party of “the nobody.” It was the party that was going to take care of people who were not protected in America.
Two, it was the party of generous spending. You know, they weren’t too tight with the purse strings. They thought, spend the money, we’ll make it up at the end.
Three, they were the anti-war party — by the 60s and 70s.
Joe, it seems to me they have ceded that territory to the current Republican Party, to the Trumpian Party. The Trumpian Party, Republican Party says we are the party of the little guy. We are the party of generous spending. You think you guys can spend, hold my beer. Yeah we are the anti-war party.
So Mika, if the Democratic Party was resting on these three pillars — little guy, anti-war, generous spending — and that’s all gone, and they seem now the party of an academic administrator of Brown University, not the little guy, and they seem more activist in the world, and they are only as big spending as the Republicans.
They’ve lost their pillars. That means they either have to rebuild those pillars or find new pillars.”
I had had some long fights with Amoral Scumbag about this.
He hated the fact I referred to 2014 as the dead cat bounce of the old R party. He was convinced that the old suburban country club Rs + Rural vote coalition would make a comeback and rid the world of Trumpism.
I made the case that although it did not reflect MY values, the only way the R party was going to survive was to become a populist leaning “working class” party that appealed to blue collar and minorities of all classes, including the urban vote.
Trump’s R party is not conservative, it is not Reagan’s party. It is not based on any conservative principles or vision. It is a populist movement with little ideology. But it won.
I can deal with it, I just am not part of it. Amoral Scumbag could not deal with it.
Jason, I think Putin’s adventure in Ukraine will make tougher to get into position to really be a threat to take part of Europe. The additions to NATO limit his ability to pick off countries.
Hopefully, Vlad realizes his limitations and takes the off-ramp Trump gives him (that I acknowledge many won’t like).
“They’ve lost their pillars. That means they either have to rebuild those pillars or find new pillars.”
Oh they have already found their new pillars.
Democratic Party 2024:
ONE: The party that demands unfettered access for mothers to kill their babies up to and including the moment the babies are born.
TWO: The party that tricks little boys into getting their private parts lopped off, sterilizing them forever, and putting them on a pathway to suicide.
THREE: The party that wants violent gangs of illegals to enter our land and commit heinous acts of violence and murders, and then subject the survivors to drug abuse.
The Dem party thinks abortion, transgenderism, and open borders are winning issues.
Before we rejoice that they were wrong, they did get 49% of the vote.
That moron Chris Hayes on MSNBC did say something I agreed on. He said we are divided nation and Rs only moved about 3% of the vote from 2020, that this is enough to completely swing the Presidency and Congress.
That is true. Personally, I think it is horrific that Kamala with her platform got 49% of the vote, it does not bode well for the future.
I hope Musk and other influential people on the right understand that we need to “de-Marx” our educational system.
Is there any particular reason to assume Biden is competent to be president right now? It’s a very difficult job. It’s a dangerous world. Extremely high-stakes decisions in Ukraine. He should resign and let Harris serve out the last 2 months.”
Hey, Silverhack, why do you think Kamala is competent?
I was going to follow-up my post and start by saying but “they did get 49% of the vote.”
Actually, it was 48.3, but jason’s concerns are mine, and its spot on.
I am glad Trump won, but there is little joy in this victory, because what should have been a 49 state sweep like 1984 ended up way too close. Terrifying that a modern party could run on killing babies, sterilizing children, and open borders for violent gangs and drugs, and they still got 48.3% of the vote.
Actually, jason is right at 49%, because Stein, West, and Oliver were even further left of Harris if that is possible to imagine.
Unless a lot of work is done the next four years, the three pillars of killing babies, sterilizing children, and open borders will win the next election.
Denver Mayor promises to use force against efforts to deport illegals.
The Democrat Mayor of Denver, Colorado Mike Johnston has challenged Trump to try to deport any illegal migrants from his city, saying he would deploy the Denver City Police and volunteers from the local community to use force against federal forces trying to deport illegals. “More than us having DPD stationed at the county line to keep them out, you would have 50,000 Denverites there. It’s like the Tiananmen Square moment with the rose and the gun… You’d have every one of those Highland moms who came out for the migrants. You don’t want to mess with them.
33The number of Illinois’ 102 counties where voters have passed non-binding resolutions backing the idea of forming a new state with every Illinois county except Cook, home to Chicago and more than 40 percent of the state’s population. It’s part of a burgeoning breakup movement gaining momentum across states where vast swaths of red, rural counties are dominated by a few blue cities.
Walt, the same movement, to separate conservative rural counties from the liberal coastal ones, is very active in CA as well. Every election the slim strip of blue along our long coastline rules the governance of what used to be a conservatively-led state.
