Has anyone noticed that in California, that as the votes keep trickling in (its only 60% in according to CNN), that Harris has won the state by ONLY 17.2? Biden won it in 2020 by over 29!

Hi DW
great analysis on the other page, and I am so glad you looked at the house races.
I went over them one by one last night and looked at the outstanding vote in each district and where it came in. I got 225-210, but I could be off as well…I think 2 seat margin of error is ok!!! There were a couple of really close races I wish we had flipped (MD), but a 15 seat majority, or 13 seat, is going to be necessary to negate some of the crazies like the Gaetz-like nutjobs of the party who believe 100% compliance with their views or you’re an enemy.
Regarding the “13M votes”, after crunching numbers last night, it will most likely be about 7M-8M short of Biden when the counting is done. She will end up in the 73-74M vote range (could be as low as 72M, but I doubt it). So yes, where did those 8M go because Trump will exceed his vote total from 2020.

Voting results in my COUNTY in WV:
50,000 votes cast
52% turnout (only 17% turnout in May primary, and lowest turnout in the state)
**********************
Results in the TWO precincts where I worked:
2350 registered voters in ONE precinct, not sure of how many in the smaller precinct.
about 700 votes cast in the TWO precincts
**********
Approx. voting breakdown by age:
65 and Over–20% of voters
50-65–25%
35-50–35%
18-35–20%, including about 20 first time, new voters
_______________________________
breakdown of the @ 700 voters in the TWO precinct: (and turnout was a lot lower than the 52% turnout in the county)
–More younger people turned out than I expected
–about 15% AA
–about 20% Hispanic/Puerto Rican, West Indies islands, etc. (a fair number who spoke broken English or very little)
–about 8 Chinese/oriental most who spoke no English
Awful lot of people with mobility issues using canes, walkers, crutches, wheel chairs, etc
–about 10 voters were clearly somewhere on the worst end of the spectrum and seemed to have cognitive issues
–about 10 provisional ballots (not registered in WV, just moved here from CA, not voted in 15 years, etc. The PROVISIONAL voters ballots are not signed by the poll clerks when they give them the ballot and the voter is supposed to come back and give THEM their ballot to be put in envelope. They are not supposed to take their completed ballot to run into the vote tabulator machine. One slipped by and their PROVISIONAL ballot inadvertently got run through the vote tabulator with other votes.
About 5 spoiled ballots that could not be read by the vote tabulator. New ballot had to be issued. One spoiled ballots was almost torn in half by the 4 year old daughter of the mother who brought the girl with her to vote. It JAMMED the tabulator machine and caused big backup for about 10 minutes until they came and fixed it.
One early voter–big guy about 240 pounds full beard, about 28-30 yrs old, wearing a shirt he had bought that had TRUMP in HUGE letters on it, informed he could not wear that in the polling place as it was considered electioneering and a violation of voting code. He went ballistic, yells F this, F that, blah blah blah…
I start to call “authorities” to come deal with this. Older woman right in front of him in line turns and yells at him to “STOP THAT! and that language. I am a Christian and it is offensive.” Woman loudly says to her husband “Maybe we ought to change who we are planning to vote for.” Guy settles down. Takes his shirt off, puts it back on inside out. and finishes processing and voting. He actually quietly apologized to the woman who chastised him as he left–but no apology given to us poll workers.
I earned my $300 for my 15 hours and 25 minute day.

Sure, they are free to reproduce whenever they want. And there is this wonderful thing called biology. And in biology it is scientifically shown that if you do X, there is a good chance that conception will happen, resulting in reproduction. And so if you want to do X without conception and reproduction happening, then there are easy steps to take to do so, short of killing babies.

He had a better percentage in 48 states than in 2020 from what I see. So I would put that more on Kamala/Walz than on Vance.
But even though I don’t like Vance’s policies, I am not trying to discredit him. He rose to the occasion, didn’t let the MSM get the best of him, worked his ass off, and did well in the debate. While I don’t think he got Trump any extra votes, I don’t think he hurt him either, which is the cardinal rule for VPs. You cannot underestimate how huge this win for Trump and GOP senate is. Another 4 years of Dems filling the federal bench and you would wipe out Trump’s first term gains on these courts.

