The Return to Butler event I think is a pivot point for the Trump’s campaign. It was less a rally than a consolidation of people coming together around a man they wanted to win the election. It was reflective, had good will, was spectacularly organized with patriotic visuals and higher security measures everywhere. Elon Musk, sitting with Vance, got up and gave a seriously articulate and rousing speech. He definitely has super credibility for all he has done post Helene, especially in comparison to FEMA and Harris.

Genuine empathy was expressed throughout the speeches for the people hurt and one killed at the 7/13 rally, creating an amicable closeness most political events can never achieve. At the end, it was dusk, people were still energized, lingering around because of an opera singer on stage. I got the feeling that the success of today’s event would infuse the Trump campaign right up to Election Day.

  10. The irony is I also do not like Trump personally. I haven’t liked him since 2016. i don’t like his speeches, while sometimes Im glad he doesn’t take crap from Liberals, I do wish he wouldn’t shoot himself (and Conservatives) in the foot so much with his mouth. I think he’s a Republican by convenience as well…but

He governed to the Right of the Bush family, and won the Presidency once, which is more than Romney or McCain did. In office he did a good job, and a great job on the judiciary picks.

Ill be glad when he’s gone in 2028, but hope he governs as conservatively as he did the first term.

With all that said, I don’t feel the need to constantly trash him, trash people who go to his rallies, trash his rallies, just because I don’t like him personally. But that’s me.

Nah. Both GWB and GWHB were ideological conservatives and they governed as such.

Trump is a big government big spender crony capitalist and a protectionist and an isolationist. His trade policies were more to the left than Obama or even Biden. He put another 7 trillion on the debt.

Trump, for political reasons rather than conviction, did implement some conservative policies. Energy, judicial appointments. Tax cuts. Deregulation. I give him credit for all that.

But “governed as a conservative” is something Trump cultists throw around as if it was true.

    It is not.

They have switched roles with the Dems – represent more working class needs than the elites; don’t frame economical growth around war; supportive of pragmatic policies helping Americans rather than ladder-climbing with globalists in achieving more power. If Trump wins, stays in power for 4 years with policies well-received and viewed as successful by the people, then Vance will be well-positioned to run for POTUS in 2028.

The Bushes did a pretty good job appointing judges (with the big exception of Souter). John Roberts has been far from perfect. No doubt about that. But Trump’s picks have not been perfect either.
The McGirt decision that screwed up Oklahoma criminal cases was the brainchild of Gorsuch. The consequences were clearly not thought out on that one.
    Reagan’s picks weren’t perfect either.

But, I’ll take any of them over Biden or Clinton or Obama picking the justices.

With that said, I also like that all six “conservative” justices don’t vote lock step all the time. They take the time to review cases, look at the merits, at the filings, at the testimony, and make an impartial decision.

You can not say the same about the leftist women on the court. You can pick out 1000 decisions, and on 998 of them all three will vote the same exact way. They should honestly just have automatic checkmarks for these three “Justices” and save them the time of having to go to hearings. Everyone knows where they will come down before a decision is ever made.

Yet they missed the October 7 attack…

“The Washington Post is out with new reporting on how the Mossad got those pagers into the hands of Hezbollah. Hezbollah operatives were enticed by the bulky, rugged pagers that were pitched to them because they felt they could survive battlefield conditions. They were waterproof and had an oversized battery that could operate for MONTHS without charging. The pagers also allowed encrypted messages to be sent but there was a catch. In order for the encrypted message to be read, the user had to press two buttons at the same time. That’s how the Mossad insured that most Hezbollah members had the pagers in their hands when they exploded. The pagers contained such a tiny amount of the explosive PETN that even if Hezbollah broke open the pagers, they wouldn’t be able to detect its presence. So where did the idea come from? The Mossad already got walkie talkies in the hands of Hezbollah back in 2015. The walkie talkies contained an extra large battery and also gave the ability of Mossad to eavesdrop on ALL Hezbollah communications, which it did for nine years”