So the nutjob Denver mayor is vowing to sic the Denver Police Dept on immigration officials. Good luck with that bud. I’m sure the rank in file Denver police officers are just chomping at the bit to fight it out with the feds to defend “migrants”. He’s going to set up check points? LMAO!!!! Yep. Florida and Texas should just send all their illegals to Denver and let the good mayor protect them. I’m sure the gang members and criminals will be delighted to flock to a city like Denver where they have such an enlightened mayor to stand up for them. You couldn’t make this up in a million years. LOL
I always said it was a 48%-48% country (like Captain Obvious) but I also said inch by inch or .25% movement by .25% movement ‘started to add up’ by just looking at the ‘canaries dying in Harris’ coalmine’.
Prediction…..it is going to stay a 48%-48% country in 2026 and especially in 2028. Trump could end the two wars, have 0% inflation or better yet, deflation, and build an insurmountable border wall and 48% still would not approve.
i79. It will be interesting to see what happens in 2032 when the electoral college shifts by 10-12 to the Republican side. An R candidate will be able to get to 270 without the rust belt…but, will we be able to hang on to gains made with Hispanics in AZ and NV.
CNN finally called the Alaska House race, long after the NY Times called it. Reminds me of 2016, when Hillary had conceded, and Trump was in the middle of his victory speech, CNN interrupted it, to announce that THEY had now determined that Trump was the winner.
AOC says all WOMEN are endangered when Men are required to use Mens restrooms.
I guess that would be the same logic as saying all women athletes are endangered when men are NOT allowed to play against them and beat them to a pulp.
DE: I like it. Now find a way to separate Detroit from the rest of Michigan. Across the Detroit River is Windsor, Ontario. A merger there would give Canada the new city of DeWindsor. And a lot more crime, corruption and blight. (The Detroit Lions are to remain behind until their next losing season.)
91. that was quicker than I thought. I imagined it would have been at least early Feb before he bailed. Good now he can place his real pick. To be honest, he should try a woman. Someone with a law and order background
Prediction…..it is going to stay a 48%-48% country in 2026 and especially in 2028. Trump could end the two wars, have 0% inflation or better yet, deflation, and build an insurmountable border wall and 48% still would not approve.”
Conversely Kamala could have given citizenship to 20 million illegals, spent trillions on the climate change rathole, raised taxes, ruined women’s sports, enshrined late term abortion and child mutilation, etc. and the Dems would probably still get 48% in 2028.
T”here just wasn’t a plausible path for Gaetz to become a recess appointment, and whatever one thinks about his baggage, it was weighing him down to the point where a confirmation became increasingly in doubt. Practically speaking, the Trump transition team had to make a move, and that move was made.
With all that said, Trump will likely come out a winner in the end. Gaetz stepping aside has no doubt bought some goodwill with some wishy-washy GOP senators, and that will be needed to get some of these other nominees through. If you want Robert F. Kenndy Jr. to become head of Health and Human Services, that’s more possible now.
Further, Trump needs a clean fight over his nominees. There’s simply no time to waste on a drawn-out, scandal-ridden nomination process. I’m not arguing that is fair, but fairness really has nothing to do with this situation. Politics is the art of the possible, and with Democrats likely to retake the House in two years, the time to strike is now. That means getting people in place as quickly as possible who have the know-how to truly reform these various agencies”
I agree with this. The Senate has sent a message it won’t be pushed around. But now that it sent the message, it will probably be easier to approve the other nominees.
Bunchie is an idiot. Goodwill is laughable. They continue to go after Peter Hagseth even though there is a police report saying no evidence of a sexual assault. exists.
Prominent Democrat John Fetterman, a vocal critic of his party’s election strategy, has endorsed a handful of Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees.
The outspoken Pennsylvania Senator has said he supports Elise Stefanik as UN Ambassador, Marco Rubio as Secretary of State and said he would vote for TV personality Dr Mehmet Oz to run the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).”
Score another victory for gun rights! The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled against a legal challenge against the state’s firearm preemption laws that prohibit local governments from further infringing on the right to keep and bear arms”

“Claims” means what exactly. Ukraine’s borders were internationally recognized.
Should Mexico get Texas and California back because there are a lot of Hispanics there?
And if Russia is only interested in the Donbass, why is it invading other parts of Ukraine and bombing Kiev?

Wrong. Containing Putin’s ambition of a new USSR or “greater Russia” as he puts it IS in our interest.
Stopping Russia in Ukraine now will be a lot cheaper than stopping their further expansion later.

Here is my proposal, to keep the 50 state count and 100 senators:
Merge the following into ONE state: MA, CT, and RI, blending their names together in the new state called “Massecticut Island”
Merge MD and DE into “Maryware”
Merge NH, VT, and ME into “New Vermaine”
This frees up the addition of FIVE new states:
EW: East Washington, which is everything east of the coastal cities which will be known as West Washington (WW)
EO: East Oregon, which is everything east of the coastal cities which will be known as WO, West Oregon.
NC: North California
CC: Central California (excludes coastal bay cities)
DC: Desert California Everything east of LA
This realignment would flip TEN Senators from blue to red.