“Harris failed to carry the county that was home to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, her vice presidential running mate, for 20 years.
Before being elected governor, Walz lived in Mankato, which is in Blue Earth County. Trump defeated Harris there 49.6% to 48.3%.

Thursday morning Casey’s campaign released a statement saying the following:
“The count in Pennsylvania is still continuing. Yesterday, the vote margin shrunk by 50,000 votes and this race is now within half a point, the threshold for automatic recounts in Pennsylvania. With tens of thousands more votes to be counted, we are committed to ensuring every Pennsylvanian’s vote is heard and confident that at the end of that process, Senator Casey will be re-elected.”
Thursday afternoon McCormick’s campaign in a statement seeming to claim victory in the race:
“McCormick is up 30,679 votes with more to come, as ruby red Cambria County is still outstanding. While votes continue to be counted, any way you slice it, Dave McCormick will be the next United States Senator from Pennsylvania,”
Pennsylvania’s Secretary of State must order a recount by 5:00 p.m. on November 14. The recount would have to be completed by November 26.
McCormick (R) has a nearly 30,000-vote lead, which decreased overnight from roughly 31,000 Wednesday night. Many of the ballots came in from democratic strongholds like Philadelphia and its suburbs.
Thursday though, most ballots have been counted with outstanding ballots largely remaining in Cambria County where McCormick holds a roughly 24-point lead in the vote.
Cambria County faced issues on election day that saw a court-ordered extension of voting from 8 to 10 p.m. on election night. Any ballots cast past 8 p.m. were counted as provisional votes, which need to be verified by election officials before being counted.”

Abortion was definitely a good issue for Dems, that was not my point.
But Bitter said most of the ads in his area by all candidates wer about abortion in an expensive media market like Philadelphia. The Dems spend half a billion dollars on abortion ads nationwide.
Given that the data shows suburban women went for Trump by a small margin and that Trump improved his vote in Philly and surrounding counties it seems like the Dems overspent on that issue.
This is borne out even in states where abortion was on the ballot… even where approved, many people voted pro abortion rights AND for Trump.
My point was never that abortion is a motivating force for Dems and some independents and R women, the question is how many votes do you get from the issue that you would not get otherwise. I have argued that the percentage of people who ONLY vote on abortion is very small and already vote Dem anyway.
Bitter said well maybe it motivates people who would otherwise not vote at all. No way to know if that is the case, but it certainly didn’t decide the election.

Ousting Bob Casey was a great accomplishment.
Casey just got a little too comfortable thinking he could never lose and thus could just keep voting with the far left in the Senate without any pushback, including late term abortions when he used to call himself pro-life.

Can someone explain to me why it takes Arizona this long to count ballots? This is ridiculous. I hope Trump pushes for some kind of election reform. No way Florida can count all their ballots in a day, but Arizona can’t.

there’s absolutely no reason. Whatever Florida does should be mandated in each and every atate
the problem is allowing votes to come in days and weeks later like Arizona, Nevada and California

-If picks any former military, should be people who actually had been in combat.

Maybe Roberts would like to retire as well…..

Dems are now putting their hopes in getting the Senate back in two years
“Ossoff probably wins. Conceivable we win NC in two years against Tillis. Conceivable Tester runs in two years and wins in MT. Conceivable the ranked choice AK vote elects a Dem. So there’s four seats. If Rosen and Gallego hang on, it’s 53-47, and there’s your Dem Senate in two years.”

The problem with Thomas is he wants to be the longest serving Judge ever, and doesn’t get that until year 3 of the Trump administration and who knows if we hold the Senate in 26

I think it would be foolish to not have military people as part of the national security team.

Trump should hire Colonel or lower rank, preferably one passed over due to bad behavior or bad attitude, but who stayed in military for life despite not getting the promotions.
