Which battleground state polling was the best?

No surprise AtlasIntel was again #1, and is now clearly the GOLD standard of polling. But AtlasIntel is not alone in the collection of pollsters that kept their average miss below 2.0, well within the margin of error. In fact, there are nine who met this standard and should be considered the go-to pollsters in the future.

Near the bottom of the list of the worst pollsters include all the usual suspects like CNN, Quinnipiac, NY Times/Siena, Marist, and FoxNews. The new pollsters with the names everyone made fun of, The Bullfinch Group and FocalData lived up to their faked names. And Charlie Cook’s first venture into polling also spectacularly failed.

Morning Consult and Redfield & Wilton shifted Trump in the last release to avoid a bad score.

Gallego is about 40k votes ahead but the margin is now only 0.5%.

Trump is now an astounding 6 points ahead (another polling error), I would certainly have bet he would pull Lake through with that margin.

But she is trailing him by an also astounding 6.5 pts.

A lot of ticket splitters who don’t like her. Or that didn’t vote in the senate race.

    From The Washington Examiner:

  42. From the WSJ —-> an excerpt from Trump’s plan to resolve the Russia/Ukraine war:

[…] “One idea proposed inside Trump’s transition office, detailed by three people close to the president-elect and not previously reported, would involve Kyiv promising not to join NATO for at least 20 years. In exchange, the U.S. would continue to pump Ukraine full of weapons to deter a future Russian attack.

Under that plan, the front line would essentially lock in place and both sides would agree to an 800-mile demilitarized zone. Who would police that territory remains unclear, but one adviser said the peacekeeping force wouldn’t involve American troops, nor come from a U.S.-funded international body, such as the United Nations.

“We can do training and other support but the barrel of the gun is going to be European,” a member of Trump’s team said. “We are not sending American men and women to uphold peace in Ukraine. And we are not paying for it. Get the Poles, Germans, British and French to do it.” (link)

I have a separate part of the excel sheet not shown here that simply has a positive number for each state polled that represents the miss in either direction for each state. I then simply average the miss for each state the pollster polled, and display the average miss.

So for OnMessage, they missed AZ at 2.9, NV at 0.5, GA at 0.8, WI at 0.2, MI at 1.4, and PA at 0.1. Average these misses, and the average miss is 0.98.

Of course this is the preliminary chart. The final chart will be slightly different because they are still counting votes.

As Jan. 6 defendants anticipate pardons from President-elect Donald Trump, there are indications that the FBI is winding down any further investigations of the attack on the Capitol in 2021.  According to sources at the FBI, Jan. 6 cases still being investigated “are dead.” “They’re not going anywhere. They’re dead. They’re going to be closed, because they still have some in the pipeline,” an FBI source said. “Basically, right now, everyone [is asking], ’Why the hell are you prosecuting?” another Bureau source said. “They’re all going to be pardoned anyway, so it’s an informal shutdown.”

        That would be Justice served.

      11. So far, the PLUSES of Trump winning the election:

        1. stock market goes up biggly

        2. migrant caravan in Mexico heading toward U.S. has shrunken considerably

        3. the country has breathed a collective sigh of relief and the hateful talk has subsided. I don’t think I have heard anyone on TV call Trump “Hitler” in 2 days now. Maybe we are heading back to Americans being more civil…

        ADDED:

        4. all the lawfare court trials against Trump are being tossed out (reduced cost of government…)

        5. Kamala and Biden are no longer calling Trump “Hitler” and the “biggest threat to democracy” since Attila the Hun, and I have not heard Trump call Kamala and Biden bad names since the election–so at least THEY are now toning down the volume of the hate speech and being more civil.

        NOT NECESSARILY!

Biden wants to create a LEGACY in his final weeks. I think he might appoint the first TRANSGENDER to the SCOTUS.

–maybe that old guy from PA in his administration (something about health?) who dresses as and thinks he is a woman and has long hair–maybe he/she/it will get appointed to SCOTUS

–or if not him/her/it, the I think he will pick lesbian wh press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre (KJP) I am not sure she is an American Citizen, but I am not sure that would disqualify her from serving on there SCOTUS,

Or maybe Joe Biden will appoint Kamala to the SCOTUS to replace Sotomeyor.

Or what about appointing Beau Biden to be on the SCOTUS?

      17. South Carolina MONKEY ESCAPE UPDATE

“The report found that the first eight months of 2022, six monkeys were placed in wrong enclosures – one animal was found dead from “trauma caused by the resident animals in the enclosure,” and four animals required subsequent veterinary care.

WTOC also reported that in that same time period, there were six separate occasions that monkeys escaped their enclosure. After those escapes, the company repaired the chain link and got rid of some of the cages that were breached, the station report.

Alpha Genesis was most recently inspected by the USDA in May 2024, and did not receive any violations. That report shows that at the time of the inspection, there were at least 6,701 monkeys on the property, WTOC reported.

Supporting Trump went from being smeared as a racist nine years ago to cool and rebellious today, a finger in the eye to the uptight, humorless squares and fascists and scolds like Joy Behar and Jake Tapper. People like RFK Jr. and Tulsi paved the way and now the social stigma is gone and the Justine Batemans and Michael Rappaports and Megyn Kellys and Chris Cuomos are being liberated. Never seen anything like it.

      23. Election time bomb threats that were called in:

The FBI said in an emailed statement Tuesday that “many” of the threats “appear to originate from Russian email domains.” Some additional threats appeared to have been sent from a French service, a U.S. official briefed on the matter told NBC News. Anyone with unrestricted internet access can sign up for email services in other countries, making it difficult to deduce who actually sent the threats.”
