As the election results are hopefully becoming final, HHR will probably follow its usual pattern. There will be fewer threads unless events dictate them. Your continued participation is appreciated. GFY
This cycle, 2024, marked the first ED I spent solely on HHR. No Fox, no CNN, no CBS, etc. I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed seeing things unfold and being updated by better informed and saner individuals than what tv has to offer.
IT WAS THE ECONOMY STUPID: The elites who occupy the chairs in the mainstream media had no idea how much families were paying for butter. Joe thought butter was $3 and was shocked to learn it is actually $7. pic.twitter.com/nuqU4vGO5I
so Politico says we are not ready for a woman president. NO, I am not ready for any dingbat president. But I would consider a more conservative version of Margaret Thatcher.
“Later during his opening segment, Kimmel got emotional as he listed off everyone who was impacted by the “terrible night last night.”
“It was a terrible night for women, for children, for the hundreds of thousands of hard-working immigrants who make this country go,” he said, trying to hold back tears. “For health care, for our climate, for scientists, for journalists, for justice, for free speech. It was a terrible night for poor people, for the middle class, for seniors who rely on Social Security, for our allies in Ukraine, for NATO and democracy and decency. It was a terrible night for everyone who voted against him and guess what? It was a bad night for everyone who voted for him too, you just don’t realize it yet.”
Kimmel then noted everyone it was a “really good night for,” including [Vladimir] Putin, Polio and “lovable billionaires like Elon Musk and the bros up in Silicon Valley and all the wriggling brain worms who sold what was left of their souls to bow down to Donald Trump.”
Donald Trump has no greater friend than the far left, which has managed to alienate historic numbers of Latinos, Blacks, Asians, and Jews from the Democratic Party with absurdities like “Defund the Police” or “From the River to the Sea” or “Latinx.”
There is more to lose than there is to gain politically from pandering to a far left that is more representative of Twitter, Twitch, and TikTok than it is of the real world. The working class is not buying the ivory-towered nonsense that the far left is selling.
And yet that Politico headline is exactly what made that panel of black women angry. They were upset because they wanted a QUALIFIED woman to be the president. They knew that putting in an unqualified person just because she was a woman would set back feminism, not advance it.
The party was defeated who is for slaughtering as many children as possible before they are born, and then is eager to trick little boys into thinking they can be made into girls so they can be rushed in and have their penises and testicles lopped off, turning them into freaks and putting them on a path toward suicide…and with THIS party defeated on election night he says it was a terrible night for children?
AXIOS: Donald J. Trump has vanquished the Bushes, the Clintons, the Bidens, the Obamas — and the entire establishment of both parties. “Trump is stronger than ever, backed by a party wholly remade in his image and opposed by demoralized and defeated Democrats.”
I started a list of “a thousand cuts” that led to the Harris defeat. They are too numerous to list here, but looking them over I realized they could be categorized as either “self-inflicted” or “external “. Among the self-inflicted: word salads, interview refusals, McDonalds, more word salad, vp pick, cackle, “Nothing comes to mind”, more cackle, etc………
External: open border, Aurora apartment takeovers by illegals, Gwen Walz, NYT non-endorsement, Joe Biden, Lakan Riley, WaPo non-endorsement, Bill Clinton, Mideast Policy that pissed off both sides, etc, etc………….
In the end, the Dems put forth a terrible candidate who couldn’t get past the first cut of a national primary. So a big thanks to the behind the scenes cabal of Pelosi, Schumer and Obama et al…………
I dont think we should underestimate the power of the lack of newspaper endorsements in this election. It was almost as if those who were worried about not voting for her were given a lifeline. “well, if they aren’t endorsing her, then I guess Im free to do what I want”
As well, the fact that Elon bought X was a HUGE factor in Trump getting elected. It allowed a platform that couldn’t be censored for real news, and real information to be released.
Want to know what direction the dem party will go…
“Donald Trump’s existential threat to US and global democracy raises the question of what the Democratic party was prepared to invest to avoid such an outcome. Judging by Kamala Harris’s campaign, the answer, it seems, was not very much. No Medicare for All, no green new deal, no mass provision of social housing (or just advocating rent caps).”
And overall x was neutral. Separately kudos to the atlas intel polling firm. They were the ones I used along with ras and democracy institute/patrick basham.
“The first big visit he had when tacking office was from Russians for a private meeting in the White House. The next few agenda items then was to try to convince his new AG to arrest Clinton. He also tried to ban Muslims from entering the country. He had his previous “fixer” put back in solitary at prison after he was legally released because he wouldn’t sign an illegal NDA. He sent an organized prepared mob in 2020 to attack Congress. After watching and enjoying it on tv for a few hours taking no action to stop it, he eventually offered up a milk toast request for it to stop after it looking like the Capitol Police were going to get re-enforcements.
Now he will use Project 2025 and anything he can dream up because America just told him he can.
Einstein fled Germany to England in 1933 because he saw the writing on the wall with the coming Nazi’s rise, anti-semitism and personal threats. And America is not exactly flooded with Einsteins.”
The secret to my success in the polling aggregator was simply to weight the polling results heavily and in some cases nearly entirely toward the polling firms that were the best and most accurate from 2020. AtlasIntel, Trafalgar, Insider Advantage, and Rasmussen.
They did not disappoint.
and so it was the opposite of garbage in garbage out.
I suspected as much with this election. I saw it started to turn toward Trump after the Vance/Walz debate. I saw the trajectory move inch by inch. Actually it turned out about what I expected….it was all so “elementary, my dear Watson”.
But the one thing that absolutely sticks out in my mind is the missing 13 or so million voters that voted for Biden in 2020 and not for Harris in 2024.
Translation-the people saw what Harris (and Biden) did for almost 4 years (inflation, border crisis, crime and two wars) and collectively these millions of non-voters said hell no….hell no for four more years….and hell no for a possible four more years after that. Hell no.

Late night has become just leftwing propaganda.

Politico should change that headline to AMERICANS NOT READY FOR A WOMAN PRESIDENT JUST BECAUSE SHE IS A WOMAN.
