French election this year. First round the right leaning RN gets 33.3% of the vote, the socialist NFP gets 28.6% and Macron’s NF gets 20.9%. Media panics and announces that the right must be stopped at all costs.
Second round happens, and Right RN goes up to 37.1% of the vote, but only gets to 142 seats (an improvement of +53), the Socialists and Macron collaboration (a great French tradition) to deny the RN of a majority of seats. Then the NFP wins less, with 26.3% of the vote, than the first round, but garners 188 seats somehow (a gain of +57 seats). Macron’s ENS gets 24.7% of the vote and just 142 seats ( a loss of 76 seats).
So, of course, the media portrays the far left socialists as massive winners, despite the fact that the RN won EVEN MORE VOTES than the first round, because of the collaboration of the Socialists/Macron, and a stunning defeat of the right…
Yet…they received far more votes from the people than Macron or his socialist stooges.

Its going to be a nightmare if that doubleheader decides who gets in the playoffs and who doesn’t (between the Mets and Braves) instead of just who plays whom.
But, whomever from this pair that makes it, their opponents are saying thank you. They will be decimated on Tuesday. Just drained. Five games in four days with playoff implications, and then start a series, on the road, where if you lose two out of three you’re out.

on another note…I want to get everyone to weigh in here. Most of us have been here for at least ten years, a lot of us for up to 20…and a couple more than that, so we’ve been through an election or two or five together.
In the past we all wanted (most of us anyway) the R candidate to win, and either didn’t believe the polls, or told ourselves they were wrong when we were losing. Let’s face it, even in ’04 all the polls up to the end had Kerry winning, so realistically, since HHR has been in existence, we have not had an R candidate with a lead in the polls going to election day (because since ’08, we’ve had a demon, I mean democrat president except the Trump years, and no one thought he was winning in ’16).
So how do we feel this cycle. The polls are up and down, though the media is telling the general public Komrade Kamala is way out in front.
Do you feel this is a Mccain year? A Romney year (where ala Gerald Ford, I think if the election had lasted a few more weeks he would have won), a Trump surprise ’16 year, or a ’20 year where we “can’t believe we’re losing to a rug”… weigh in on how you really see it. All personal feelings about the candidates aside

I just think its interesting. We have all been through a lot of elections together. It’s hard to believe that when we first started it was Bush – Kerry…Friends was still on the TV. No one binged watched streamed videos. No Youtube, no Tiktok, no X (twitter).
There were so many of us back then. And now that we are all here, what do we feel? How are we seeing this election.
I truly can’t believe that we have sunk to a point where we would elect someone like Kamala Harris as President. Then again, I couldn’t believe we would elect a three time loser, plagiarizing, last in his law class person who refused to campaign…but we did. But she, let me tell you, Kamala Harris makes Biden look like JFK, Roosevelt and Washington rolled into one.

PA feels more like 2016 than 2020. Huge enthusiasm in the red areas Trump needs to win big. Combined with that is that although nothing changed and Dems can still game the VBM vote, it is possible that like in other states not as many VBM ballots are being requested.
i was listening to Jesse Kelly earlier on the radio. He said look, if we lose to Kamala Harris we deserve to lose. If she can win with this kind of campaign and this agenda, we deserve what we get.

I will be brief. Trump wins all 2016 states plus Nevada. Trump within 1,000,000 in the popular vote. There is a very slim possibility of a popular vote win if he can hold down Harris’s margins in NY, IL and CA while running up the score in the states he wins. If that happens, the GOP holds the House and could get to 53-55 in the Senate.

The issue from the beginning of this week has been like I stated, and is the same as the Genet Affair back in 1993……come here to our shores, ask us for our support, but DO NOT look to engage with our citizens and seek to divide one side against another…….YET here are Bitterlaw and jason both siding with the Biden/Harris administration in using Zelensky as a pawn in their re-election gambit, and with Zelensky, who is clearly being told by Biden/Harris that only we will help you……DESPITE the fact that for 4 years during Trumps administration, Putin never set foot inside Ukraine, because Putin knew Trump didn’t want him to do that, or else he would have to stop him.
It is NOT about Putin.
It is about the proper place, and the proper time, and the proper level of respect that should be shown to ALL FACTIONS in our republic.
If Zelensky wants to call Vance radical, fine, do it anywhere else other than our 50 states and any other affiliated territories. Say all you want over in Ukraine. Go for it. You think that is the best thing for Ukraine, have at it.

Not commenting here on internal poles, but this is an excellent strategy by team trump. I think scooter mentioned this a day or two ago. Quemala is now forced to do interviews and she bombs them. Yesterday’s interview (with her bestie) was a disaster.

Breaking News – Washington was a great man but not a god. Being 100% guided by a slave owner who died because the best doctors in the country thought the best way to treat a fever was bloodletting and leeches is nonsense. In Washington’s era, the most powerful weapon was a cannon. Foreign entanglements? Zzzzzzzzz. Easy to avoid because the U.S. had no weapons or troops to send anyway.

I think Trump will do nothing for Ukraine. He proved he is a moron the day he said he would “solve the war” in 24 hours and he did not get any smarter after that.

More nonsense. You fight the war you are in. In 2022, Putin ordered the brutal invasion of Ukraine. The right thing strategically and morally was for the U.S. and NATO to provide military and humanitarian aid regardless of who was in the White House.
