I would love to see someone poll New Jersey. Not because I think Trump would ever have a shot there, but it would be interesting to see if New Jersey is shifting as for to the right as it appears New York has.
RE: The AZ poll showing +6 for DJT…the shift in Maricopa justifies it alone.
A 4 point win in Maricopa is a six point turnaround from 2020. Biden won the county by 2, and the state by 0.3. Maricopa has about 62% of the state’s population, and in 2020, cast 61% of the statewide vote. If turnout throughout the counties in the state remains constant relative to one another and the rest of the state did not experience any partisan shifts one way or another, that would suggest a total swing of about 125,000 votes (41xxx off Biden, and 84xxx added to Trump), for a statewide win of roughly 3.5%. Assuming that there have been partisan shifts elsewhere in the state, 5-6% is a perfectly reasonable lead.
Victor Davis Hanson, a noted conservative historian, has been a straight forward conveyor of the past, comparing and contrasting prior events to current trends and events today. His most recent piece slams the tax-payer funded visit of the Ukrainian president as an election ploy favoring the dem candidates, Harris/Walz – a clear case of election interference. Here’s why:
”More amazingly, Zelenskyy landed first in the critical swing state of Pennsylvania, where most observers believe the currently deadlocked election will be decided.
No surprise, Zelenskyy immediately toured a Pennsylvania munitions plant making artillery shells likely destined for his Ukraine — at a time when the state’s voters are concerned about job losses.
The Harris-Biden administration was sending the not-so-subtle message that providing billions of dollars in arms to Zelenskyy’s Ukraine translates into jobs for voting Pennsylvanians.
But that was not all to this crass September surprise.
In an interview with the left-wing pro-Biden-Harris New Yorker magazine, Zelenskyy plunged right into the current neck-and-neck presidential race. He trashed Harris’s rival former President Donald Trump as someone who “doesn’t really know how to stop the war even if he might think he knows how.”
Not satisfied with that putdown, the Ukrainian president hit even harder Trump’s running mate and vice presidential candidate, JD Vance, as “dangerous” and “too radical.”
The left still talks nonstop about nonexistent 2016 Trump-Russia “collusion” and equally bogus 2020 Trump-Russian “disinformation.”
Yet it would be hard to define any clearer “election interference” than the current Zelenskyy surprise.
After all, has any vice president incumbent running for president ever flown in a foreign leader on a U.S. military jet to the one key U.S. state that will likely decide the impending election?”
Jan – the subject has been beaten to death. We know where you stand, and the continued references wikk do nothing to change anyone’s stance. Let’s concentrate on other thibfs
Jason – despite the isolationist bluster he spews, Trump would continue funding Ukraine until a peace agreement would be made. He would also stand by Israel and Taiwan
jason was right that susquehanna would not put up a Harris +9 in PA, essentially declaring the election over, because it would end their reputation.
However, that’s basically what Morning Consult just did, putting up a Harris +6 in PA, except they will keep their high rating and not be held accountable for their propaganda polling.
DW, unless I fudged the math, 2020 + GA, AZ and NV leave DJT at 268, one short of a tie. The NE GOP is useless and refuses to play hardball, giving in to parochial concerns. I doubt they will even verbally rebuke the one holdout state senator much less torpedo his campaign for Omaha mayor when he officially launches it.
Not satisfied with that putdown, the Ukrainian president hit even harder Trump’s running mate and vice presidential candidate, JD Vance, as “dangerous” and “too radical.”
Funny.
I have been saying the same thing for months, so I have no problem with Zelensky saying it.
agreed, but we’ve all chimed in on this, me included. Just seems it is trying to instigate a fight that will consume the thread when there is so much else to talk about.
“AZ and GA is great. But Trump needs at least one of the blue wall states too.”
Jason, I know most everyone is talking about Pennsylvania, but I’ve been keeping an eye on Wisconsin even more closely.
Right now the Real Clear Politics average for Wisconsin is Harris +0.9
In 2016 the Real Clear Average underestimated Trump in Wisconsin by 6 points.
And in 2020, the Real Clear Average once again underestimated Trumps support by 6 points.
Pollsters have always had difficulty polling Trumps actual support in Wisconsin. As it stands right now, even the slightest of polling errors would give Wisconsin to Trump.
However, that’s basically what Morning Consult just did, putting up a Harris +6 in PA, except they will keep their high rating and not be held accountable for their propaganda polling.”
