If the Nov. 5 election were held today, 45% of likely voters in L.A. County would vote for Hochman, while just 20% would vote for Gascón, according to the new survey from the UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies, co-sponsored by The Times…
…as of now, there is “broad-based support for Hochman across nearly every subgroup,” according to Mark DiCamillo, director of the poll, conducted between July 31 and Aug. 11.
Gascón’s image among voters is largely negative, with 21% offering a favorable opinion and 45% an unfavorable opinion. By contrast, 35% offered a favorable opinion of Hochman and just 7% held an unfavorable opinion.
the Politico article is laying the groundwork for blame if Harris loses. White men. The article states over and over again it’s the historic “gender gap” and how men are supporting her, especially working class white men
I wonder what happened to SDC. I think he made it to the lifeboat and then disappeared. Chicon is a mystery, I don’t think he left due to any argument.
A farm in the mountains of Norway stands on the site of what was once a “large and powerful Viking farm” and has yielded a significant Viking treasure.
Hidden deep under the floorboards of a small house, an excavation team uncovered four silver bracelets dating to the Viking Age, likely from the 9th century AD.
The silver bracelets were found in what was likely the same place they were originally buried, offering more insight into to the origin story of the treasure.
Walt is going to claim he lost them while on a bear hunt.
I don’t think hee haw and rattburger fixed anything in Georgia. The 2020 results were not certifiable given the fraud and missing chain of custody docs.
big Joe – why do you think Georgia won’t send electors. I personally don’t think GA will be that close
Vic, if Trump is leading, then of course his electors will be certified. If Harris is leading, then we will have a problem. The election board changed the rules recently that allows them to basically hold up certification for any “reasonable” cause. That, and now the hand-counting rule, pretty much guarantees that the election can not be certified by the mid-Dec deadline.
In that case, we will enter uncharted waters .. It will take some time to dig into the details here, but I believe that the state legislature and/or governor could then appoint a slate of electors.
Hand counts to verify the electronic count of ballots sense like a reasonable and reliable validation of the results. Conspiracy nuts and 2020 election deniers will disagree.
All the GA elections board is trying to do is reconcile the before and after ballot counts if there appear to be some irregularity with the vote counts. The media, of course, is freaking out and warning about how onerous this will prove to be. But, with all the problems associated with GA’s 2020 election – ballot glitches, a dominion machine report sealed for years — these measures seem fitting in hopes of slowing down or preventing fraud in a fe months.
I mentioned in last night’s blog that Trump leads with NY Jews by 10%. This is in addition to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters that will not endorse Harris and the first time in decades that the IBT will not endorse a Democrat.
Today, The Hill has story about these ‘canaries in the coal mine’ popping up here and there. They mention the CBS reporter that found only 3 Harris supporters in three different restaurants in Las Vegas while the rest were ‘really excited’ about Trump.
The author calls this fear from the working class (and more specific the white working class) or the scared majority. They are scared of what’s happening to their country.
And this author predicts this scared majority will propell Trump to landslide victory.
I don’t know about a landslide but agree with the results.
In GA, the hand count is not necessarily a concern as long as it can be done quickly. The bigger issue is that certification can be held up for any “reasonable” cause by the election board. So one can imagine the infinite “reasonable” causes that will inevitably materialize if Harris is ahead …
REPORT: Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) "expressed skepticism of Harris' reported lead in Pennsylvania, [comparing] the situation to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's seven-point lead in Pennsylvania that ultimately collapsed on Election Day."
Guys, there was no Pentagon screw up related to deployment of National Guard on Jan 6. The “optics” excuse was just that—an excuse to justify why guardsmen were not deployed. This was a coordinated effort between Milley, Pelosi, and DOD officials to prevent extra security that…
With respect to Nv, I believe it was a cbs interview. The interviewer went to several, spots in Reno, including a popular bbq spot. Northern Nevada was always split between d and Rs. It now may not be so split. .
Vegas was always dratville. However, the Hispanics that were interviewed there seemed more pro trump.
No tax on ot and no tax on tips are popular messages in both places.
Joe, it’s a case of “fool me once,” not twice, kind of skepticism that will hover around GA and many other swing states once 2024 votes are cast. I closely followed, listened to and heard about all the voter intimidation, machine manipulation, top-heavy dem poll-watchers that went on in 2020. The touted 60 some court cases coming up with zero rulings of fraud, never heard any evidence, being quickly dismissed by procedural bs. So, this time the R opposition party is more alert, and yes tenacious, to catching and calling out what the Dems have easily pulled off in past elections.
There will not be another debate. With the controversy involving the abc moderators/the claim made by one or more whistleblowers that need to be vetted/etc., the media destroyed any debate happening.
John Goggin, the Hill link you posted was not only encouraging but also valid. More and more focus groups seem to be be evaluating candidates more on their policies, not their unrealized promises. In GA, for instance, a small black undecided group didn’t mince words in pointing out Harris’s thin policies and lack of strong convictions. Also, college campuses are seeing large gatherings for TPUSA events, enthusiastically wearing the emblematic red hats Charlie Kirk distributes. Even rallies for Trump are growing in size, undeterred by the incessant negative press lies/allegations and stories, or assassination attempts. RFK Jr. remarks, about the dem party now having 70% of the wealth while republicans only 30%, statistically manifests the shifts occurring within the constituencies of each party – the wealthy dem elites representing oligarchy type wealth, vs the Republican under-represented working classes. In fact it seems to be more of a middle/working class vs celebrity/corporate/wealthy class election than one pitting blue against red.
Those daily mail black voters had bad news for quemala. And then you had fat Oprah run interference for Quemala when she could not answer a debate question.

It’s all good Janz. LIke I said, there will always be something “reasonable” that will require an inquiry. Getting back to my original point, this reasonable inquiry is likely to delay or prevent certification .. thus no electors from Georgia.
There will be certifiable results in GA, with electors representing a less questionable final vote, which will hopefully point the way to more dependable elections in all 50 states.
