My nomination is the acceptance of conspiracy blogs like Gateway Pundit and ZeroHedge.
I thought about nominating Trump but the difficulty there is that there are 2 factors – Trump’s policies (other than tariffs and isolationism) are generally good. The Cult is determined to protect Trump at all costs.

Her final Iowa poll was Harris+3 and she tried to justify it. The final result was Trump+13 – an error of 16 points.
The Selzer poll was previously the “gold standard” of polling.

Seltzer threw away a fantastic legacy because at the last moment she decided she could swing an election against Trump.

But in the end nobody else, not even in IA, cared what her prediction for IA was.
I guess the theory was if you were a swing voter in PA thinking about voting for Trump, and a pollster said Kamala was going to win IA, you would now switch your vote to her?

It is true that R party base is now isolationist and protectionist. That is the main reason I left the party. I believe that as the only true superpower, the US does have a role as the world’s policeman, and that the results benefit us in a way that far exceeds the costs of doing so. I also believe in free trade, free markets, personal responsibility, free enterprise and limited government. None of these things characterize the current R party, certainly not Trump or Vance, so it is no longer my party. So be it. Nothing is forever.
But it is also true that I have long said that if the R party wanted to stay relevant, it needed to become a populist working class party that appealed to different demographics, it could no longer rely on a coalition of white suburban + rural voters to counter the Dems’s strength with urban, blue collar and minorities. And that is what is happening, the party IS becoming a “working class” party and it is appealing to more minorities. This is a good thing even if I disagree with the message that allows it to happen.

Bitter, I never said that people who disagree with me or others or who have differing opinions are bullies.
As steward of the second edition of HHR, you have the right to treat people as you see fit. However, whether or not they dont mind, some people believe when a poster refers to women who post on this site (Tina and Jan) as Putin’s beotches” or other such unnecessary names, especially when no one has even brought up anything remotely related to Russia or Putin is nothing but bullying.
And Jason’s behavior speaks for himself. It is one thing when he goes after me but Retlaw is one of the few posters (and there are others) who posts and participates in “intelligent discourse” it shows his lack of judgement and self-control. He is like the spoiled brat in the family, everyone has to ignore because the parents wont shut down their nasty behavior.
As an attorney, I would expect you to have the sense to know the difference between calling out bullies based on behavior rather than on differing opinions. I guess you and Kamala got your JD degrees from the same law school.

I checked in briefly and scrolled thru the posts. Most were the same old, same old repetitious barbs and jabs that Jason relishes. The post about MSNBC viewership dropping dramatically, though, was interesting. I know Jack Posobiac chides about forming a partnership to buy it out, turning it into a more conservative newscast. I thought he was only being sarcastic, but there may actually be some truth into what he is saying.
A note to oahodges — what you write has a lot of merit. However, the Jason/Bitter echo chamber is too self-satisfying for each of them to change any of their rhetoric.

Yes, but Selzer had an A+ pollster reputation based on historic accuracy. People that say it is just a “random” bad poll ignore the reality of statistics.
I happen to have just posted the data in this poll analysis over at RRH:
For Harris, her final result of 42.7% is only 0.66% probable based on the Selzer poll, assuming it was random error. Trump’s result of 56.0% is an unbelievable probability of 1/400 billion based on random error. So her poll was off for one of two reasons, it was total shite and she is no longer a “Gold standard” pollster, or she had her thumb on the scale to try and influence the election. But it is NOT due to random error.