Right, but they are not called Susquehanna and as you say, won’t be held accountable.
Had Susquehanna called it for Harris and been wrong, their reputation would have been shot.
”More amazingly, Zelenskyy landed first in the critical swing state of Pennsylvania, where most observers believe the currently deadlocked election will be decided.”
LOL
Nothing “amazing” about it.
The factory in PA makes the ammunition Ukraine most needs.
It makes complete sense for him to visit this plant.
What would be a surprise would be if he DIDN’T go there.
Jason – despite the isolationist bluster he spews, Trump would continue funding Ukraine until a peace agreement would be made.”
I don’t disagree, actually. As I pointed out here before, I doubt Trump wants Putin to conquer Ukraine on his watch.
But the “peace agreement” he is envisioning is garbage.
So any criticism of Trump and Vance regarding their isolationist stances and failure to understand what the interests of the US are in this conflict remain valid.
As they have been doing since Washington crossed the Delaware, young men will save this country again.
They will be instrumental when Trump holds all 2016 states and flips NV. NE-2 might be a tough ask, but you have to expect that, given the signicant liberal establishment in that district.
I hope Trump wins, if for nothing else I would get to troll these guys X pages for days.
Allan Lichtman: “Nate Silver has finally seen the light! Weeks after I predicted a Harris victory he has come down from a 2/3 probability of a Trump victory to a 58% probability of a Harris victory.”
Speaking briefly, Zelenskyy said he believes he and Trump have a common view that Ukraine has to prevail against Russia and acknowledged the importance of the U.S. election. “We understand that after November … we hope that the strength of the United States will be very strong,” he said.”
I hope that is true, that Trump agrees Ukraine should prevail.
Redfield and Wilton just put up a Harris +3 national poll, but to get there, they had to juice the sample that resulted in a Biden job approval of +2!!
Joe Biden is dead, buried, gone, forgotten, and completely irrelevant. His numbers for job approval cannot change. They are encased in cement as far as this election is concerned.
But as I said weeks ago, its an important metric to check on every new national poll, because it will tell you if the poll is junk.
Biden job approval is -15 to -20, and that won’t change. If you see any poll like this one, at +2, toss the entire poll.
At Trump Tower, former President Trump praises President Zelenskyy of Ukraine for not “playing cute,” during his first impeachment. Trump says that Zelenskyy could have thrown him under the bus but didn’t and that he hasn’t forgotten that.
“Unless those ballots were requested by people who don’t vote regularly.”
************************
THIS is MY biggest concern regarding the mail-in ballots.
Are there REALLY enough safeguards to prevent DEM operatives from gleaning voter lists and then requesting mail-in ballots for those ho have voted in last 4 election or 1 in last 4 elections (esp. those residing in big cities), then intercept those blank ballots either at P.O. or the mailboxes, and then filling them out and sending them in illegally.
It still perplexes me that in one of my races for state legislature, I sent out direct mail piece letters to 780 newly registered voters (those newly registered in the 6 months prior to election) and 130 of them were returned–nobody by that name lived there. WTF?
My 4 contested elections were decided by about 300 votes each election.
***************************
I think I told you before how I even took one returned letter and drove the 1 and half miles to the apartment complex to see what was going on. Spoke to the manager of the apt. complex and he said nobody of the name had EVER lived in any of his apartments.
All of this was BEFORE the CROW-VID and the tsunami of mail in ballots we have had since then.
And TODAY. some states would be flooding the postal system with blank mail in ballots for these people–that may or may not actually exist.
URGENT: DAM FAILURE IMMINENT IN RUTHERFORD COUNTY, NC
This would be CATASTROPHIC.
All residents below the Lake Lure Dam are being ordered to evacuate IMMEDIATELY, as massive amounts of rain from Hurricane Helene is expected to cause the dam to break.
GET OUT NOW! A dam failure of this size could cause a mass casualty event like. we haven’t seen in decades
Trump treats Zelensky with the respect and honor he deserves. Very good.
TRUMP: Well, thank you very much. It’s an honor to have the President with us. And he’s been through a lot. He’s been through a tremendous amount, like probably nobody else — almost nobody else in history, if you really get right down to it. And we’re going to have a discussion and see what we can come up with. But…a great honor to have you with us. Thank you very much.
ZELENSKY: Thank you so much. Thank you so much, Mr. President. Thank you so much for this meeting. Five…five years past, since we have, yes, we had meeting, again, here in New York, in September. And now, through a lot of challenges — Ukraine and the United States. And, of course, I want to discuss with you, I think, where we are together. I think we have common view that the war in Ukraine has to be stopped, and Putin can’t win, and Ukrainians have to prevail. And I want to discuss with you the details of our plan.
“A couple of observations: First, this was a win-win for Trump and Zelensky. They both benefited from the publicized meeting, standing together, addressing the press. Zelensky benefits by shoring up support from Trump and his supporters, which he’ll need should Trump win in November. Trump benefits by showing that he’s got leverage — and something other world leaders (including the Left’s darling, Zelensky) want to be a part of. And it sends a message to Putin, too, that the dealmaker may soon be in play and there might yet be a resolution he can accept and live with.
Second, notice Zelensky’s body language before and after the meeting. Before, he looked tense, anxious. After, he looked much more relaxed. Why exactly that is, it’s hard to say, but my sense is that it’s a good thing. We’ll see.”
“The network said their investigation found that “two members of the CTV News team are responsible for altering a video clip, manipulating it for a particular story.”
“Their actions violate our editorial standards and are unacceptable. Those individuals are no longer members of the CTV News team.”
CTV National News initially ran a retraction, following the spliced clip’s airing, which the Conservatives said left viewers with the impression that Poilievre could introduce a non-confidence motion over the Liberal dental care program, which would trigger an early election. The clip was edited and the accompanying script reframed, removing reference to the phrase “carbon tax election.”
Chief Anchor and Senior Editor Omar Sachedina acknowledged in the correction, that aired on Monday, that Poilievre’s comment had been “taken out of context.”
“It left viewers with the impression the conservative non-confidence motion was to defeat the Liberals dental care program,” said Sachedina, in the apology. “In fact, the Conservatives have made it clear the motion is based on a long list of issues with the Liberal government including the carbon tax. A misunderstanding during the editing process resulted in this misrepresentation. We unreservedly apologize to Mr. Poilievre and the Conservative party of Canada. We regret this report went to air in the manner it did.”
Richard Grenell will most definitely have an important position in a Trump Administration. Pompeo less likely, especially as he was the one telling Trump not to release the Kennedy papers.
As for the Trump/Zelenskyy meeting, Trump wouldn’t have had said meeting if he wasn’t going to be diplomatic. He plays nice when a given situation calls for it. In this case meeting with Zelenskyy gave Trump an upper hand of being seen as solicitous and willing to listen to either friend or foe. Such a meeting might have taken some of the attention away from Harris’s disingenuous trip to the border as well.
I never heard this guy say anything useful, but he has a following.
JUST IN: Dave Ramsey shares a video from Trump Tower, says he reached out to both campaigns and apparently only got an answer back from one. “Our team reached out to both Vice President Harris’s camp and President Trump’s camp about the opportunity to sit down and talk about ideas,” he posted on IG. “Now, keep in mind, what happens in your house is more important than what happens in the White House.” “But I’m standing in Trump Tower, and I just finished interviewing President Donald Trump. It was a great interview. You’re going to want to see it. We’ll post it next week.”
Dave Ramsey runs a Christian based org that helps people with their personal finances. He has a following and any interview like this would help I suppose, but probably 95% of Ramsey’s viewers are already going to pull the lever for Trump.
”By stupidly stating that Zelensky was “campaigning for Harris” these idiots gave the Dems a propaganda talking point.”
Hardly….it still is seen by many as campaigning for Harris. Trump merely smoothed over the uncomfortableness of such an orchestrated political event by being gracious to Zelenskyy, and not promising anything to him but ending the war peacefully (something he has pledged to do all along).
Just had a great meeting with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine. If I’m elected President, the war with Russia and Ukraine will end quickly. If not, that war will never end, and will phase into WORLD WAR III. Comrade Harris will NEVER BE ABLE TO END THE WAR, and hasn’t. Nothing will change except THE DEATH AND DESTRUCTION WILL ONLY GET WORSE! MAGA2024
Jason mocks describing Trump as diplomatic, but then posts a piece about Ramsey being snubbed by Harris and then meeting with Trump (like Zelenskyy just did) – being congenial to both — and that’s not considered being diplomatic?
If I was advising Trump instead of the isolationist morons he has surrounded himself with, including Vance, i would tell him to propose the following “peace plan”.
Russia, get the f–k out of Ukraine or we will increasingly provide MORE aid to Ukraine including offensive weapons that will do REAL damage inside Russia. You get to keep Crimea and whatever borders existed before the invasion, nothing more.
“According to the report from the Deputy Director of ICE Patrick Lechleitner sent to Congressman Tony Gonzalez, over 662,000 illegal immigrantswith criminal histories are currently on ICE’s national docket.
Even more alarming is that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is currently tracking over 425,000 illegal immigrants convicted of various crimes, while 226,000 face pending criminal charges, all of whom have been released into the United States under the regime’s lenient immigration enforcement.
Of that staggering number, over 13,000 illegal immigrants have been convicted of homicide, and more than 15,000 have been convicted of sexual assault.”
Who would blame Zelensky from actually thinking a Kamala win would be a better outcome for Ukraine.
I certainly agree it would also.
I am afraid Trump’s plan for ending the war is just allowing Russia to keep what it has illegally conquered, which would be a shame and it would reward the aggressor and the war criminal.
The problem is that even if Kamala won, continued aid is not a given if Rs control the House. I think there are enough R votes in the Senate to continue to fund Ukraine.
My point is there are two options. Either all these pollsters polling NC have cleaned up their act and are now getting it right, or they are still polling way left of center and Trump is winning NC easily.
NEW: Former CDC Director Robert Redfield endorses Donald Trump, admits to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. he “got everything right.” RFK Jr. explained how he was appalled to find out that Redfield, who he was extremely critical of, was endorsing Trump. “Robert Redfield, who I really go after in my Fauci book, wrote an editorial in Newsweek magazine today saying that he was endorsing President Trump because President Trump was gonna restore American health.” Redfield said: “He has chosen exactly the only person who can do this, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.” “This was breathtaking to me because this is the guy who’s the head of the CDC that I’ve been criticizing for years, and then this afternoon he came over and had lunch with me.” “And the first thing he said to me is: ‘You got everything right.’” Wow.
Breaking: Prime Minister Keir Starmer had a two-hour dinner with President Donald Trump after the U.K leader delivered a speech to the United Nations in New York. However, intentionally unnoticed by U.S. media, the Prime Minister immediately left the U.S. following the lengthy meeting with President Trump, and never met with Kamala Harris.
Nate Silver is probably firing back at Lichtman who crowed that Silver had shifted to giving Kamala the edge, and that his apparently infallible keys were once more vindicated.
I agree with Silver, old Al is not applying his keys consistently. Further, I believe that he wants a narrative that Harris will win so as to astroturf the national picture.
Have to comment on the trump meeting, it did seem to take the sail out of quemala and her trip. Knee capped her. Then she crawls the border and is hit with the 400,000 illegal criminals
This might turn out to be a better fight than the Current Ukraine gs Russia fight here at HHR. Grab some popcorn.
Allan Lichtenstein:”Nate. you don’t have the faintest idea about how to apply my keys. You are neither a historian or a political scientist or have any academic credentials of any kind. Remember you were wrong when you said the keys could early predict Obama’s reelection.”
Nate Silver: “I’ve spent way too much time on this and have a lot of receipts from how you’ve applied your keys in the past! At least 7 of the keys, maybe 8, clearly favor Trump. Sorry brother, but that’s what the keys say. Unless you’re admitting they’re totally arbitrary?”
Another nuanced detail I’m noticing is how there are more people admitting out loud they are voting for Trump. We were at our favorite Mexican restaurant Monday night talking politics with a dem friend. A waiter came up and asked who we were voting for, after which I asked him the same question. He smiled saying “Trump” in a not too quiet way. I was surprised.
Nate Silver: “Yeah, Lichtman has gotten 2 out of his past 3 calls wrong. In 2016, he predicted Trump would win the popular vote and said nothing about the Electoral College. And this year, he predicted Biden would win. Dude is 1 for his last 3, losing his fastball I guess.”
Two independent sources have provided corroborating reporting to our team stating 9 surface to air missiles have entered the U.S. through a New Mexico border point of entry. The intended recipients of these weapons are 3 teams operating within the U.S. whose intent is to target President Trump’s airplane.

In 2016 the Real Clear Average underestimated Trump in Wisconsin by 6 points.

Pollsters have always had difficulty polling Trumps actual support in Wisconsin. As it stands right now, even the slightest of polling errors would give Wisconsin to Trump.

As for the Trump/Zelenskyy meeting, Trump wouldn’t have had said meeting if he wasn’t going to be diplomatic. He plays nice when a given situation calls for it.
